alternate cover edition of ASIN B07GV5FLYS

Garrett Sullivan’s heart was broken when he learned that the man he was secretly in love with, his best friend, Akio, was head over heels for someone else. Romance writer by trade, starry-eyed dreamer by design, Garrett leaves Chicago to mend his broken heart. After months of wallowing in his own misery, Garrett barely recognizes himself anymore. With only two weeks until he has to return home, he sets off for the beautiful island of Maui, hoping the sand, sea and sun will help him pull himself together.

Dean Wilder has worked very hard to become a household name and for his roles as a leading man in the biggest action films to grace the big screen. Considered one of Hollywood’s sexiest bachelors, Dean has had a string of meaningless relationships. The only thing his past partners have taken seriously are his fame, his fortune and the status they gain by being his plus one. Fed up with playing unfulfilling characters, frustrated and tired of being alone, he longs for serious film roles and a meaningful relationship. Desperate for a break, Dean sets off for his vacation home along a private stretch of beach in Maui.

Sparks fly when Garrett and Dean see each other for the first time, and after a wild night of passion, they agree to spend their vacations together, exploring the island and each other. But what begins as a bit of harmless fun soon turns into so much more than either man bargained for, and they must face some difficult decisions; about their lives, their careers and their hearts.

Another gorgeous romance from Annabella Michaels

This is the first book in the second series to spin off from her excellent Souls of Chicago series and its a great start.

I do love me a sweet, low angsty romance, and that is exactly what's delivered in this lovely book.

Both Garrett and Dean are wonderfully expressed characters and their voices never felt mixed up. I loved watching them slowly fall in love and I really liked how there wasn't any dramady or deliberate plot point miscommunication to create tension.

They met, they became friends, they had insane chemistry and they fell in love. And, with only a little bump on the way, we had a glorious ending and a Happy Ever After.

I love Annabella's books but I felt like this was bit too mushy for my taste and I love romance. I mean don't get me wrong, I did like it. But meh...

Just added this into the Goodreads database (after seeing the blurb + cover reveal + speaking with the author about YAYYYYYYYY this being a new series) :-D and WOOOHOOOOOOO I want, I want, I WANT!!!

ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE ULTIMATE FAVORITE MOMENTS/SEX SCENES HERE [@ 32%]::

"Dean reached for his wallet, quickly pulling out a condom and packet of lube. Holding my hand up, I waited for him to squeeze some lube on my fingers, then I got on my knees and reached behind me, using my slick fingers to slowly work myself open.
“That’s so fucking hot,” he said, reaching his own hand between his spread thighs and getting a firm grasp on his cock.
His eyes remained locked on me as his hand slid up and down his long shaft. Seeing his reaction, I turned my back to him, bending down on one hand and offering my ass up in the air. I heard his shuddering breath as I ran two wet fingers around my rim then dipped them inside, working them in and out, and making sure to put on a good show for him.
A low growl emanated from behind me and I let out a loud moan as I felt Dean’s finger join mine. I luxuriated in the exquisite burn and stretch that came with having three fingers inside me, but I knew it was nothing compared to the feeling of fullness I’d experience once I had that thick cock in my ass. I began grinding myself down on our fingers, desperate for more. Dean removed his finger and I whimpered at the loss, but then I heard the telltale sound of foil tearing, and I watched between my legs as he worked the condom down his cock and then slicked it with lube.
His fingers dug into my hips painfully as he lifted me up onto all fours, but I didn’t care. The only thing that mattered was getting him inside me as quickly as possible. I had never felt so desperate for another person, as if I was sick and he was the only drug that could cure me.
“Please, Dean. I need you,” I choked out.
He answered my need as well as his own, roaring as he slid inside. I gasped as he filled me in one fluid motion, my hands sweeping the area around me for something to hold on to as everything around me began to swirl. He held still, granting me a moment to catch my breath, but that wasn’t what I wanted. Sweat dripped from his body onto my lower back, and it was like throwing gasoline onto an open flame. My eyes rolled back in my head as I gyrated my hips, grinding down on his cock.
“That’s it. Fuck yourself on me. Get yourself off on my cock.” His voice sounded rough and strained as he held himself steady.
I wasn’t interested in only my own pleasure though. No, I wanted to drive him wild, to make him come apart right along with me. Taking control, I rocked my hips forward until only the tip of his cock remained inside then I slammed back quickly, driving myself onto his hard-as-steel rod. I shivered at the pure ecstasy that rippled through me as I repeated the motion, squeezing my inner walls on each stroke forward and milking his cock.
Dean panted hard behind me and I knew he wouldn’t be able to hold out much longer. A few moments later, he swore loudly, his nails digging into my flesh as he began to thrust his hips. I cried out as his cock slammed into me at the perfect angle, the head brushing over my prostate with every stroke.
“God, Dean. You feel so good.” My orgasm built, gaining momentum until I thought I was going to lose my mind if I didn’t get to come. I just needed that one little thing that would put me over the edge.
As if he’d heard my thoughts, Dean reached beneath me and grabbed ahold of my leaking cock, and I cried out at the first brush of his hand over my sensitive flesh. His fist closed around me and he began to stroke in time with his powerful thrusts. Sweat dripped down my face and my fingers gripped the blanket as he pounded into me.
Flashes of color erupted behind my closed eyelids, and I screamed as an all-consuming orgasm thundered through me. My arms gave out from under me, and I fell forward. Dean followed me to the ground, his movements becoming erratic as he chased his own release. Seconds later, I felt his cock grow impossibly larger and his shout rang out in my ears as he filled the condom with his seed.
Dean rolled us onto our sides, curling his arms around me. We lay that way for several moments, his breath warm against my cheek and his chest plastered to my back. I was sleepy and sated and I could feel myself starting to drift to sleep. It was absolute perfection.
"

~ YUP, absolute perfection <3333333333!!

Annnnnd @ 37% ...

Dean looked at me curiously as I walked around to where he stood. “What did you forget?”
I looked toward the mansion then back at him. “I guess I forgot that you’re Vincent Wilder, world-famous celebrity. To me, you’re just Dean Wilder, interrupter of sleep and giver of the mega-gasms,” I teased. I chuckled at my own joke, but Dean didn’t join in. Instead, he stared at me as if he had never seen me before or as if my words had confused him.
For just a second, I worried that I may have upset him in some way, but then he reached for me, pulling me in for a kiss that was so sweet, so achingly perfect, that it left me a little stunned and a whole lot breathless. He held me in his gaze as he rested his forehead against mine. “I like that I’m just Dean to you,” he whispered.

In that moment, alone in a clearing on the side of a mountain, he was just a man. A man who sounded as lonely as I was.

⚠The time it took for Dean and Garrett to get all homey with each other was suspiciously short for my taste(it was also too easy to be true). 😒

✿ツOther than that... It was an OK for me.. ✔️✿

This was my first Annabella Michaels book.

A little late I realized that some of the side characters have their own books. And our character Garrett has a past with Akio whom we see his story on the fifth book from Souls of Chicago. And I was going into this a bit blind but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it.

Garrett has gone away to deal with his bruised heart after he got rejected by Akio. For months he hid at his cabin until his best friend called and made him see things differently. His writing had not been going well. He had a deadline coming up soon and no book to show, he avoided everyone but it was time to stop. He was not himself. So he books a vacation to Maui. The beach and fresh air would do him good right?

Dean is an actor. His job brings him a lot of stress and he is feeling alone. The movies he wanted to act in, no one wanted to make. Going to his house in Maui for two weeks would be good. There he meets Garrett.

When they see each other at the bar and Dean approaches Garret, Garrett has no idea who he is and that is refreshing for Dean. Being famous, everyone all ever wanted was your money or your connections and Garrett was nothing like that.

They decide to spend their holidays together.

Such a sweet story as we see them get to know each other, and their plenty sex scenes were hot. It was too sweet for me to be honest and very low angsty but I liked it. I would have loved to have read the other series to know some characters better but that was no issue at all!

This was a really good read. I wanted to read this book after reading book 5 in the " Souls of Chicago series" . Garrett Sullivan is nursing a broken heart he told Akio that he was in love with him and kisses him and Morgan decked him. He stayed away from his friends and family for months until his friend Travis called him and snapped him out of it. So he heads to Hawaii before heading home. Dean Wilder is one of Hollywood's hot action stars but he needs a break so he heads to his house on Maui he is lonely and in his career he wants to play softer more emotional roles. These two meet in a bar and Garrett has no idea who he is until fans come up and ask for an autograph. When these two hook up it was hot and heavy they agree to spend there vacation with each other. They begin to open up to each other as Dean showed Garrett around the island. These two fell in love in two weeks but was afraid to tell the other. Dean didn't think that Garrett would be comfortable with the paparazzi taking pictures of him and Garrett thought that he wasn't good enough to be in the spotlight. I also liked that Garrett's friend's welcomed him back and was even upset with him because he left and was hurting. This was a really good read. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am hoping that the author writes about Travis or Jasper next.

Oh boy! This one was sweet 😍 if you’re looking for a vacation romance to swoon over then look no further..

Dean is an A list celebrity taking a much needed break at his vacation home in Maui and Garrett is a heartbroken romance author trying to find himself whilst on holidays.

It’s a whirlwind Hawaiian love story as these two meet and instantly feel a connection. Two weeks is the plan, a vacation fling! But their feelings are there, plain as day but neither are going to voice it though thinking the other deserves better.

Prepare to be a little sucker punched when they part ways, your heart kind of breaks right along side theirs 😭 they have so much chemistry and are both so fricken sweet you’ll want to drag them back to the island so they can reconnect.

The side characters were all so loving and relatable making this a very easy read! Book 2 in the series, Etched on my Heart is set to release on April 15th and I personally can’t wait for more.

Great book, great story, no angst, lots of awesome side characters.
Just, too mushy, too much butterfly feeling in your stomach for my taste. It's a beautiful story. Well written. Just, kinda way too perfect, way too expected..
It's a spin off of another series, I didn't know that. Can be read easily as a standalone. There is just lots of side characters, all in couple (you meet near the end of the book) so, I figure they already have their one book.

Writers Block

Garrett’s publisher is hassling him for an overdue book and he hasn’t written a word in over a month. He is a writer of Gay Romantic Fiction.
To top off his misery, he has destroyed his friendship with one of his best friends.

What did he do? He kissed Akio, told him he loved him, all on the spur of the moment, just after Akio introduced Garrett, Jasper and Travis to his boyfriend, Morgan. Morgan punched him in the nose. 😵‍💫. A snap decision because he was afraid he was losing Akio, his closest friend of them all.

These were the guys who had been his best friends since College, like brothers to him. He’s embarrassing and ashamed that he’s hurt them all and damaged their friendship.

Feeling hassled by his publisher and afraid to face friends and family, he immediately decides to head off to the wilderness in Tennessee to his grandfathers cabin, telling no one. A month later, he still hasn’t written a word.

He comes across a picture of a sunny beach, blue skies and rolling waves, decides he needs a change of scenery. After booking accommodation and flight he leaves next morning for Maui, in Hawaii. Another snap decision.

Delighted with his surroundings and the small bungalow with its stoop facing the beach, he gets to see life going on as he sips his coffee. He also notices the gorgeous, tall, fit, dark haired guy taking his run each morning.

In need of some company he strolls to the bar along the beach, when someone sidles up and sits on the adjacent stool, he’s speechless when he recognises the ‘running man’ from the beach. ‘ Hi, I’m Dean, can I buy you a drink? Or, another and another!! Then they had to leave in a hurry because of an incident!!!!

When Dean walks Garrett back to his bungalow, Dean kisses him, and snap, snap, Garrett decides to invite him in. Dean doesn’t leave until the early hours.

**********

Did I enjoy ‘ Written on My Heart’? No, I loved it, yes it was a bit instalove, but both parties kept it quiet, each to themselves. They didn’t believe it could go anywhere. Holiday Romance, don’t you know, never does. Dean lived in California, Garrett in Chicago, opposite sides of the country.

But when you have friends like Jasper, Travis, Akio and Bethany to kick your stubborn butts into action, you need to listen, and listen good.

Garrett and Dean both grabbed my heartstrings from the get go, they both deserved to find their one. Garrett grew up surrounded by a loving family, Dean had a nightmare childhood until his friend Bethany ‘rescued’ him.

Brilliant storytelling, gorgeous setting, and two lovable MC’s, and a great set of side characters, who hopefully will feature in book 2 of Annabelle Michaels ‘My Heart’ series.

You won’t regret the few hours it takes to go on this journey from Chicago, to Tennessee to Maui in the company of two adorable MC’s who will have you rooting for them all along the way.

Oh, did I mention the steamy passion here is hotter than the midday sun in Maui. ♥️♥️💥💥🔥🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Go get your ticket 😂🤣

OMG, I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying!! What a poignantly, heart-grabbing, tooth-aching book. I love Annabella's "home and heart" books and how it always seems to encompass soul searching and soulmates. This is a spin-off from the Souls of Chicago series and highly recommended. Make sure to read Constructing the Soul, book 5 as a introduction to this book [not really necessary, but it is a good segue as events leading up to this book occurs.]

Garrett and Dean were meant to be. The writer and the A list actor had no other choice when they met in paradise and took a chance on each other. I loved the flow of the story, the less angst the better. Both men could not have met anyone else better for themselves. Dean needed someone who'd wrap him up in family and love and Garrett needed to be pulled out of his funk and find himself.

Always good to revisit old characters and the men of Chicago Soul are always welcomed. Great story, loved the story line and cannot wait for the next story in this universe. Travis or Jasper, I don't care. I just need all these men to get their HEA.

What an appropriately titled book – but then author Annabella Michaels always writes to the beat of the readers’ hearts, speaking in such a way that it’s easy to slip into the characters themselves, experiencing the emotions, the moments… and it’s almost like being woven right into the story as if it was the present.

And I was smitten with Dean and Garrett.

Honestly I remember very little about Garrett from Akio’s and Morgan’s story, but it didn’t matter. The approach to this story was so refreshing – it was about building up these two as a couple – learning about each other without weaving in distress and angst and conflict to create a story. It was sweet – except for the sex, which was smoking hot yet deliciously romantic, loving, and fantastical. It was so easy to believe that these two loved and were in love with one another.

Loyal readers will be pleased to discover that Michaels has returned several much-loved characters from previous books (but no worries, Written on My Heart can be read as a standalone).

One thing that struck me about this story was that it maintained the same level of intensity from start to finish – no easy task – and even the perceived angst when Dean and Garrett returned to their respective homes at the conclusion of their Hawaiian vacation didn’t ease off the accelerator. Love. Hope. It was all so right. Dean and Garrett were so right. The piece de resistance, though, is the epilogue – everything truly comes full circle in the most satisfying way possible.

Expert character development, perfect story pacing, off the charts hot sex, and wonderful writing and storytelling – Michaels delivers on point yet again.

Annabelle just keeps getting better and better...

Garrett, a romance writer, made a fool of himself professing his love for Akio, which was a mistake. In turn, Garrett runs off to hide, embarrassed at what he both said and did.
After some time at his grandfather's cabin, he hasn't gotten any writing done instead, he's lost himself. He decides a trip to Hawaii might perk him up, getting some sun. Little does he know who he'll meet and how it affects him. The turning point of him being able to forgive himself for what happened with Akio.

Dean Wilder wanted time to decompress from his job and all that comes with the job. He sees Garrett and thinks he might be a way to help decompress. So much I want to say about Dean, his job, his best friend and his life before he met Garrett.
Needless to say, Garrett was something (someone) he didn't know how much he needed. Garrett fills some huge holes left from a crummy upbringing.

All I can say is chapter 15 had me weepy, the epilogue had tears. Be prepared!!

Awesome start to a new series. LOVE each new book and with spin-offs like this the side characters you fell in love with get more depth and their own happy ending. We met Garrett in 'Constructing the Soul -Souls of Chicago series' and he wasn't in the best place at the end of that. Garrett definitely breaks your heart and you can relate since I think everyone has liked someone that didn't return those feeling. He is sweet, shy and awkward at times which makes him sexy and special. In comes the hot alpha movie star Dean who is more then what people see he's a nice guy and wants to be happy. These two fall for each other without meaning to. Add in side characters from the past series and a island background and I couldn't put this down. I laughed, cried and cheered these guys to overcome their insecurities and take a chance. Loved the ending and can't wait to see what more can come from this Universe.

Absolutely loved it!

This first book in the new My Heart series is a spin off from the Souls of Chicago series however you don’t have to have read those books in order to completely enjoy this one...it’s strongly recommended that you do but just because they are great books too!

I loved Garrett and Dean and the author does a fantastic job of developing their characters throughout the story arc. The plot moves at a great pace and the writing is full of emotion. There’s humor, sadness, joy and relief. You can really feel the emotions the characters are experiencing and you truly root for them as a couple to get what they want in life, and not just the romantic HEA but in other aspects of their lives as well.

Once again Michaels emphasizes family...the ones we are born with and the ones we make...and the power they have to enrich and complete our lives. It’s a great book that I read in one all nighter as I couldn’t put it down.

Love is love

Inspiring account for love when you are not looking or even at your lowest.
Garrett thought he felt love, but soon realised he was confusing deep friendship with that emotion. Meeting Dean awaken those confused feelings. Suddenly he knew this person made him feel and do things that brought him joy.
Dean was only looking for a brief holiday fling. Never expected to find the one. The person who saw him, and not money or fame.
I loved the chemistry and the ease in which the friendship was formed.
I read this book really fast, I could not wait for them to have their happy ending.
Good read.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. Such a great love story with wonderful characters. From their initial meeting through their journey, I was enamored. Dean and Garrett were meant to be together, despite all the differences in their lives. They just meshed. I had tears of sadness and joy. Dean was such a kind and considerate person and treated Garrett to a wonderful time throughout the two weeks they had together. I was so sad when they parted ways, frustrated that they were so considerate of each other's lives that they were ruining what could be a fantastic life. So glad they finally got it together.

Really Great (But Need the Audiobook)

This was a really great story. I loved being introduced to these characters in Aiko’s book. The only downside for me is not having an audiobook. I really hope Annabella will add one to all of her stories at some point for readers like me with Dyslexia. Fortunately, I’m now able to use Speechify which helps greatly for those ebooks without an audiobook. I’ve now read several of Annabella’s book and I’ve loved reading every one of them so far. This books was no different. I saw that Jasper’s book is next. I can’t wait to read it. I hope Travis’ book will be released soon. It will be interesting to see him fall in love.

We met Garrett in the Souls of Chicago series he is heartbroken when Akio marries Morgan. He takes off to his grandfather's cabin to lick his wounds but after several months he hasn't gotten anywhere. Before he heads back to Chicago he treats himself to a trip to Hawaii.
Dean is a hot movie star that just wants two weeks to unwind. The sparks between Garrett and Dean are of the charts.
This is a really sweet story of two lonely souls finding their mate and getting that HEA that they thought wouldn't happen.
Written on My Heart is a great start to a new series.

Well Annabella Michaels has totally out done herself with this story. Garrett who is dealing with a bruised heart and Dean who just wants someone to see the real him. They end up in the same place at the same time and their story begins. This is one of the most amazing beautiful story I have read. Annabella really writes something so special as the angst is not high but the pure beauty of this kept me totally glued to each page. I very highly recommend this book as I do all of her books. such an amazing writer. 5 stars plus plus plus plus plus

Garrett and Dean are a sweet couple and the sex is quite hot. I also understand Garrett's mortification and stress over the situation with his best-friend, Akio. I thought the romance between Garrett and Dean was well-developed, not too insta-love, maybe a bit of insta-lust. But the ending of the book was way too mushy and cringey for me, when Garrett confronts Akio and Morgan and then his other 2 friends. Too many "drama" emotions, too much mush, too...I don't know, annoyingly girly-girl for me, I guess.

Beautiful love story

This was a classic romance story that I loved! The MCs were well done, the story was not overblown or terribly angst, just 2 beautiful men who met and fell in love. There were a few issues but they were perfectly resolved without unnecessary drama! This book is the exact kind of story that caused me to fall in love with romance books! I wish I had more stars to give!
