Spared the death penalty, Glen and his companions have a second chance, but they must remain under the watchful eye of Arthur, the judge ordered to oversee their every move and root out the one called Melvin. Exposing Melvin’s true identity will put them all at risk. Desperate to protect him and themselves, each claim the name and the responsibility for anything that may happen. Their willingness to band together to protect one of their own captures Arthur’s attention. Soon, he comes to see them for who they truly are. That places him in a moral dilemma. Xander, a judge who’d rather see them dead, is vying for full control. When someone is murdered in their presence, Glen and his companions know it’s only a matter of time before one of them is framed for the crime, or worse, Melvin’s secret is exposed, and they are once again sentenced to death. Will, they survive this desperate struggle or will enemy forces prove to be too much to bear?
Loved the set of books with great characters and a terrific plot.
As I read this series I was amazed at the closeness the writer developed between the characters. Most of the storyline finished up, but I still feel like there needs to be one more book to have the perveribl happy endings. Glenn, Melvin, and Chantal need to find their life partners. The boys need to start being acknowledged as learning specific roles for the later betterment of the communities. Thanks for the series.
I loved the series of all the books. Great reading the ending was fantastic. So glad they all came together in the end . They brought back a whole city where everyone got along with each other. Everyone chipped in to bring it back. Great writer can’t wait till his next books come out. It’s a must read.
Glen and his group are in Detroit attempting to help the needy. After connecting with a medic, they all run up against the existing power structure and evil as well as good within it.
This book concludes in Detroit, with an ending that ties up the loose ends and with some hopefulness.
Oddly enough in the first two books the apocalypse is caused by a solar flare and in the third and last book it is an EMP causing the apocalypse. Nevertheless it is well-written and has an original story line in that society rebuilds slowly with the people being led by medical people.
So enjoyed knowing that a society could spring up out of the ashes like a Phoenix. A wonderful read inspirational and full of hope and new beginnings for the wise.
A wonderful series. Full of hope and to see it prosper at the ending was wonderful. I connected with the characters and loved how they truly cared for one another.
J loved this book. The characters are wonderful, and the writing makes you feel part of the story. I look forward to many more books to follow this wonderful group.
