Incredible! Once you begin this book it is impossible to put down without finishing it!

The 7th book in the Flight Risk Cozy Mystery series is fantastic! Pauline and Kendall has spent some time with Pauline's grandchildren in Georgia. Pauline's next special travel adventure with Kendall is to Paris, but Pauline sent Kendall ahead for a day or two by herself saying she wanted to spend another day with her family. Kendall was last in Paris when she did some study abroad and was looking forward to return, but missed Pauline. So Pauline set up a special day for Kendall without her which included a horse drawn carriage ride to a special dinner in the Eiffel Tower. "That Pauline!" When she gets there she is treated like royalty and has the surprise of her life all set up by Pauline and Kendall's boyfriend! And at the end of the evening there is another surprise, someone gets pushed off of the Eiffel Tower. That person looks like Rodney her seat mate on the plane ride over who helped her set up her very own Blog. Her boyfriend, Jack, gets arrested because he had an argument with Rodney in the men's room of the restaurant and although he was with Kendall at the base of the tower, the police think it is an easy case, just charge the tourist. Pauline is on her way and she and Kendall work to solve the mystery and clear Jack's name. When the real Rodney shows up at the police station very much alive, Jack is released and Kendall, Pauline and Jack tries to figure out how Rodney had an exact double who was murdered, was he Rodney's brother? There are so many fantastic twists and turns and things you wouldn't guess, you have to read this book in one sitting! This book is amazing and the circumstances surrounding all the events are incredible. I can't wait to see what their next adventure is going to be like when they travel to Australia! I received an ARC but the opinions here are strictly my own.

Kendell goes to Paris alone while Pauline spends a few extra days with her granddaughters. Once Kendell is there, Pauline has everything set up for her first night there including a carriage ride to the Eiffel Tower and dinner there. There Jack surprises her when he asks her to marry him. The friend Kendell made on the plane, Rodney, congratulates them and another couple does to. As Jack and Kendell are leaving, a man is thrown from the tower. That man is Rodney! Someone said they saw Jack and the man argue, and Jack is arrested for the murder, even though he wasn't anywhere near him at the time he is pushed from the window! Pauline rushes to Paris, and things really get complicated! What you might ask? You will have to read the book to find out.

I do love this book series. Pauline's staying in Georgia while Kendell heads to Paris by herself. She meets a nice young man named Rodney who has a successful blog to advise her how to set up a blog. He's also set up 4 tiers for donations to support her blog based on her travels with Pauline and Dot.
When she arrives at her hotel she's very impressed and Pauline has arranged for her to dine at the restaurant located at the Eiffel Tower. She's also arranged a carriage rid to the restaurant. When she gets there she has a wonderful surprise, her boyfriend Jack is standing there. It seems that Pauline's been in on Jack's surprise. He's not only there but he's on one knee.! She says yes of course. After dinner they walk in the gardens when a body falls from the restaurant. It's Rodney. And Jack is taken in for questioning after being seen having words with the dead guy. Good thing Pauline will be there the next day.
WillPauline and Kendell clear Jacks name?

Kendall and Pauline always manage to find a murder to help solve as they travel around the world, but this time it is personal. When a new friend is murdered, they try to figure out who did it, but it becomes so much more complicated. Always a fun time with these two. Looking forward to their next adventure.

French Fatality, the 7th book in Susan Harper's Flight Risk Cozy Mystery Series, didn't provide me with the much sought after "glued to my seat" reading experience as previous books in the series have done. Not a big fan of the book.

For me, the entire subplot regarding Jack and Pauline's storyline was stretching the imagination too far. I've never liked the reasoning/circumstances given behind Pauline and Kendall's relationship as"traveling companions" and honestly I am less enthused with the bringing together if Jack and Pauline. The less the premise for how these two women hooked up is mentioned the better in my opinion. I believe the author pushed the bar a bit too far with the Kendall and Pauline's backstory. I don't leak spoiler's in my reviews but I would be remiss to not mention that the sudden appearance of Kendall's boyfriend Jack into the story was lame and unbelievable. Believability is high on my list for what makes a good book. There are a few believability issues with this series in my opinion.
The author's creatively developed lighthearted crime capers are the saving grace of the series. Usually I am anxious to read the latest release in a series to learn more of the characters and their interactions. This series is the exception to that rule. I anxiously await new releases to see what type of mayhem the author has planned for her amateur sleuthing team. Unfortunately (and surprisingly) French Fatality didn't earn many bravados for its storyline either. The story felt rushed and poorly developed. As a huge fan of Ms. Harper it pains me to be so critical but French Fatality was a fail in my book.

French Fatality by Susan Harper

MCs Kendall and Pauline spend some time in England visiting the latter's family. Pauline has arranged for Kendall's boyfriend Rodney to propose to Kendall during a romantic meal in the City of Love, Paris. Pauline tells her friend she wants to spend a little more time with her loved ones and sends Kendall on ahead. All seems to be going to plan, but during a trip alone to the Eiffel Tower, Kendall and her fellow-tourists are horrified when a sightseer, (with whom Kendall became acquainted during the flight) is pushed to his death from the Tower. Even worse, Rodney is accused for some bizarre reason!
How will things get sorted out? Can Kendall and Pauline clear Rodney's name?
Who is Jack? How is he involved in the case? Is he telling the truth about what he tells the women?
What name did Kendall's airplane companion give her? Does Kendall know the victim?
Will the French police believe Rodney's pleas of innocence?
An excellent cozy-mystery by the superb Susan Harper, French Fatality is Book 7 in the Flight Risk Cozy Mystery series, that will entertain you and have you in occasional fits of laughter. You'll love it!

Flight attendant Kendell McDonald is getting ready for her next adventure with her retired friend Pauline. This time they are heading to Paris, but Pauline is having some family time in Georgia first so Kendell starts the trip on her own.

Pauline planned some fun and romance for Kendell so she won’t feel too lonely. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot, but I will say the beautiful trip to Paris winds up a search for a murderer. As usual, Kendell and Pauline find themselves in the thick of a murder mystery. Once Pauline arrives in Paris, the investigating begins.

This might be my favorite book of the series. There is romance, but it takes a backseat to the mystery which is how I love my cozy mysteries. Kendell and Pauline’s relationship has grown quite a bit since the first book. Although the mystery is self-contained in this book, I think this is a series best enjoyed starting with the first book. This is book #7 and I've read been reading the series in order. They are quick reads that can be read in a few hours.

Really good mystery. I've read the other books in this series, and to me this is the best!! It begins differently with Kendall going by herself to Paris and Pauline and Dot coming later! A lot of good action in Paris and a great mix-up!
