This tells the story of the beginning of the library of Alexander. The Librarians are an owl snd a former slave. The owl is a servant of Athena. The slave is from Rome who was a scribe at the library.
This is one Theory of what happened to the Library of Alexandria. It is moved to a pocket universe.
The talking owl is only one who can communicate with the Athena. Whereas the former slave, is a little educated in writing the language of Rome and how he became a slave. It also gives a little bit of history, the fall of the Gods, and the birth of Christianity from the perspective the slave. Another tidbit to flesh out more information about the library.
I enjoyed this book and the whole Federal witch series. Highly recommended.
I liked the characters and the god manipulation but was confused by the purpose of the library. As a prequel for all library references, it is probably an important part of the series but for me it seemed more prequel than novel.
I still liked the story, even though it felt a little gap-py. The characters are offbeat and most of the dialogue works, without being YA. I like T.S. And will try more of this Otherwhere series.
Likeable characters, entertaining dialog, and a world of gods and modern religions in conflict. It's like browsing through the dessert section of an all-you-can- eat literary buffet.
No one turns down a good dessert. I will be back for more.
This is fun material and really would be more interesting if it were a full size book vs a short story format. But still good even if it is too short for what I wanted it to be. 😃
This is more background about the library of Alexandria and the pocket universe it's on. Here we get the history of the library's creation and it's inhabitants.
