Shakespearean scholar and private detective Ulysses Finnegan Donaghue finds his vacation in the south of France cut short by the murder of archaeologist Oliver Hardcastle and must confront a group of feuding, egotistical intellectuals to unearth the killer
Former English teacher, now full time writer. Brought my family up in France, now living near Cambridge in UK. I've written three crime novels, two classic British whodunits, the third non traditional using a child detective. I'm now working on a series set in the South of France with a very unorthodox, ballsy female detective.
This Ulysses Donahue mystery sends the quirky London P.I. (together with gorgeous young secretary Brigit and lifelong friend the homely Dr. Clotilde Blanche) on a walking tour in the Alps. Throw in a famous retired archaeologist, twin art students, an archaeology student, and a news reporter, as well as the proprietors of a small village refuge, a tour guide, a mute shepherd, an anthropologist and his wife, a handsome immature and egocentric murder victim and you have more for Ulysses to investigate than the mysterious Bronze Age rock drawings and hieroglyphs. Absorbing characters and setting make for a fun read.
The second tale featuring brilliant sleuth Ulysses Donaghue. It features all the charm of an Agatha Christie story with a contemporary twist. This one revolves around Rock drawings and two archaeologist. One is the celebrated archaeologist that discovered it and and the other has found new drawings. The new guy, Oliver Hardcastle, is found dead and Donaghue decides to focus on his murder from the discovery. It is plenty of twists and turns.
