SUGARED DEMISE is the fifth book in the Pumpkin Hollow cozy mystery series. Mia Jordan has moved back home to Pumpkin Hollow, a town that celebrates Halloween all year, to help her mother run a candy store. These novella length mysteries are uncomplicated and can be read in just an hour or two. In this book, someone is killed on Halloween night by a killed wearing a werewolf costume. Mia and her boyfriend Ethan, who is a detective, work to find the killer. In addition to the mysteries, I love the delicious fudge and candy descriptions in these books. So yummy! 5/5 stars.

Honestly, there’s not much to say about this one. There was a murder, it got solved—pretty straightforward, lol. Mia didn’t throw herself in harm's way as recklessly as usual, but she's still incredibly nosy and can't resist getting involved. I get that it’s all part of the cozy mystery vibe, but it still manages to bug me.

Halloween Murder
I liked this story. Not quite a short story but not excessively long either. This is the first book of this series I have read. Probably reading them in order would be better since the author talks about how her character of Mia is growing in confidence and clue gathering in the author's note. However, I do think the story can stand alone. I liked the seasonal picture painted by this author as fall is my favorite time of the year. I loved the details about the candy at the candy shop which added to the story richness. I gave it four stars because I thought it rolled out just a tad slow for my liking, but overall a decent cozy and I look forward to reading more books in the series.

Great book!!!!
Mia just happened to be in the right place, but the wrong time to have stopped a really bad crime from happening. And she feels guilty she couldn't have done something to help to either stop it or chase the person.
After she called for help and Ethan got there that's when things got complicated. Knowing the person the crime against, now it's the who and why.
When they started looking into the past Ethan and Mia opened up a Pandora box of suspects. The saying it's the least likely, well it's true.
The list of people is long, but who wanted it more.
Halloween just helped with covering up the identity.
With Mia going around asking questions around the town gossiping she learned a lot of interesting secrets and not so secrets.
You will love it!!!!

Coming onto the Halloween night murder scene right after the murder had Mia pretty shaken up, so she was more determined than ever to help Ethan find out who killed the town lawyer. I had guessed completely wrong on this one, so yeah it stumped me lol. Mia was just observant enough to pick up on something during one of the many daily candy store transactions. I'm pretty sure there's a handsome cop out there who's perfectly happy to help Mia get over being upset about this murder now that the perp was put away! I'll be borrowing the next on KU soon!

Tricks or treats?
I enjoyed this one! I have been enjoying all the books so far in the series. Due to the town being so small, I feel like everyone is going to be murdered before the series ends! One thing I don't like is that Mia is obsessed with the cases that whenever her and Ethan have a date night, she is constantly bringing it up. Like girl CHILL, enjoy your man! Other than that, these books are a quick read and I'm highly enjoying them this halloween season ;)

Murder by Werewolf
The entire town of Pumpkin Hollow celebrates Halloween down to the very last citizen. People, both young and old, are out and about when a costumed werewolf murders the town's well known lawyer. It appears that everyone has a reason to kill him. Fingers are pointed and a bank receipt solves the crime. I won this from Amazon.

This author seriously needs a new editor. There were a lot of errors, and a lot of repetition. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised by how much better this story was than the others. It’s a shame it took 5 books to actually get to Halloween. Also, for Halloween to be over at the very beginning of the book was another letdown.

This was the most Halloweeny of the series thus far, and I liked that, but I wasn’t as interested in the mystery compared to other ones in the series. It just didn’t grab me. There weren’t a lot of twists and turns. It was more just going after suspects one by one and eliminating them. To me, that just wasn’t as exciting as I would have liked.

Weak by comparison
This was a lot less interesting than the previous books. There were also a lot more typos and continuity errors, especially with Benjamin's name near the end. Taking a bit longer to do the next one could be very helpful for quality.

I've read five books in this series and all of them so far have been quite easy as far as mysteries go. I was able to figure out who dun it way before the ending of the books. But I continue to read the series because I like the characters and want to see what will happen with Ethan and mia.

This series are a great way to get you into the Halloween feeling no matter the time of year. The mystery thought is all very simplistic I feel. The dialogue too. I rolled my eyes at a couple lines that felt very cheesy, but I can’t seem to stop reading them, so there’s that.

This was a cute little addition to the series. Although I can't say this one was my favorite so far, I did enjoy this one, and it's still a great little read for getting into the mood of the season!

An interesting Twist
This one has an interesting twist to rh other books in the series. It takes on a bit more personal reasonings for the murder. But also we see some of the personal relationships really deepjng between the main characters in the books as well.
