American Restoration: How Faith, Family, and Personal Sacrifice Can Heal Our Nation
THIS IS NO TIME TO RUN AND HIDE
America seems to be crumbling from within. Having abandoned the Judeo-Christian values that are the foundation of its culture, our nation, in the eyes of many, is going the way of the great civilizations of the past.
If our 250-year experiment in ordered liberty has really run its course, is it time to recognize the inevitable, pack up our families, and head for the hills, hunkering down through the dark days to come?
Or is there hope for an American restoration?
Tim Goeglein and Craig Osten, battle-hardened veterans of the culture wars, know as well as anyone that the decadence is undeniable. But they make the case that an American restoration is not only possible, but probable—if we act now.
The key is for Christians to engage with the culture, not flee from it, to be the salt and light that will renew it from within. That engagement must take place especially at the local level, where real spiritual and cultural transformation occurs. If America returns to its spiritual foundations, the tumultuous times we live in will be nothing more than a bumpy detour in our nation’s history. This book is a roadmap for the way back.
In this clear-eyed but hopeful guide to restoration, Goeglein and Osten explain how patriotic Americans, with God’s help, can renew fifteen critical components of our culture.
Government will not provide the solutions we desperately need. The solutions lie in our churches, our communities, and our homes. The light for our path is faith. As that light pierces the darkness, America will experience a reawakening, regeneration, and renewal.

Don't let the 3 stars fool you. This book was good, it was just very short and very basic. This would serve as a great introduction to someone who has conservative leanings/Christian leanings and you want to motivate them.
The central call of this book is a rebuke to Rod Dreher's "The Benedict Option." Goeglein calls on the reader to go out and be salt and light to the world. The only way American institutions can be restored is to get involved in them as Christians. There weren't any "aha!" moments for me in this book because I already have heard many of the arguments that Goeglein is putting forward but that doesn't mean they are bad.
If you want a good starter on how to begin restoring American culture, this is it, but don't expect anything more than a starter.

A book for all patriots who grieve the societal ungratefulness and vitriol of tribal peoples in America today. Those who are not patriots are not students of history, choose to flaunt their narcissism and are a danger to the sustainability of these United States of America.
I can only pray for their enlightenment and their repentance. Their lack of virtue and morality is the result of a humanistic paganism much like that which caused the Roman Empire to implode.
I am, at the same time, with great hope because our Creator God will not fail in pursuing His will for His Creation. The question before us as Americans is this: Will We the People, repent and honor and trust in God? Thereby pursuing Him and being welcomed into a continuing role in His almighty and eternal plan?
As Benjamin Franklin’s response to Mrs. Porter rings true for each generation. Shaw asked: ‘What kind of a government have you given us? Franklin’s response: ‘A republic, IF YOU can keep it!’
Will We the People be up for the challenge????

So grateful to own this book. It is inspiring, wise and thought provoking. Several passages caused me to evaluate areas I need to watch out for and be a better citizen.
I have numerous tabs, marginalia, and check boxes of items to delve further into.
Each chapter spoke to me, but one of my favorites was Chapter Three, Restoring Medicine and Medical Ethics.

This book is super great and informative. I love the examples it provides from history and the practical example to use in restoring America. It’s a great read, one worth doing again.
