Jessica Mills loves the HEA found in a Hallmark movie, must have coffee first thing in the morning, and a homebody that loves living in the country. She’s definitely family-oriented and an animal lover at heart except for snakes….nope! She recently relocated back to East Tennessee with her husband and daughter to be closer to family, she has a son that lives in Florida, and three furbabies that complete her everyday life. She’s always wanted to be a writer and put the stories from her head to paper. She never thought that would come to fruition until she met Ali Parker.
Great story line and characters, Awesome !! Loved this book. The storyline was so interesting that it had me turning pages in anticipation of where it would lead . I was very intrigued with the characters in the story. Simply awesome . Definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. I would recommend to others. Worth the read and the money!

The Dawsons continue! Cousins to the brothers from the first four books, it seems the Dawson alpha gene is alive and well in Texas! This book is about Tanner his quick wit and a degree in agriculture he is given the task of finding out what's causing the plight of their crops, no easy feat especially with his family's farm and lively hood on the line. Working with Madison at the local college laboratory is a bag of mixed feels. Putting the two smart for their own good heads together creates a force of stubborn nature, which is amplified since they cannot deny there is a connection between them. What they do with it in the midst of solving the crop issues... A sweet story with tons of feels, drama, and at times a bit of frustration. I did not connect with these characters as much as I did with past Dawson Brothers books, one issue felt a bit glossed over, but it could just be me. Overall I think it was a sexy, sweet rancher romance. If more books about the other brothers and sister come out, I would give them a try!
This is the fifth in The Dawson Brother's Series by the Best Selling Author, Ali Parker. I 'discovered' Ali's books in 2017 and have read each and every one since. Her writing style is relaxed and draws me into her fabulous storylines. Her descriptions bring the characters to life and it was a pleasure to 'meet' Tanner and Maddison. She's a college graduate and is back in Texas to help at the college when she hears about farms having their crops deliberately poisoned she wants to help. This is when she meets the gorgeous Tanner Dawson who does not consider himself a romantic. Well, that was, until he met HER! Oh steam heat. Their banter is witty and the chemistry between them sizzles deliciously throughout the book. It was also wonderful to catch up with characters that I'd 'met' in previous books. Both realistic, steamy, romantic , mysterious and humourous. All the ingredients that make this another must have read from Ali. I received a reader's copy of this story and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.
I am so glad to see Tanner's story come to life. We met him in the last Dawson Brothers book and really liked him. Tough cowboy and all but one woman can bring him to his knees. Madison has come back to Texas to live and work at the college doing research in their lab. She is very smart so when the crops in their town start to go bad due to someone pouring chemicals on them, will she be able to help? Tanner is also smart, sexy and has a degree so when he is asked to help Madison he's excited to be in the lab again. Their attraction is instant but neither one moves forward with it until one night. Can they keep their relationship professional or will it move to more? This is a well written story with characters that you will enjoy reading about. In fact, I would like more and I am hoping the other Dawson's will get their stories too.
This is an easy book to read although at times it jumped from one moment to another with out explanation of how. I’ve been an avid reader of Ali’s but this one left me a little disappointed.
Tanner Dawson is one of five children living on the Dawson Farm with his father. His sister Abi is fiercely protective of her brothers and the boys have a reputation for being a bit wild. Tanner is the only one in the family who went to the Agricultural College. Coming home from working on his cousins farm he finds they have a problem with one of the crops. Maddison is doing her masters at the Agricultural College and loves working in a lab researching. Her parents separated when she was young and her father lives here in Safety Texas. She is given the responsibility of researching the ailing crops and has a new lab partner...Tanner Dawson.
Kudos to Ali Parker on an excellent book in the continuation of The Dawson Brothers. This book holds a little bit of mystery, some good ole' cowboys and sexy. Tanner Dawson is one of five all boys except his sister Abi, just returning from helping out at his Uncle's Ranch Tanner discovers a problem at there's. Having an MS in Agriculture his Father sends him to the College to work with researchers to find out what's going on. Madison is frustrated that they want someone to come help in the lab and Cowboy no less and from a family of boys with a wild reputation but, the chemistry between them is explosive. Can Madison overcome her demons and Tanner is fear of feelings to make a go at it? Great book a definite pageturner.
Just read last 5 chapters, it's a whole different book than the first 80%. I loved the end, however, this book missed the mark for me. Title does NOT fit. She didn't stand by him. Other than being pretty, I can't figure out why he fell for her. He was fabulous, sincere, sweet and sexy. She was cold, indecisive, and just unappealing. I didn't feel the chemistry. They were supposed to have masters in agriculture, but their lab work was ridiculous and on point with junior high. The dirty talk was awkward. If the book fell in line with threats 20%, I'd have rated it much higher.
Stand By Your Man is the latest from Ali Parker who writes the most fantastic books about those Texas Dawson brothers and their kissing cousins from Safety Texas. This is Tanners story and you got to know him from the last Dawson book. He was just too yummy not to have his own book. Tanner has to help solve an agriculture mystery with the help of a not to friendly lab assistant. There are some challenges for these two to solve in many areas. Stand By Your Man is a great book and I highly recommend this book and can hardly wait for the following books with Tanner's brothers.
Getting to read about the cousins is going to blow this series away. In this book we read about Tanner who was a big part of the last book about his family back east. We see that he's finally home and something has happened to the family ranch. He's gone to the local college where he meets Madison. She's the soul mate for him. Things get rough for them but things always find a way of working out. I loved this first book in this series and can't wait to see which brother or sister gets the next story. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
I really enjoyed this sweet romance read. The characters are interesting, well-developed and have chemistry. The story is interesting. I didn’t think It gad the usual spark Ali Parkers books have. Something was a little off. It didn’t grab me as much, or have the intensity that some of her other stories had. I wasn’t as excited to finish the story as I have in the past reading her other ones. Still, it was sweet and romantic. A little on the boring side, but I would still recommend it if you like his author.
Love me some Ali Parker, not only is she a terrific writer she carries my family name I'm also Parker by blood, so I know she's special I cut my teeth on a few of her books when I got back into reading especially my romance novels I've always been a paperback girl but it's just been the last few years I've picked reading back up and because of Ali Parker and a few others they've helped me figure out what I've been missing!! can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Yet another Ali Parker book that lives up to it promise. Tanner was introduced in the previous books and I absolutely loved his story. He along with his siblings offer a slightly different Dawson charm. And Madison, her quirky personality was a great addition to the series. The fact they are both highly intelligent and have a passion for agriculture was a solid foundation for a remarkable story. I cannot wait for more from this Dawson clan.
Tanner Dawson. 6'4", tattoo sleeves, hazel eyes and makes a pair of Wranglers' look amazing. He may have had a reputation before Madison, but not together. Was a good story, although there were parts that came across as written by a kid. The writing quality almost seems like there were two writers. Intimacy scenes were bland so no worries about erotica. Clean language which was appreciated. Enjoy.
Tanner is the first in a spin-off series from Ali's Dawson brothers we've grown to know and love. There are four brothers & one sister that are cousins to the first Dawson set we read about. This series starts out just as exciting. There is a mystery, alpha men, strong women & HEA for the main characters. The heroine, Madison, is smart and independent. Tanner is strong, caring & cards deeply about his family. This story is a real page turner.
Being the youngest of the Dawson brothers, Tanner was always the victim of their teasing, but it is Tanner who has the expertise to help with their dying crops if only they will let him. He is the intellect of the family but also has the physical finesse to handle working on a ranch. When he goes to the college to get an analysis of his crop sample, he meets Madison and right from the start he is captivated by her. Is there a romance on the horizon for these two?
We have a new batch of Dawson brothers to drool over! Safety, TX has not been to "safe" with them in residence, but they are getting older and growing up, at least somewhat! If this first in the series book is an example of what is to come, you won't want to miss any of their stories!
I loved Stand By Your Man!! I Love Madison and Tanner!! They are such a great couple!! They had a fast connection but they tried to fight it but in the end the love they felt was to strong and they had they happily ever after!! I would recommend this book to everyone!! I would also recommend the whole Dawson Series !!
3 1/2* Tanner has been tasked with helping the family find the cause of their crop problems. Madison works in the lab & is reluctant to work with Tanner his reputation proceeds him. She’s so beautiful and doesn’t know it, he’s hot but their reputation & she’s sworn to secrecy about her work. Can they work together and find the cause? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I am so in love with these Dawson boys. I love how they are so into their families. Tanner has found his match and I couldn’t be happier for him. Can’t wait to hear about the other brothers and their adventures in finding love.
Thank you All for your latest book a really enjoyed it. What amazing characters are Tanner and Madison. I'm so glad they found each other I think it's a bit of fate that brings them , 😊💛 can't wait for more thanks Ali 😊💛💛
I really liked this story. The quest to solve the mystery while finding love and family on the way. Enjoy this story I recommend it if you are looking for a feel good story with a little angst.
The Dawsons continue on with the cousins. Tanner has a degree in agriculture and works on the family farm. Tanner's father has given him the task to figure out what is causing damage to their crops and crops around their hometown. Madison is a researcher at a local college who has been tasked with the job of trying to figure out what is damaging the crops. Madison isn't happy that Tanner will be sharing her lab while trying to find what is causing this blight with the crops. I love the banter between Tanner and Madison. The chemistry between them is hot! Love the laughs that Tanner's siblings provide as Tanner deals with his feelings and attraction to Madison. Can Tanner and Madison find out what is causing the blight to the crops before the Dawson's and others lose their livelihoods? Can Madison keep Tanner in "it is just sex zone?' Can Tanner tell Madison how he really feels? Will Madison realize that Tanner is the one for her? I really enjoyed reading Stand by Your Man by Ali Parker. Would recommend getting this book. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
First of all, I love that there are more Dawsons for us to read about. And since the fathers are a set of three brothers, there might even be one more ranch full of Dawsons out there for us to find. (My fingers are crossed for after we’re done with this batch.) Tanner is the intellectual of the family. He can hold his own under the physical stresses of ranch life, but he has an academic’s soul. Madison is a scientist and researcher. She sees no benefit to much of anything outside her lab. So, what happens when the academic farmer and the lady scientist have to team up to stop the blight that’s killing crops around their town? We get fireworks. The only thing that would have made this story better is if there was more about how the law was going to punish the person poisoning the crops. Otherwise, this book has everything I love most in a Paker novel. There’s emotion, drama, tension, and loads of steamy heat. I can’t wait to read about the next Dawson to fall. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
