Peanut and Moe are back, this time on a camping trip. Peanut wants to swim NOW, Moe says NOT YET! A sweet and cheerful book about overcoming differences.
Peanut and Moe are back!
Peanut says let's swim Moe says time to hike Peanut says let's swim now Moe says time to eat a snack Peanut says now! Moe says time to put up the tent Peanut says NOW! Moe says NOT YET!
Can these two friends come together in time to save their camping trip?
This has shot to the top of my 5 y/o grandson's reading list. When I first got it from LibraryThing Early Reviewers he was super excited to read it (with help) since he enjoys Too Much! Not Enough! so much. I think he likes this one even more. I like that it has an online printable activity kit that's given us both hours of fun and keeps me from feeling like we're reading the same book over and over. The only other books he reaches for nearly as often are Sandra Boynton's, maybe because of the way both authors mix a little whimsy into their easy to understand stories.
Any kid who has asked “Are we there yet?” will love meeting these critters--impatient Peanut and the more mature Moe. Peanut wants to swim in the lake NOW, but Moe bides his/her/its time by saying, “Not yet!” Along the way, they hike, bird watch, and sit for a snack. Peanut’s impatience builds, pushing Moe to his/her/its limits. A satisfying ending with a splash...and a sweet surprise. Adorable, brightly colored illustrations and spare text by the talented Gina Perry.
My readers and I were so happy to discover that Moe and Peanut are back for more adventure! Now? Not Yet! is a perfect read aloud - and thanks to the simple text, repetition, and plenty of context from illustration clues, pre-readers will quickly be "reading" this one to their grown ups. Every spread is filled with energy, emotion, and humor. Young readers (and parents) will easily recognize and relate to the characters' conflicting priorities and emotions - and will take joy in the comforting, cozy resolution.
Patience and Friendship! Peanut can't wait to go swimming. But his pal, Moe, has a lengthy list of things to do before they can have some fun . . . When Peanut can't wait any longer, the two friends CLASH! Each learns an important lesson along the way, and they work out their differences. (Don't we all have a little bit of Peanut inside of us?) Colorful art and quirky characters make this an entertaining read aloud for little ones. And a sweet surprise lurks at the end of the story! Sure to be a book that kids beg to be read over and over again!
Peanut and Moe are back in their second picture book, this time about delayed gratification. On a camping trip, Peanut wants something NOW, but Moe keeps holding it off to get things done - like eating a snack, getting un-lost, and setting up camp. When Peanut finally get what he/she wants, it's just the right time for swimming. Perry uses colorful illustrations and simple but fun text perfect for children transitioning to early readers. I hope to see more Peanut and Moe stories!
In this new adventure, Peanut and Moe set off to go camping. Peanut is all about swimming, but Moe knows there are a few things they first need to accomplish (hike, snack, make camp). Perry's illustrations broadcast the push and pull of Peanut & Moe's friendship. Of course there's a point where they both have to let off a little steam. Lucky for us, Peanut and Moe have more in common than we might have thought. A perfect emergent reader with a satisfying, sweet ending.
Love Peanut and Moe! This adorable book is relatable to both kids and adults who hate to wait. Both characters personalities add to the story (Moe seems pretty by the book, Peanut is more spontaneous) creating a fun back and forth dialogue. The illustrations are colorful and full of little surprises, my favorite being the heart on the s'mores baggy. A great read along for emerging readers!
Peanut and Moe are back! When Peanut wants to go swimming "now!" and Moe wants to get stuff done first, the two friends must work out their different opinions and still find a way to have fun. In the end, they compromise, and an important lesson is learned. The adorable art adds to the story, and this relatable book is a cute, quick, read for young children.
Peanut and Moe are off on a camping adventure. Peanut wants to go swimming, but Moe insists, "Not yet!" With snacks to eat, bags to unpack, and a tent to set up, will Peanut ever get to go swimming? The charming illustrations and sparse text make this a fun read. Fans of Elephant and Piggie are sure to love this adorable duo.
Moe and Peanut show readers that even opposites can find things to share and develop deep friendships with sacrifice and compromise. Delightful illustrations help show readers both the work and rewards of friendship. I adore Moe and Peanut. I will read this book over and over just to study the tiny surprises in the artwork. Highly recommended book by one of my favorite author/illustrators.
With its camping theme, this book is perfect to read before family vacations or outings. Gina Perry’s lovable characters share the message of friendship, cooperation, and patience in an engaging and humorous way.
Perfect for anyone who has ever dealt with someone saying "can we do this now? what about now? what about now?" The emotions expressed are true to life, and the illustrations are cute. A sweet and funny little story.
Our friends Peanut and Moe are back (make sure you read Too Much! Not Enough!) and ready to go camping. Peanut can't wait to go swimming, but Moe needs to get things ready first. Another fun book about opposites from Gina Perry!!!
Peanut and Moe go on a camping trip. Peanut cannot wait to go swimming in the lake but Moe reminds him there are a lot of things to do first - like hike there and set up camp.
