This is a great book for Kindergartners. It introduces the names of shapes such as: circle, stars, and ovals. It also describes characteristics such as sides. This is a good book to use during a geometry lesson and connects to the standard: Recognize and name the following basic two-dimensional figures: triangles, quadrilaterals (rectangles, squares) and circles.
Paul Rogers plays an Ispy game with the kids. He spies different kinds of shape and have the students look for those shapes around the room. This is a good book to read to students (Grades K-2) to learn about the different shapes there are in the world.
This book would be a great one for primary grades to teach basic geometry such as identifing and describing different shapes. Students could compare, create, and compose shapes of different pictures thata re included in this book.
In this book, written like an "I spy" game, students are encouraged to find shapes around them. It is a great way to get them noticing shapes in everyday life.
