Mom Loves Little Jumbo: Hello, I am Jumbo
Little Jumbo’s mama is not only the greatest, but the biggest elephant ever! Naturally, she is not really the biggest in the world but from his perspective, she is a giant. She is brave and protects him; she plays with him, finds the tastiest fruit and cuddles him when it is time to sleep. And best of all—Mama loves him just like he loves Mama.

Mom is big; Jumbo is small. Mom cares for Jumbo in many ways.
This is a lovely little board book that would be perfect for Mother's Day.

Baby "JUMBO" is tiny in relation to Mom, but they mirror each other's simple shapes, basic activities, and expressive eyes. Their shapes and body postures form perfect pairings in each scene, their symmetry creating a lighthearted contrast to the extremes differences in their size. Their colors are always reflective of the other, at times natural and at times interpreting the situation or events with surreal but subdued coloring. Essential details are included on otherwise unframed simple backgrounds, emphasizing the relationship between Jumbo and Mom. Always, the pages are a duet of loving care and reassurance, displayed through explorations of daily life, joy, learning, and love.
Author/illustrator Yasushi Muraki has created this handful of love that is a perfect homage to moms on Mothers' Day and a treasure for the tot-mom pairs throughout the months ahead. In fact, for those who are not biologic moms, the simple roles on page after page of bonding and support reinforce the definition of parenting regardless of bloodlines.

A little Elephant knows his mother loves him, and this is all the reasons! She protects him and plays with him and feeds him good foods - so many way to say I love you.
What a sweet book! I loved how they were elephant things that a child can relate to (rather than an elephant doing child things) A wonderful bedtime read.

Really sweet, simple mom and baby board book with very few words. Great for a family storytime or an elephant/jungle storytime. Received a free e-ARC from Edelweiss+ in exchange for an honest review.

A very cute "mom and me" book--reminded me of Disney's Dumbo and his mom, except more out in the wild. Mom fends off lions, protects little Jumbo from the rain, and plays hide and seek. A nice book to read while cuddling with a parent or grownup.

A little elephant reflects on all the things his mom does for him. Good read aloud for primary students around mother's day.

This board book is completely 100% adorable. It even has a page where Little Jumbo is “hiding” and you have to point him/her out. I would have loved reading this to my kids when they were toddlers.

Clean, deceptively simple artwork and sweet, sparse text let the characters shine in this beautiful ode to a mother's love. Children will delight in Little Jumbo's playful and loving relationship with his mother and recognize their own mothers' love in her attentive care.
