Do you wonder to yourself... What am I doing? What do I really want? How do I live more deeply and meaningfully?
Solving for "WHY" is written to help you ask the right questions and to have greater direction and fulfillment in your life.
Hey, I know how hard it is to sit quietly and reflect. That's why there are many stories in the book, stories from learners like you and stories from the author's own experience as a student, corporate recruiter, career adviser, faculty, and university administrator. The book also contains many specific exercises to help you consider meaningful questions such as... What is matters most to me? What kind of people do I need to know? How will I define success?
This book is meant for those who are interested in understanding their "WHY".
This book will serve well the high school student, teacher, or the college student who is looking for guidance or a resource. It addresses our personal journeys when we transition to that next step, albeit college, a career, or furthering ourselves in general. As a high school teacher, I work with my students to help them decide their futures. This book provides handy dandy little charts that they can fill in to help them figure out why they want to be what they want to be. Leadership, inter & intra-personal skills were an integral part of my learning while I was getting my masters and furthering education. What makes a good leader (insert teacher)? How am I doing with communication and imparting knowledge? What is truly important to me? Why the heck am I putting myself through all this? There certainly is an enlightening seeking sector of the population who will find this well-written book a great resource.
What a fascinating book. The author has certainly led an unconventional life. His travels and work history are pretty amazing. The prose was beautiful. His vocabulary was impressive. I found a lot of beauty and truth in this book. The author's conclusions are not the same as mine but that is the point. In definitely made me think. This book will stick with me for a while. I'd love to find someone to discuss this with. The Ethos of the other really struck a chord with me. I definitely recommend this book. I think I am a little too old for huge life changes but I wonder how my younger self would have been impacted by this book.
Very helpful, interactive text that helps with the discernment process at any point in a career transition. Provides a much more balanced perspective than most business self-help books of this kind. Loved all the quotes and stories as well.
