This is a great beginner chapter book! Libby lives in a farm and is curious about the outdoors and all it’s creatures. When she sees a pet show where animals do tricks, she wonders what her pet goat Elvis might do. After many failed trials, she decides to take Elvis to hospitals, retirement centers, and schools to be a therapy pet. Young readers will fall in love with Libby and her adventures. I will be purchasing all the books in this set for my school library!

How many of us head toward the animal shows and exhibits when you go to a county fair? I know I do and so does Libby and Becca. It is one of their favorite parts, especially the shows where they see all the extraordinary tricks the different animals can do. It gets Libby thinking of her own pet, Elvis the Goat, and the tricks she could teach him, with help from her friends.

Libby Wimbley loves her pet goat Elvis. During the school's Fall Festival she visits the Pet Show and is marveled by the different tricks and abilities the animals perform. She goes home and tries to teach Elvis these tricks but soon realizes her goat's talents lie elsewhere. A story of truly seeing someone for who they are and not trying to make them become someone else. This is an early chapter book with illustrations in each page, large font, and an engaging plot.
