Terri E. Laine, USA Today bestselling author, left a lucrative career as a CPA to pursue her love for writing. Outside of her roles as a wife and mother of three, she’s always been a dreamer and as such became an avid reader at a young age.
Many years later, she got a crazy idea to write a novel and set out to try to publish it. With over a dozen titles published under various pen names, the rest is history. Her journey has been a blessing, and a dream realized. She looks forward to many more memories to come.
Oh Wow! There was a lot going on in this book! Hooked from the start, captured throughout and head over heels in love!
The story started right were book #1 left off and I was thrown into Jake’s mess. Having to face his past wasn’t the problem but how it came like a car crash into his orderly world was a disaster. Jake knew what he wanted but things were complicated especially because he only wanted the best for his daughter. With threats hanging over him, he didn’t really know what to do to get out of this mess and the thing he had with Honey started to crumble.
Technically, Honey’s job was to care for Ford, but we didn’t get a lot of that because there was so much else going on. There was a lot of potential for this book to be a full-length novel. Such a pity that it wasn’t, but I loved it nonetheless.
Ps.: I really wish there was a Book coming about Axel. =P
Wow there is a lot crammed into this story. Seriously, can this couple not get a break. I loved how we had a female character with such a big heart (even while wanting to shake her!) Honey's past is she makes her decisions on, even if it means she doesn't come out on top. Jake, my poor Jake, loved that he was man enough to do what needed to be done. Intrigued?!? Guess you should read this duet to get the story.
Hopefully there is a plan for a series with the brothers mentioned in this story.
I loved this story sooo hard, book peeps. It had so many elements for such a short read. Sex, yup.. hot. It had development, family issues, love and rolled into a great swoonworthy story.
Sugar is not a standalone, you need to read Honey by Terri E. Laine first in order to follow this love story. You don’t want to miss a thing and reading more about Honey and Jake is no sacrifice.
Honey is still the independent spitfire I’ve grown to love and Jake is the swoonworthy rancher I remember him to be. Their relationship has taken a sweet and sexy turn, but sometimes life throws you a curveball you don’t see coming. They navigate this new obstacle in their lives the best way they know how, both making assumptions about how the other feels. Mistakes are made, but letting go is proving to be a difficult road to travel for Honey and Jake.
The banter and sexy times between these two doesn’t diminish and it becomes clear their love and adoration for one another is something they can’t dismiss. Finding love is not an easy journey, but Honey and Jake need to decide how much they’re willing to put their feelings on the line. Once again, we get some funny interactions with Ford, Jake’s Dad. Jaime, Jake’s daughter will tug at your heartstrings and it’s a no brainer as to why Honey is in love with her too!
This was a great story of love finding you when you least expect it. Rest assured Honey and Jake will put a smile on your face and fill your heart joy!

When you find a book and it's so good you just can't put it down - well that's Sugar! How can you not love Honey - I can just hear her when she calls Jake "Sugar". These two are meant to be together but so many people and things try to split them up. However, Honey's heart is bigger and filled with so much love for Jake and Jaime that letting go is just to hard. And once again Ford is always there providing comic relief for everyone which makes him my new book boyfriend! If you loved the book Honey then you will devour Sugar.

How I love Terri’s books! This duet is great and not to be missed! Two quick reads with the most loving group of people. Jake’s a single dad who loves his family with everything he has. His life is complicated and he has hired Honey to help. Now as Honey and Jake “Sugar” have started a relationship, life throws them a few curveballs. Can their love win? The twists and turns - some good, some bad not one did I see coming. You will love all the characters in this duet! I laughed, cried, stomped my feet a little but loved every single word. I’m hoping Terri decides to do a couple of spin-offs for a few of the characters that I grew to love and want more of!!! ARC provided by author - this is a voluntary review
I loved Honey, read it as part of The Vault collection but you can get it now separately! Honey and Jake or "Sugar", these two are destined to be together but life has so many obstacles. I adore single Dad books, my heart just overflows when I read them.
Honeys character, I just love her! She has so much to offer both Jane & Jaime! You'll be rooting for them, trust me!
Ford is amazing, really hoping to read more about him! Lots of terrific secondary characters. Lots of angst, feels, I definitely laughed and cried a little while reading!
Highly recommend! The authors writing is terrific!
A heartwarming story that goes on a journey of lies and deceit but love and all about family! 💚
There were parts that had me on the edge of my seat and definitely takes you on a rollercoaster !
This is the second book in the honey duet and love how it begins exactly where the first one left off ... right at that cliffhanger Just when hinges are looking up for Jake and Honey some obstacles are brown their way- can they ride the storm and come out the other side !? #sugar #honey #jakeandhoney #terrielaine #honeyduet
So the story continues! It is must that you read Honey before you read Sugar! And let me say you won't be disappointed! OMG l loved these two books! Again l loved all the characters in this story! So Honey left off with a cliffhanger, so l am not going to go on about the story, l don't want to give it away! Gorgeous ending had a couple of tears! A must read!
We pick up from book 1...a blast from the past shows up...Yep...let’s say TWO blasts from the past...one from Jake ‘s and one from Honey’s. Oh the drama in this book was non-stop! There are jealous women, attempted rape, old gambling debts...and rockstars!! Whew! So good that I couldn’t put down! Definitely a must-read duet book.
A great conclusion to Honey and Jake's story. We pick up right where we left off with the arrival of Jake's ex Tara. This book packs a punch with lots of twist and turns.
A real page turner of a read not to be missed, but please make sure you have read Honey first as this cannot be read as a standalone.
This is part two of Jake' s journey to finding his happily ever after with Honey. What will happen when a both their exs arrive on their doorstep, can a new love overcome and build a forever future. Part II is just as fun read as Part 1.
W polskiej wersji jest to scalone w jedną książkę, co ma znacznie więcej sensu, bo aż takiej dramy tam nie było, jak sugeruje opis, że z emocji nie da się wyrobić i trzeba to rozdzielić na dwie części. ;)
I was not disappointed with the conclusion of Jake and Honey's story. It's sweet not only seeing the bond between Honey and Jake but also with his family.
I've been anxious for the conclusion to the Honey duet and for the most part I was very satisfied with Sugar. Picking up where we left off, the shock of Tara back in Jake's life left Honey reeling just a bit. But as usual, she does what she needs to, both for Jake, Jamie and Ford and herself and she continues to come out stronger than she was before.
The author tells a good tale of a great woman who deserves more than she has gotten in the past. I loved Honey and her spirit and her big heart. The way she is with Ford and Jamie warmed my soul and there was no way Jake could ever be without her.
Plenty happens in this conclusion and there were a few twists and turns along the way to keep it interesting. Secondary characters were perfectly placed and it only has me wanting more! In particular, getting Axel's story would make me very happy. I truly liked him and his caring dynamic with Honey.
Overall, Sugar like Honey before it is a touching read with the right amount of heat and humor. A duet worth reading. Although I will admit there were quite a few typos that distracted me.
3.5 stars!
