Savannah Morgan found true love at a very early age, but a decision that she would regret for the rest of her life was all it took for her to lose the only person who had ever mattered.
For seven years, Jeremy Matthews has accepted being "just friends" with the only woman he's ever loved. Tired of living without her, he relentlessly pursues Savannah, determined to make her see just how perfect they are for each other.
But when Savannah's past mistake is revealed, threatening the future she so desperately wants, the fate of their relationship lies in Jeremy’s hands. Now, it’s up to him. He can either let go of the love of his life or choose to rise from the ashes of the past and claim their happiness.
Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom. Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance. When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

Not impressed when H considers sex with other woman 'out of this world", that type of remarks belongs to the h not ow! So tired of this trope - h/H secretly love each other, told admit it but sleeps around with others, shoving other relationships in each other's face.

Aaargh! It's killing me to rate this with 3 stars, because the h Savannah is amazing. I loved her in the first book and she was carrying this one as well. She is an amazing friend and has a big heart despite her parents and her upbringing. I really like JPs style. Her characters are likable and the dialogues are mostly witty and fun. But the plot was disappointing. First it was disturbing that everybody calls her Savvy, when in the first book they call her Van. But that was just a small point and I got over it fast. She has made a big mistake in the past, because of this she broke up with the love of her life Jeremy. After 7 years he decided he wants her back -while being in a relationship with another woman for several weeks - so I was wondering why he waited 7! years to start fighting for her? When her big mistake was finally revealedSavannah was fighting her way through, but couldn't get over it. I'm so so so disappointed by them. In the end and everything was wrapped up nicely. I wished there was a better storyline for a great heroine.
A small-town, second chance, friends to lovers, story. A lot of drama between these two main characters which started in the first book of the series and ended with this book. Jessica Prince does drama and romance really well!
The female lead in this Savannah (Savvy) made a decision at 19 that led to tons of guilt. Guilt which began to fester, so she breaks up with her boyfriend – the love of her life Jeremy. They remain friends and are part of a tightknit friendship group, so are an integral part of each other’s lives.
After 7 or so years Jeremy decides he wants her back -while being in a relationship with another woman for several weeks – the girlfriend Charlotte was a douche and after she and Jeremy break up, I really wish the author hadn’t kept bringing her back into the story. Some of what Jeremy does with her, even when drunk had me wanting to chuck the book. I really didn’t like how things played out.
Also, I really didn’t like Emmy’s reaction once Savannah revealed the secret she had been keeping, ok she was shocked but as her best friend not cool. Luke was right in telling her (and Jeremy) off. My least favourite book in the series by far, flicked through some of the parts that were really annoying me.
Acquired via kindle unlimited.
Having now read all the books in the series I can say book 3 is the best.
i liked the h well enough. i didn't like the way she was treated by her crappy best friend, emmy, who she defended and lent support to in the 1st book. and i didn't like that the cheating of the H was handled so dismissively.
This book was another great read from this series. Full of push and pull, back and forth and with a secret that definitely gave me a OMG Nooooo moment.
We first met Savannah and Jeremy in book 1. I instantly loved Savvy, she was fiercely loyal to her friends and had me cracking up with her spontaneous threats of dismemberment. You will know what I mean when you read this series. So of course I wanted to know what her story was and more importantly her story with Jeremy.
Childhood friends and at one point in a relationship these two have definite chemistry but it's clear that Savvy is determined not to let that chemistry go anywhere. It was also clear that she held some secret that made her feel that way and as the story progressed my spidey senses tingled. I had an idea very early on what it was and turns out that my suspicions were correct. That being said however it didn't take away at all from the fact that once the secret was revealed I felt a whole slew of emotions. Most of it sadness and understanding for Savannah.
Jeremy was just as great, especially when his alpha tendencies came out. He just always seemed to know when to hold back at times and went to push. While there were some moments however that I didn't necessarily like his choices I do know that sometimes people make mistakes.
This book for me was not just about second chances but about what kind of fight you are willing to go through for the one you love.
A great second chance romance full of some intense moments and once again filled with characters that I just can't get enough of.
I loved this book so much. I couldn't put it down. Savannah and Jeremy have loved each other since they were fourteen years old. The only problem isn't they keep hurting each other and breaking up. This last separation has lasted seven years and Savannah told Jeremy it was time to move on. She has a secret that could destroy all their love for each other. Jeremy has tried to move on and he was presently dating Charlotte she hates Savannah because she knows about their relationship in the past. She is jealous. Jeremy gets away from Charlotte and goes back to Savannah. They are really happy for awhile and so are all their friends. They have had a very supportive group of friends since they were teenagers. Savannah eventually decides to move forward she needs to tell her secret to Jeremy. She is right he doesn't understand and he runs from her. She has so many problems and now even her friends don't understand how she could keep such a secret from Jeremy. Feeling alone she moves away. Join us on a journey of Rising from the Ashes as they fight to get back what is lost. You will love this book as I do and you will see why it is a five star book.
I loved this story. It is about a sweet girl who made a mistake that she carried around with her for years never forgiving herself. I love the friendships in the book along with the other relationships and budding romances.
I'm a bit all over the place on this one. Don't get me wrong I loved it. But I sometimes try to think what I would have done in certain situations and then compare to what our leads have done. I think I need to learn to separate it.
Savannah and Jeremy have been on and off for years. A couple in their younger years these two were your perfect childhood sweethearts. But when tragedy strikes one of their closest friends it changes everything they all knew.
Savannah’s parents were absent for most of her life. Coming from money it was all about appearances. There was not a lot of love in her life and the only examples she had was that of her friends.
It hits Savannah the hardest and she makes a decision that will have far reaching consequences. This is where I questioned myself and what I would have done. She broke things off with Jeremy and essentially closed her heart off.
Fast forward and this group of friends all still live in Clover field. When push comes to shove you can see that these two are going to end up back together, the chemistry and the bond they have is stronger than ever. But when Savannah confesses to Jeremy what she did it’s here that it hits the fan bigtime. I totally understand Jeremy’s anger. Her best friends anger also is warranted.
You question how do you move on from this. And how do you forgive.
The secondary characters made it for me. I have to be honest not my favourite of all the books I’ve read from this author but it still delivers.
Savannah Morgan knew early on that Jeremy Matthews was the love of her life, but life happened and Savannah made a decision that changed everything. Instead of telling Jeremy, she broke up with him. Years later Jeremy still doesn't understand what went wrong with Savannah and has a new girlfriend who despises Savannah. After everything is revealed, Savannah decides it is time to move on, even though it means leaving her best friends and of course Jeremy. Jeremy doesn't know if he can give Savannah a second chance but if he doesn't he knows it will be the biggest regret of his life.
There is a lot to this story not just the Savanah secret dynamic, but her family, her friends and how they react. I wanted to like this one but it was just different then the other books by this author. More angsty.
A second chance romance that will keep you guessing!
Secrets and lies lead to hurt even when the secrets and lies are your own. Savannah and Jeremy had been together and in love from a young age until something happened and Savannah ended things...cue the mysterious secret that drove me crazy! Years later, they’re still friends, still in love, but not a couple, however, Jeremy is determined to get her back, to convince her they belong together. Savannah is one stubborn cookie, but Jeremy pulls out all the stops and it’s very entertaining! I was incredibly frustrated with this two on more than one occasion, but that just made this beautiful HEA that much more sweet!
Savannah and Jeremy were the perfect couple, until Savannah did something which not only broke her heart, but Jeremy’s as well. Years later, still feeling guilty for what she did, Savannah isn’t able to forgive herself and realise that Jeremy is the one for her. When her mistake is revealed, the love that Jeremy still has for Savannah is tested. This book was well written and I enjoyed reading whether a mistake as a teenager finally revealed would end the story of Jeremy and Savannah.
People make mistakes. Our actions affect the ones we love. When Savannah makes a decision that will change her life forever, she risks losing the love of her life. By not telling Jeremy, the guilt is eating Savannah alive. When Savannah can’t handle the guilt any longer, she breaks up with Jeremy and tells yet another lie.
After being “just friends” for the past seven years, both Jeremy and Savannah are miserable. They're still in love with each other, but neither are willing to put their hearts on the line again. Savannah knows that she can’t have a future with Jeremy unless she tells him the truth. But rather than risk losing Jeremy as a friend, she decides to stay silent for fear of losing him from her life all together. Can Savannah let go of the past in order to have a future with Jeremy? Jeremy won’t take no for an answer when he undoubtedly knows that his heart belongs to Savannah.
It’s funny how we punish ourselves just to protect the ones we love. Savannah knows that when she tells Jeremy what she has been keeping from him all these years, he will hate her. Jeremy is tired of the games that he and Savannah are playing. Jeremy decides to take the bull by the horns, because he is tired of living a mediocre life without Savannah. Jeremy wants the one that he loves. The one that completes his life. It has always been Savannah. It has always been Jeremy for Savannah. No other man can come close to the feelings that she feels for Jeremy. He holds her heart, he always has. Jeremy vows to show Savannah that they are meant to be with each other, and he will stop at nothing until he proves it to her. Jeremy could see the pain in Savannah’s face and the scars in her eyes whenever he mentioned building a future together. When Savannah tells Jeremy what she has been keeping from him all these years, she broke Jeremy’s heart all over again. Jeremy knew Savannah had let him down before, but never like this. He never imagined the reason behind all of Savannah’s fears, would tear them apart.
Are all mistakes forgivable? When you hurt the one you love the most, is he expected to forgive you simply because he loves you? People say love conquers all, but can Jeremy’s love for Savannah get them through this. Can Jeremy forgive Savannah again for breaking his heart? Can one lie ruin their relationship? Can Jeremy ever trust Savannah again? Does Savannah deserve another chance. Savannah will always be the one for Jeremy. She will always be the one he pictures his future with. Jeremy will always love Savannah. She will always be the one that holds his heart, his love, his future. But can they get past this? Can they both forgive each other for the decisions that were made?
While reading Rising From the Ashes, I have to say, my heart broke for both Jeremy and Savannah. I understood why Savannah did what she did. I am not saying I agree with it, but seeing the situation, she did what she thought was best for “her”. To see the heartache that Jeremy was feeling, tore me to shreds. I loved Jeremy. He didn’t deserve to go through this. He deserved his happily ever after. Jeremy just needed to decide if Savannah was his happily ever after. Sometimes we need to hit rock bottom, lose it all, before we realize that what we want has been standing in front of us the entire time. Savannah needed to hit rock bottom and burn, before she could rise from the ashes. She needed to heal from the demons of her past before she could move forward with the future that she deserved. Guilt eats people alive, and that is exactly what it did to Savannah.
Rising From The Ashes is the second book in this series. I enjoyed this book just as much as I did Picking Up The Pieces. I enjoy getting to know this group more with each novel that is released. When I heard this song, it screamed Jeremy and Savannah. Since Jeremy is HOT, and in a band, I could so picture Jeremy singing this song to Savannah. I listened to this song on repeat over and over, so I could actually find the words to put in my review. Jeremy left a lasting impression on me.
Rising from The Ashes Jessica Prince This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. I must admit when I first saw the blurb for this story I was intrigued. Boy and girl break up, remain friends for seven years and then boy tries to get back together. I thought this was going to be a nice light read. I mean watching the boy chase the girl. It had to be worth a laugh. Boy was I wrong. This story was not light and airy. It was rip my heart out and stomp on it, GREAT. It had unbelievable depth and intensity. Jeremy Matthews and Savannah Morgan had dated through high school until Savannah had ended things with really no good reason. For years they coast together, still hanging out with the same crowd of people. Always together, close like best friends. He even moves on and is involved with Charlotte, but he has never really gotten over Savannah. It kills her to see him with Charlotte but she puts on a good front. She ended things and if he every knew why he would never forgive her. His friends finally tell him" If Savannah is it for you, then you need to do everything in your power to make her see that." Thus begins "Operation Prove Savannah Wrong.' He decides enough is enough and sets out to get her back with him. Where she belongs. " You are not getting away this time Sugar." He sends her flowers , cleans out the gutters at her house, fixes leaky faucets, mows the grass and shows up at work with lunch for her. He teases her relentlessly, kisses her without going further. He won't until she admits she wants him to. "Sugar, all you have to do to get me to sleep with you is say four little words. We. Are. A. Couple." She caves. I mean really who wouldn't. They have hot sex every where, constantly, and things are great. UNTIL. She comes clean, she confesses. And then all hell breaks loose. Jeremy has a hard time dealing with what she has revealed. Will he be strong enough to get past it. Will their love really be all emcompassing to survive those seven long years apart and this devasting secret. What about her group of friends? Will they choose sides? Will she have anyone left after all is finally reveled? Get out the kleenex and the warm blanket ladies. You are in for an emotional ride as you read this story. It is heartbreaking as Savannah truly reveals her soul to us as we read about her life. She has had to experience so much at such a young age and has bottled it up inside her for so long without really dealing with it and moving on. I loved reading about the two of them and I am hoping and praying for a HEA. I would rate this story a 5/5 and am definately going to read more by this author.
I’ve been a HUGE fan of not only this series but of Jessica as well. When I read Picking up the Pieces last year I was drawn in by her witty humour and well-balanced characters, and not to mention the way she so effortlessly grasped hold of my attention with her writing prowess. I not only fell for her writing but her characters won me over completely. In Picking up the Pieces (#1) is where I first me Savannah who is the lead character (heroine) of Rising From The Ashes and I TOTALLY loved her! Needless to say l couldn’t wait for her story, and every time l got I bugged Jessica about how much longer I had to wait for her and Jeremy’s story.
Savannah (Savvy) is a very fun character, she has quite the mouth on her, and she is supper hilarious. She also is witty, feisty and super independent. If you read Picking up the Pieces (Luke and Emmy’s story) than you already know how strong Savannah is, how self-assured, confidant and how she takes no bullshit from nobody. But in Rising from the Ashes we not only see that side of Savvy, but we get see a whole different side of her. The lonely sensitive girl who has not only sacrificed her happiness and that of someone she has always loved for doing the “right” thing, which now is a huge burden on her shoulders.
We see Savannah deal with a lot of emotions and we see that she is not made out of ice. She has feelings and regrets, but she also is SUPER STUBBORN!!! Ahhhhh it drove me crazy. There were times I wanted to get in her face and yell at her. Shake her so she would react in a different way.
Jeremy, bless his heart. I loved getting to know Jeremy as we hardly get to know him in Picking up the Pieces, so I was genuinely surprised by his personality. He is a hoot! Him and Savannah really make a great couple. I love these two Characters personalities. And Jeremy well he is a great man, who when decides enough is enough he goes for his girl. Of course when the truth comes out it is understandable he gets hurt. And I really sided with him. But I also wanted Savvy and him to get past what happened and be happy.
Overall Rising from the Ashes is a nice read to bask in the sun with, or cozy up in bed with. It has fun banter, great characters main as secondary. Light drama, friendship, love, steamy sexy-time, growth, forgiveness, second chances and most importantly great writing.
I freaking loved this book! I loved Savannah in “Picking up the Pieces” and I’m so glad she got her own story! She’s the kick-ass best friend who would do absolutely anything for the ones she loves. In this book, we learn just how far she would really go. We definitely get to see a different side to Savannah in this book. While she’s still the strong, fun-loving character we met in in “Picking up the Pieces”, we also see that she’s quite broken.
“I made the decision that ultimately destroyed everything I held dear, and looking at myself in the mirror was getting harder and harder with every passing day”
Savannah is such a caring and unselfish person. All her life she has made decisions based on the needs of others. Some of these decisions have been at the expense of her own happiness. Savannah made a very tough decision at a young age. A decision she thought she needed to make to protect her best friend. She carried around the weight of this mistake for years. Although still very much in love with Jeremy, she had to end things with him to protect him from what she had done. To move forward and have any chance at the happiness that she can only find with Jeremy, she will need to come clean to Jeremy and the rest of the crew. Can she come to terms with what she’s done and will she be forgiven by her friends for keeping this secret from them? Can Jeremy get past it?
My heart broke for Savannah and Jeremy because you can see throughout the entire book how unhappy they really are apart and how the truly belong together. Although Jeremy seemed to move on and was in a new relationship, it was clear who his heart would always belong to.
This book had me laughing one minute and crying the next. This is a story about friendship, secrets, heartache, and betrayal. It’s also a story about forgiveness and moving forward. Definitely a rollercoaster of emotions. A very well written and consuming book. I have fallen in love with this author’s writing and can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Wow, this is going to be the hardest review I’ve ever written. I both loved and didn’t like the book. When I first read book one, Picking up the Pieces, I loved the friendship between the characters. It was so inspiring and heartwarming the way they all stuck together and were there for each other at the worst of times. Their loyalty was their strongest piece. Emmy and Luke from book one, had the support of all their friends even though there were such big secrets that they all knew about except Luke, which I agree was Emmy’s right to tell him when it was right. With Rising from the Ashes, it was the total opposite. Savannah has this huge secret except only one person knows. I love Savannah and Jeremy as a couple, they both complimented each other when they were committed and their romance was off the charts hot. Throughout this book, they were a train wreck. Partially because Savannah has the worst self-esteem, and what makes it worse is that all her friends know that. Jeremy just baffles me. Any man that just loses his mind from any woman touching him makes me puke, I mean come on…show some will! The story went well up until the big secret reveal. After that I just wanted it to be over. I am so disappointed with how Savannah’s two biggest supporters and supposed best friends just dump her. Only one person actually is there for her and it was just heartbreaking. That friendship that I loved from the first was gone. It actually took drastic measures for anyone to see what a dick they were being to her. Why did I give this 4 stars then? Well, other than the story plot, the writing was fantastic. Easily pulled in and hard to put down. I did shed a tear or two, and laughed a few times as well. I hold hope that the strength in friendship returns later although this one might have ruined that image for me.
The BFF we all loved, Savannah, is back in Rising From the Ashes. Just as sassy as ever. The story begins seven years ago when Savvy first broke up with Jeremy. It's obvious she did something she's not proud of and that's the reason she let him go. We're not privy to that reason until much later.
Fast forward to present day and Savannah is still very much in love with Jeremy and she has to subject herself to watching him with Charlotte, Emmy's waitress and Jeremy's girlfriend. I understood Savannah was in love but I thought she was a bit immature when it came to Charlotte. You let him go so you can't get mad when he tries to move on.
But when Savvy starts spending time with a new lawyer at her firm, Jeremy has had enough, he's done doing things Savannah's way. I was happy with the new development as I thought Savannah would be more stubborn. But she still has to let us in on her secret. Personally, I thought if she didn't tell him seven years ago then she should have taken it to her grave. But it was obvious the guilt has been eating away at her all these years.
Then when she finally gathers the courage to confess, she lost everything just as she feared. I shed a few tears for Savvy. It was heartbreaking. She made a mistake but Jeremy and Emmy's actions following their initial anger and shock weren't fair. At this point Savvy won me back again and I wanted to punch everyone on her behalf.
But it all worked out. I was happy with the ending. Out of everything that happened my biggest issue with the book was I just kept thinking, "Why in the hell was Charlotte at the country club?" Haha. I hope Trevor and Lizzy are the next couple in the series. Well done!
I LOVED Rising From The Ashes....I finished the book at 6:00 this morning - just couldn't put it down!!!
After meeting Savvy in book #1 in the series I couldn't wait to read her story and find out what the history between her and Jeremy was.... I was taken by them both from the start. I'm a big fan of dual POVs and this gave us a great insight to both characters....
When we first came across Savannah she was the supportive, strong, funny & smart mouthed friend of the group but we soon discover in 'Rising' that there's a lot more to her than meets the eye.
We hadn't seen much of Jeremy in PUTP so we didn't know much about him or why he and Savannah weren't together.... just that there still seemed to be something between them.
Secrets and heartbreak have kept this pair apart for 7 years - they still love each other but could they ever overcome what had happened and get back together?!
'Rising' had me laughing & crying in equal measures. Savvy's stubbornness annoyed me at times (I just wanted her to stop being so hard on herself). Jeremy's determination was endearing but he did a couple of things that ticked me off - saying that, it never stopped me from rooting for them!!!
Once again, we had the supporting cast made up of all of their friends with the introduction of a couple of new faces that I'm looking forward to reading & finding out more about. I can't wait to see who's next up - am hoping it's Trevor & Lizzy!!!
Rising From The Ashes is another well written, captivating story from Jessica and I loved every twist and turn it had me on!!!
** I received an ARC of the book for an honest review**
Rising from the Ashes is the second in Jessica Prince's Picking Up the Pieces series but it works well as a standalone. This time the focus is on Savannah 'Savvy' (Emmy's bestie from book 1) and Jeremy (who we also met in Picking Up the Pieces).
Told in dual POV Rising from the Ashes tells the story of why Savvy and Jeremy (former high school sweethearts) are no longer together. The dual POV works really well here because we see both sides of the argument surrounding their relationship and breakup. Whilst Savvy is still struggling with a decision she made years ago, Jeremy has no idea why Savvy ended things. It was interesting to see how they both dealt with the spilt and how they work as friends now.
Savvy is sweet, witty, fierce and vulnerable; it was interesting to see her as more than Emmy's friend and support. Jeremy is still friends with Savvy but has always loved her and doesn't really understand what happened all those years ago. I really liked Jeremy and didn't think he deserved a lot of what happened to him. I won't hold his choice of girlfriend against him too much (*ahem* Charlotte), although it did make me wonder how guys can be so blind to how horrible girls can be.
The secondary characters are well imagined and I loved the friend group dynamic they had going on. I did wanna shout at Emmy a couple of times for being kinda selfish, but in general they were a fun addition to the story!
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review!
Rising From The Ashes is the second book in the Picking Up The Pieces series. I did not read these books in order and I still followed the storyline and the characters without a problem. It can be a standalone. I am dying to read them all RIGHT now1
All I can say is, wow, this was a great story. Savannah and Jeremy were childhood sweethearts. They were together their whole lives, when Savannah breaks up with Jeremy for no reason, everyone is stunned. Fast forward 7 years. The two are all still in the same circle of friends. They always have been. But lately things have changed. Jeremy is dating a girl who hates Savannah and putting a strain on their friendship. Savannah has always loved Jeremy. She hates him dating this new girl. Savannah puts on a happy face and makes the best of it. When Jeremy sees Savannah out with her coworker, it makes Jeremy question why he is so jealous when he is in a relationship.
While working through things, Jeremy decides that he is destined to be with Savannah and he needs to make her see it as well. Jeremy does everything in his power to make her see they will be great together. He wants them back as a couple, not just a fling. Jeremy is willing to be Savannah's everything. He breaks up with the girl her is dating and does sweet things to win Savannah back.
Just when everything is going well, a secret Savannah has been keeping for 7 years could threaten to ruin everything. But the truth needs to come out for them to have a future.
I loved the dynamic of this book. The tight group of friends was truly great. They were all what each other needed. And when there is a big group of friends, you KNOW there will be more books!!!
I love the group of friends in this series. Friendship like theirs is so rare. In this book, the main couple are Savannah (Savvy) and Jeremy (Jer). Is that just too sweet/cute or what? Everyone even has their own nicknames and each other's house keys. :) What a life. Seems perfect.
But low and behold it isn't. Savannah and Jeremy have been in love since they were kids, but certain things happened and ended their relationship. Even though they aren't officially a couple, you just can't stop love. They continually feel the pull and occasionally give in to it, yet still manage to remain in the not a couple category. Just when it finally looks like they will make it work, a secret from the past knocks it all back down.
I like Samantha's character. When her background was revealed, I found out how strong she really is. I admire her for turning out like she did instead of like most would have in her situation.
I enjoyed reading this book. It's a feel good book. :)
Within the first chapter, I was immediately hooked! You automatically connect with Savannah, and Jeremy. Especially if you ever had your heart broken, when you were a teenager. Living in the same small town as your ex would not be easy, would be even harder, if you had the same group of friends. For the past 7 years, Savannah has been keeping a secret from everyone, except for one of her friends. Later on, when you find out what her secret is, you might be upset with her…..but in all honestly, I think she had the right intentions, and didn’t want to hurt anyone. Savvy (Savannah) has been punishing herself for so many years, I just wanted to jump into the book and hug her! But then there were times when I wanted to slap her, because she is so STUBBORN! When the secret comes out, Savvy learns how to stick up for herself, and actually put herself first. Since Rising from the Ashes, is told in dual POV’s, you learn a lot about Jeremy. He is dating Charlotte, who is probably the most delusional person! She just not take a hint, when Jeremy doesn’t want to be with her anymore. Of course, she thinks that she is better than Savvy, so she tries make things worse for Savvy. After ending it with Charlotte, Jeremy is determined to win Savvy back, showing her what she could have, if she gave him another chance. Jeremy, is so sweet!! I think I need to move to a small town, to find a guy like that! ;) Yes, this book will make you cry, but it will also make you laugh! Also this book can be as a stand-alone. I definitely recommend this book!!!!!
Every so often while trawling on Amazon or in book groups for new reads you are occasionally lucky enough to find that unexpected little gem , a particular book / author you know is going to be good , this is how i felt after discovering Picking Up the Pieces by Jessica Prince , her debut novel . I really enjoyed it and like many loved Sassy Savannah a supporting cast member so i was excited to read her story Rising From The Ashes. Oh Boy did it not disappoint , i adored it .
Sassy Savannah was an incredibly fabulous, strong, loyal and smart mouthed character in the first book and i wondered where the author would take her on this journey. i laughed out loud , suffered with her , shouted at my kindle and sat looking at the page in disbelief at points . Jeremy we didn`t get to know very well before and i`m so glad he got his own story with Savannah , he drove me demented at points but if a book can give you strong reactions and an emotional rollarcoaster it`s doing its job . So if you love a good story that shows life in a real way with all its flaws ,that is about relationships both with friends and lovers , with witty banter , humour and affection in spades then give this one a try , it`s warm and memorable leaving you with a smile long after you`ve finished . ** I received an ARC of the book for an honest review**
I was provide a copy by the Author/Publisher for an honest review.
Let me just say that this is the first book that I read from this author.
I just finish reading this book and I love it, I know I should had read the first book, but I did it the other way now I need to read the first book, I have to say I love this book love the characters and love how it turns out to be, that's why I am gone keep this short and sweet since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Savannah while she is breaking up with the love of her life Jeremy, Now couple of years later Savannah is living her life day by day, wondering if breaking up with Jeremy was the right thing to do, Jeremy has a girlfriend and he is trying to move on but he cant keep Savannah out of his mind, Savannah cant stand seen Jeremy with another woman, and Jeremy cant stand to see her with another man, that's all it took Jeremy to do set himself free and fight to get the love of his life back.
I love the way that Jeremy and Savannah act with each other, love it when Jeremy did everything to seduce her and the games that this two where playing into they gave in, I really love and enjoy reading this book, Author Jessica Prince THANK YOU for introducing me to this amazing characters and this awesome book love it.
I didn't expect this to make me cry, but it did. I loved Savannah in the first book - she's the friend every girl needs. Strong, supportive, loyal, you name it. I think that's what hurt so much reading her book - when the chips were down her "friend" wasn't there for her.
I didn't like Jeremy's reaction to the big reveal either. I get he was hurt but didn't like how far he took it. I was thrilled that Savannah didn't roll over for him, that she stuck to her guns and moved on. I love an alpha male but think a strong woman that does not bow and scrape to said alpha is way, way better :D Thank you JP for giving me such a strong character in Savvy - she is bloody awesome!
This is the second book of the "Picking up the Pieces" series. In this one we read the story of Savannah and Jeremie. I was intrigued about their story in their 1st book and Jeremie’s character was one of my favourites. I liked Savannah's character more in this book, she was way too intense in the 1st one (in my opinion) but here we saw a different side of her, more vulnerable. Although I liked it as much as the 1st one and there weren't many flashbacks I kind of figured out her secret pretty much from the beginning and it could have less drama happening until Savannah finally decided what she really wanted.
I couldnt help but update Jessica on all the feels i was having. I went through every range of emotion in this book. She had me twisted!!
First i wanted to shake Savannah!! Then I wanted to hug her and slap Jeremy. Then i wanted to buy some ice cream and every other comfort food while we sat and cried together. I also couldnt help but laugh and then finally, we got to smile again!!!
i really was put through an emotional ringer on this one and i loved it!!
Jessica is an awesome author and i cant wait for Trevors crazy ass, cher! ;) moo
