Love is a language that is understood and shared by people all around the world. Whether we’re reading quietly with a loved one or playing on the beach with friends, all across the globe, the love we feel for one another is the same.

3.5 stars. I loved the diverse representations of people around the world and the overall design &illustrations (such a beautiful book to look through), but I found the well-intentioned message a little lackluster. 24 pages.
A rainbow die-cut on the book's cover reveals various scenes around the globe where love is being expressed. Relying on rhyming text, the author describes activities that are shared by family members while the illustrations show how love is shared through watching birds together, reading books, watching fireworks, planting a garden, and enjoying a rain shower or snow storm. Readers' hearts will be filled with love as they observe the various scenes and then notice that the same family whose outing began the book now has a new addition with a baby brother who will require some tender loving care. Not only does this book remind readers that love is a universal language, but it also relies on the clever use of that rainbow die-cut, which becomes part of a brick wall, part of a wall tapestry, and even a bridge.
Cute concept. This library copy is torn--I'm guessing a toddler got to the book, and the cut out design of the pages makes tearing inevitable. The text lacks unity--it just rambles from one idea to the next. On the plus side, the pages are full of people from many cultures and of many different complexions.

I love this book! The diverse representations of people and families are very sweet. I think this is a wonderful way to introduce different families and cultures to a little one. And of course the rainbow is perfect, such a cute cut out.
The illustrations are cute and colorful. The story itself is sweet and all about love. The book does have cutouts, but personally I think they're unnecessary.
I liked how this book touches on how families love all around the world. I think the inclusion is perfect and allows most children to feel represented throughout this text.
