I’m Sticks Sterling, VP of the Steel Kings. No one gets by me, least of all a woman.
I found her, gagged and bound, deep in enemy territory. She was at their warehouse, where the Jokers usually play with their prey before making it disappear. Forever.
I rescued her and brought her back to the clubhouse. My innermost sanctum. Only she doesn’t want protection, mine or the Kings. And she claims she has no idea why those bastards took her in the first place.
Yeah, right.
I’ll find out why the Jokers wanted her so bad, and I’ll keep her safe. If it turns out she’s an enemy spy, then I’ll just have to punish her first. She’s mine.
Confession is a steamy and suspenseful alpha male MC romance and contains no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happily ever after, guaranteed.
Nikki Bascomb, freelance journalist, is willing to do anything to find her missing twin sister, who she suspects has been kidnapped by the Jokers, a criminal biker gang. Just as Nikki puts her own life on the line to save her sister, Seth “Sticks” Sterling, VP of the Steel Kings MC, swoops in and literally snatches her from the clutches of the Jokers, who are adversaries of the Steel Kings.
Even though Nikki and Seth feel an immediate strong attraction to each other, they are fighting their trust issues. Seth needs to know what Nikki’s real reason is for being in the hands of the Jokers. And, Nikki is struggling with whether she can trust Seth to give her the help she needs to find her sister, and once she does, will it be in time to safe her?
This is an engaging tale full of emotions, action, and steamy passion with well-developed, strong and interesting characters. The narrative is fast paced and will keep your attention from start to finish. I recommend this as a very appealing read. Although this is a part of an intriguing new series, it can be read as a standalone. However, you should read the first book “Betrayal”, also. You won’t be sorry! Can’t wait to see whose story is next!!
Nikki is determined to rescue her sister from the villainous Joker gang, but her efforts are interrupted when she is subsequently rescued from the Jokers by Sticks (Seth), the sexy VP of the Steel Kings MC Club. Despite their intense initial attraction, both Nikki and Seth have layers of trust issues to wade through before they can work together against their common enemy.
I enjoyed this book a little more than the previous one in the series, as this one included more action, and more interaction with the rest of the Steel Kings. The updated peek into Cassie and Grady's life was a nice bonus. Nikki and Seth really are terrific together, and their scenes are filled with humor and sizzling electricity. The suspense was resolved perfectly, and their HEA was nicely done.
Nikki annoyed me a lot. She acts stupid too often. Her plan to get kidnapped should have gotten her killed or at least in the same predicament her sister was in that could be worse than death. Than she doesn't tell Sticks when he has showed he knows a great deal and keeping silent isn't helping her situation at all and maybe he can. She just acts out of panic so many times without any intelligent thought behind it.
Love everything I’ve read by Jamie Garrett! Confession, book two in the Steel Kings, is no exception. Nikki and Seth have to learn to trust each other. Can they do it in time to save her sister??
As VP of the Steel Kings, Seth has never balked at responsibility or taking care of his club. After saving Nikki from the Jokers, he has more than just his club to worry about. Awesome read! Enjoy!!!
This author always manages to keep her readers interested for hours and hours. The Kings manage the rescue of a gal destined for a life in the human trafficking world. I loved the storyline and recommend the book for adult readers.
I couldn't finish this book due to the overload of information coming from the H/h's heads. Too much of of an information dump happened between the characters speaking- or action happening. At one point, it took 15 pages before the H asking the h a question before he speaks the same question again, as we have to go through her information unload. Sigh. I also wasn't a fan of repetitiveness about the Jokers and their involvement with MS-13 gang, cartels, and their lines of work: trafficking, drugs, and guns. I definitely didn't want to see it from two perspectives. I think I get it already. And I definitely hated the long info dump at the start of the book while they're on a stake out, waiting for the bad guys and a shoot out to happen- we have to read too much info between the action scene.
Sorry, but just not something I want to spend my time reading. So really this is a case of- it's me, not you- as I see a lot of people really liked this book.
