Nibbles' mother has made his favorite meal - warm carrot soup and cheese. But tonight Nibbles decides that he no longer likes carrot soup and cheese Just as his mother is about to lose her patience, there is a knock on the door. It's Cicada and he's very cold and hungry. Nibbles' mother offers Cicada Nibbles' dinner and he quickly gobbles it up. Cicada doesn't understand why anyone would turn down such a delicious meal - especially when other animals have nothing but dried pinecones and frozen bark to eat in the winter. After Cicada leaves Nibbles thinks about how horrible it must be to be hungry and cold and quickly runs to the kitchen to see if there is anything left over. "Yum " declares Nibbles. "Carrot soup and cheese - my favorite ."A wonderful story to read to pickk eaters everywhere to help them understand that not everyone has a hot meal waiting for them and we should appreciate what we have and how lucky we are to have it
This looks like one of a series of stories about Tip the Mouse and the lessons he must learn while he grows up. Illustrations are nice. The story has a great lesson.
