This book provides collectors, would-be collectors and enthusiasts with a definitive guide to over 500 types of doll. A decent book for people who collect dolls or for those who want to start collecting dolls. It has good pictures and details about the dolls in the book and the different types of dolls that there have been over the years. It isn’t really for pricing or putting value on them.

It’s an interesting book if you want to learn a bit about different types of collectible dolls that are vintage or antique. Wasn’t what I was looking for.

This was an amazing find in 'Oxfam Books & Music of Hereford' Original price was £15.99 and I paid a mere £2.49 and it is almost like new. I bought it to research the type of doll my character in a book I am writing would have had around 1860 and it does not disappoint. The beautiful photographs show how a child or collector could so very easily fall in love with them.

There are short but simple to understand descriptions and an easy to follow glossary at the end. Anyone interested in collecting dolls or just wants to see some beautiful images and the craftsmanship that goes into making them should check this book. Its even got a section on the changing face of Barbie. Brilliant.

This was probably mostly written for collectors, and although I'll never be a doll collector, my recent interest in toy and dollmaking made me check this one out from the library. It was really fascinating as a history of the last three to four hundred years of doll making.
