Marines, Men of Honor #1

Daddy in Dress Blues

Rate this book
OPERATION: Daddy Boot Camp

SUBJECT: Three-year-old Blue, the daughter that -- until three days ago -- U.S. Marine Curt Blackwell never knew existed.

MISSION: Fatherhood. Bedtime stories. Plaiting hair. Holding hands.

COMPLICATIONS: Preschool teacher Jessie Moore. They had a past, but Curt avoided those waters. Unlike Blue's fear of monsters under the bed, a woman's emotions truly spelled danger. And he was growing defenseless against this woman's warmth and beauty....

MISSION SUCCESS: Uncertain. Curt would survive -- but not necessarily with his heart intact!

Good read. The hero and heroine have a past, but the hero mostly doesn't remember it. Now he has a daughter to raise. He feels totally incompetent to be a father, but he's a Marine and Marines don't fail. So he needs the heroine to help him out. He isn't through with boneheaded moves, but they figure it out. I liked it.

Jessica Moore is a pre-school teacher that Curt Blackwell was in her classroom with his daughter Blue.in Marine Dress Blues. She hadn't seen him in 12 years when he had been really drunk and she ended up with him in his 65 Mustang in the back seat giving her virginity. She had not heard from him in 12 years. He didn't recognize her. He left Blue with Jessie and turned and walked away.
He doesn't know how to take care of a little girl. He was doing desk duty recovering from a leg wound. Jessie had always had a crush on Curt, he never knew and she wouldn't let him know now .
But they are constantly being thrown together over Blue. But it is a very difficult road to a happy ever after. It is a fun book and some funny moments with 3 year old Blue. My favorite one was when he found out Blue had stuck Smiley Face stickers on the soles of his dress shoes and when he was at classes he was teaching everyone saw them and they teased him. It's a good fun read and it has a lot of emotions involved.
