About 10 years ago I bought a ticket for a luncheon at a nearby country club where an author I liked was expected to speak. The author got sick and local mystery writer, Taffy Cannon, replaced her. She was interesting and funny. So, a few years later when I saw one of her books at a used book store, I bought it, OR, since it is autographed "To Rita," maybe my friend Rita went with me to the luncheon, bought the book, and gave it to me when she finished it. A few more years have gone by and I finally read it. It held my attention, but I had no idea, until it was revealed in the last chapter, who the murderer was.
