Cousteau's Great White Shark

Rate this book
Here is the story, in words, photographs, and drawings, of a two-and-a-half-year expedition to the south coast of Australia. The Cousteau team-including scientists, divers, cameramen, and sailors-studied the behavior and biology of the much-feared but little-known great white shark. Myths and lore about the great white are dispelled, leaving an indelible image of a powerful predator of the seas. 125 illustrations in full color, 9 x 113/4"

This was a gift from my parents for my high school graduation... I was on the cusp of starting college as a marine biology major and this book was my good luck charm. A totally different take on the great white shark, filled with vivd photos and emotional stories... a must-read for any shark-lover.

Fantastic account of a series of great white shark research expeditions. An easy read with great pictures and wonderful authorial voice. Although thirty years old from publication, the information gleaned from the research still holds well and the experiences of the team are still fun to read.

Literally my favorite book as a child. Beautiful photographs, amazing stories, will make you love these animals and marvel at how humans interact with wild things.
