This book has lots of information and flaps that lift up as the insects, snails, and garden worms look for the bees in the undergrowth. What would happen without bees to pollinate the flowers and vegetables and fruits. The insects are looking for them and questioning where they could be. Lots of speech bubbles for the insects communicating their discoveries. Interactive for children to read and uncover ideas and finally the bees. Explains why they need the bees to pollinate the plants.
A group of animals find that there are no bees in their garden, so they go looking for them. Along the way, with lift-the-flaps, the caterpillar turns into a chrysalis and we discover info about various bugs and other pollinators. The bees are found in a garden of flowers. The bugs plant the flowers in their own garden and the bees come back.
A great lift-the-flap book with gorgeous illustrations. Kids will love this book with the representations of all sorts of different bugs they might find in their backyard. There is an important message too - we need the bees if we want to continue to grow and eat delicious fruit and veg.
Super cute lil book! Beautiful illustrations, fun and informative. Loved the lift-flaps and the story with the bugger picture of what happens if bees disappear!
An engaging read for little ones and adults alike sending a gentle message about the environment and the importance of bees. The lift the flap element is fun for little ones who keep expecting to find the bees who remain elusive until the final couple of pages. The book is warm, funny and informative. 19m/o Bud found lots to point out on each page and stuck with it.
I would say it is ideally for preschool and up, but the message and images makes it accessible at any level.
