Selling Strengths: A Little Book for Executive and Life Coaches About Using Your Strengths to Get Paying Clients

Rate this book
The aim of this little book is To get you paying clients. To do that, I’m suggesting a radical change in the way you sell yourself and your coaching services. The easiest way to get paying clients is by identifying, using, and promoting your greatest strength—by leveraging who you are. The next time you approach a potential client, why not be yourself? Why not be the best of yourself? Sure, prepare for the meeting or call. Spend some time studying, preparing, presenting your coaching ideas and services in a concise manner, but work from the inside out. Focus on you, first, on those actions that occur instinctively and without effort. Then, look outside yourself at your market, your small target of companies or individuals, and finally at the prospect in front of you.

Extremely Quotable; Left Some Loops Unclosed

Simple is not (usually) easy, but the method suggested here for enrolling clients and offering services based on strengths, just might be. There were a lot of passages worthy of highlighting, for sure, for revisiting and repetition. However, the connection to The Assessment feels either a smidge too tight or too loose to folks who aren’t certified (not quite sure which), and a few themes got much more attention than others (which may have been deliberate; simply noting it here).

Fast, Easy Read with Good Info

Stories and personal narrative that describe why it is important to focus on strengths rather than weaknesses when selling coaching services. The authors examples were helpful and made me think that I can do this!

Refreshing and concise

I like the focus on strengths. The fact we should lean into utilizing our best strengths to build client base.

Good premise, perhaps more guidance

I appreciate the basic premise: use your strengths not only in coaching, but in explaining your services as a strengths coach. Your passion and abilities will make an easy and natural sale. I would have liked more details and ideas for figuring out how to leverage my strengths to develop my coaching niche - e.g., a process or series of questions, perhaps. Good idea and good to start with.
