USA Today Bestselling author, W.J. May, continues the highly anticipated bestselling YA/NA series about love, betrayal, magic and fantasy. Be prepared to fight, it's the only option.
I will fight for those I love.
The five kingdoms may have been saved, but the battle is far from won.
Katerina Damaris finally takes her place on the throne, only to realize that the crown isn't what she thought it would be. Friends become kingdoms. Lovers become a liability. Secret promises are broken to protect the greater good.
Caught in the middle of political circus, Katerina must choose between ruling her kingdom or following her heart. Alliances are strained, borders are tested, and whispers of an old enemy resurrected hang like a shadow over the realm.
Can Katerina keep the peace? Will the five kingdoms ever be truly reunited?
Most importantly, can she and the others figure out the prophecy in time?
Be careful who you trust. Even the devil was once an angel.
Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.
The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.
At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.
But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.
Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.
Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).
After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.
Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.
She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.
I wasn't sure how the story was going to be handled after the arc of the first six books, but I think this is a really strong and terrifying entry in it. I liked it better than the last 2 books of the series. Am I evil for rooting for Kat and Dylan to break up PLEASEEE like. Idk the angst would be niceeee. And I want the blood connection with Aidan to be explored more, but I'm sure these tensions will all explode in two or three more installments.
This book got me re excited about reading this series. I really like sera and kailas-- I'm thrilled he's like... slowly becoming more and more there. I think he's an interesting character.
This book felt funnier than the rest so far. And also better? I noticed more editing mistakes BUTTTT I feel like there were more jokes and also the tense moments were written better. Idk 3.75 stars I enjoyed it much more than a few other books in this series. I think partially it could be the fact that there's been so many pages now (what, ~1200???) that I'm... kindaaaa invested, and can appreciate the rapport and relationships of the characters all more. Idk. Really liked this book. Onward to the next!
Okay, so it's hard to tame the teenagers and dancers aren't for everyone. We learn more about the pasts of our favorite team and more about the prophecy. I can honestly say that I figured out the bad guy almost from the start for the first books, although, I'm not sure if he was a bad guy.... hmmm but so far for this one, I don't have a clue. I do have to say that May isn't afraid to hurt her characters. Ouch!
Love the book but would have preferred to see the prince in action. Showing is power as a dragon instead of providing a glimpse of past event escaping from the dungeon. But over all the story is wonderful and emotion entertaining. Whereby sibling reunited and love prevails.
I LOVED THIS SERIES! My ONLY critique is that I wish she hadn't mentioned twinkling eyes so much my. I read this book and series very quickly many of them in one sitting, and found myself dreaming of it's characters, yelling at them or for them, laughing, crying, I just got complete caught up on each book.
I love the Queen's Alpha Series and could not put them down. It has a great mixture of characters and I wonder how it will all be resolved. I do hope readers will not be left in the air as I hate unresolved stories.
Anytime a women can turn into a dragon you know it’s a good read. I love how this saga is about teens having to figure out how to run kingdoms and want to be better than their parents were.
