This is one of my favorite books from childhood and I finally landed a copy for my daughter. This little story is about a girl named Jenny who spends her summers at her grandmother's house by the beach. Jenny finds two kittens, but her parents say that their apartment in the city is too small for two kittens. Jenny must make a decision that will make everyone happy. The story is wonderful and the illustrations are beautiful. Lovely vintage book.
This was always one of my favorite books as a kid and it holds true to today.
This follows Jenny as she goes on her normal summer trip to visit her grandma and ends up finding two kittens one day. She befriends them and takes care of them all summer and falls in love with them.
It's such a cute story and I adore the kittens so much.
Always a delight and a book that brings back lovely memories.
During a summer at her Granny’s, Jenny discovers two adorable fur balls in a cave while waiting out a storm.
This is a favorite picture book from my early childhood. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and friendly. It also has two of my favorite things: kittens and a cave! I reread it for the 2017 Popsugar Reading Challenge: a book you loved as a child. My copy may be old and frail, but it is still very well-loved!
I've been looking for the name of this book for 9 months, I finally found it I read this as a child and I'm just so enamored by the beautiful illustration. I'm so relieved to know that it's beloved by so many and I will be trying to find a copy for myself & young daughter!
This book features two of my favourite things: summer days and cats. Enough said! Jenny has spunk for a girl; she's out and about swimming, collecting mussels, climbing trees and fishing. A great active role model to counter all those little princesses and ballerinas so prevalent in children's books.
My daughter loved this book and now my granddaughter is loving it too. It is a cute, gentle story, with a dilemma about how best to give two little lost kittens a new home. The illustrations are superb. Our Little Golden Book has survived almost thirty years and still has plenty of reading years to go!
My son and I really enjoyed this story about a little girl who summers with her grandmother and finds a pair of kittens. One is adventurous and likes to explore; the other is quiet and likes to sleep in her lap. At the end of summer, will Jenny's parents let her bring the kittens home? She faces a difficult decision, but one that my toddler could understand, and still felt like a happy ending.
We were able to check this book out at the library. I would love to own a copy of this book, but it is hard to find at a reasonable price, since it is out of print. I have enjoyed this book since childhood. I am glad that I got to share it with my girls. They like it too.
