Excellent course. I did the program through Udemy and the information in here is not only enlightening it's healing. I encourage anyone who's interested in energy healing to look into this and invest some time studying the subject and applying the lessons learned in ones life and practicing the skills. You will gain so much more confidence in the ability to not only heal yourself but those around you.
I first encountered reiki when the ex studied it as part of her massage therapy education back in the first years of the 21st century, and consequently I imagined it as a form of bodywork.
So when an old friend who had newly become a Reiki Master (which I am also now, apparently—more below) wanted to practice giving an "attunement" and asked me to be one of his Guinea pigs, my curiosity kicked in and I said sure. He also wanted me to buy and read this book, and I said sure. (I read another book I already had on hand first. Ugh.) He performed the "attunement" remotely—and asynchronously—which made me wonder about the whole bodywork angle. How can you massage someone remotely and asynchronously?
I read this book, and it turns out reiki ain't massage, at all. It describes itself as form of "energy work" (meaningless in terms of physics, more intriguing in the language of esotericism) and is, in very brief, a form of "laying on of hands." Instead of faith healing, the reiki practitioner channels the "natural healing reiki energy" of the cosmos to cleanse and balance their own chakras and those of another. The aforementioned other book teased the reader with mentions of unrevealed symbols; this book, written in the age of the internet, just shows the blessed things since they're out there anyway.
There's a good deal of info in here about reiki as a business, in which I have no interest. I'll stick with it as a form of slowing down, relaxing, stretching, and paying attention to my bodymind, with any putative etheric cleansing and balancing as a plus. And apparently the third attunement made me a Reiki Master, a pupa if not a pupil.
I have already completed level 1 & 2 so it didn't take me long to read. It is informative and, in my opinion, one of the better Reiki books I have read. It may be controversial, but she offers distant attunements at a very reasonable price. I agree that more people should be able to use energy to feel better or heal themselves if possible. After all, energy is free, it us people's time, skill, and knowledge we pay for.
I wrote a long review and it deleted it. Not gonna rewrite it. But this was a great book. Highly recommend it. Has great history, tips, extra knowledge. As a reiki practitioner you can never stop learning or perfecting your craft. Every teacher can teach you something. Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t. Just stay true to the core principles.
Thank you for writing such a detailed book, I read this in a week and found it so informative and really inspirational. Lots of life advice which I will take on board. I highly recommend this book to further your Reiki studies, you will learn so much more than you realise.
