Amazing Grayson

Rate this book
They're going to have the ride of their lives…

Greer Declan is finally settling into her new town. After a nasty divorce and an ex who ended up in prison (isn't karma great sometimes?), it was finally time to start somewhere new. That somewhere is Flinton, Texas… home of Vikings football, her big brother Jack, and All Hands Farm - a dairy farm that specializes in helping special needs high schoolers learn vital life skills.

Grayson Whitman, known as Ace to his friends, has spent his life taking care of others. From his mother, to his brother, to the kids in the specialized program he runs, his life has never really been his own. He's not complaining. He's just… bored. That is, until Greer's son Oli joins the program.

Neither have conventional situations But Greer and Ace quickly learn that life's difficulties are actually what makes it amazing.

**Amazing Grayson is a three part story that follows the evolution of Greer and Ace's relationship. Each part can be read as a stand alone story, but combined, they create the complete novel.***

As the parent of a special needs child, I can say this story touches on just about every aspect of it. Especially, when parenting a typical child as well. Like Greer with Julie, I often times rely on my typical child to be much more responsible and just over all MORE. Her role in my life has developed into much more than anyone could have expected. She became a caregiver, advocate, and was pushed to a level of maturity she may not even had been prepared for, like Julie.
I completely related to Greer in the parenting aspect of the story. I’m not ashamed to admit, at times my typical child’s needs have been placed on the back burner while I’ve been putting out fires with my special needs one and finding the balance has been difficult. So, I can totally see where and why things went the way they did with Julie and their family dynamic is not so foreign to me. I think this is why this story means so much to me.
Ace was the H every woman has been waiting for. He was patient, understanding, and a good balance to Greer’s hectic life. He forced her to find a balance and showed her she didn’t have to be the only hero in the story of her life. He showed her it was ok to let her guard down and even step back and let him take the reins. So many real life women in Greer’s situation need that. Through Ace and Greer, Carter gave me hope and some much needed laughter. I felt like she understood me, my family, and our story.
One of the things I love about Carter’s stories is that they are as true to life as fiction can get. There is no formula for the perfect H or h. They are just as flawed as we are in real life, looking for their own piece of happiness in this world. I love all of her books but this one will always have a special place in my heart because it could have just as easily been MY story.

I adored Amazing Grayson, and that really the surprised me. I don't typically enjoy reading about couples over 40, I find it it a little more difficult to relate to their struggles. I related to Greer a lot more than I anticipated, she is a struggling single mom and book editor. Meet me, a single mom who is a book blogger. #twinning-ish

So there are many differences between myself and Greer, I'm not divorced, I only have one son and he's not on any spectrum, but I still believe that all mothers can relate with what Greer has gone through and her your life completely revolves around your child once you have one. If someone calls with a problem with your kid you have to drop everything and go.

Grayson is one special man! The way he not only treated Greer, but he children was nothing short of heart melting. He had me falling in love with him just by loving her children and putting her ahead of needs ahead of his own. He actually took the time to woo her and make her feel like a woman and not just a mom.

Amazing Grayson was a great read that had me enamored from the start!

WOW!! I am constantly amazed by ME Carter! I love every book she has ever written and I swear they get better every time! Amazing Grayson is so beautiful! There is not a ton of drama or angst, but I did cry in a very beautiful way! Ace and Greer are so perfectly human in the most beautiful way! All of the supporting characters are so amazing! FIVE STARS will NEVER be enough for this one!

Love, Love, Love, Love, LOVE!!!

This book!!! Man, this book had it all. An amazing BBF, a sassy mom of two, a headstrong teenager, and a very special young man made this a very enjoyable read. I LOVED the storyline and the dialogue. I LOVED that it made me laugh (Pedro and Ace are hilarious together) and tear up a little bit.
Once again, this author delivered the goods.

5-STARS!!!

Another great one

I love that you continue to find us good men to love over 40. It gives me hope that I can still find a good one who will accept me and my kids. Grayson is making me want to go check out some farms.

Let's face it, divorce is never an easy thing to go through. When you add to that a nasty soon to be ex-husband, two teenagers, one of them with disabilities, who have time to find love again?

Amazing Grayson is a very relatable story of a mother finding balance between raising kids and finding the time to re-start a life for herself. Greer wasn't looking for love, but when love comes knocking on her door in the form of her son's counselor she has to decide if she's going to give it a go or just keep life as is. Grayson has been dedicated to his family and farm most of his live, he let life pass him by until he meets Greer and he decides to take a chance at love.

I just LOVE these #MyNewLife stories. They're real, they deal with adults that are not into inciting drama where it doesn't belong, and no doubt we all can relate to them one way or another. This book deals with real life issues and Carter does it with some humor and a whole lot of heart.

Ace (Grayson) is a wholesome country boy, good natured, hard worker and with a heart of gold. Greer is an independent woman trying to raise her two children the best way she can without losing the essence of who she is in the process. It brings me joy to read a storyline that reads so refreshing and natural.

* You don't need to read the previous books to understand Grayson and Greer's story, but let's be honest, these stories are so candid and well written that you should definitely give the previous ones a go.

Another Carter Hit

I feel that with each release Carter just knocks it further out of the park. And while the Texas Mutiny series has reigning hold of my number ones from Carter, this My New Life section she’s pursuing is blowing me away. I love a REAL life romance. One that fits my check of boxes (see 35-39 box lol). Now while I love my YA romance just as much as the next gal, I’ve grown such a fondness for reads such as this one that relates more to me in where I am in my life now.

Greer Greer Greer. What can I say about you darling. I just see me in her. Head strong and doing what needs to be done. Being that pillar of strength to kids who need her. And Ace. Well *insert flames here* bc man is he some kind of wonderful lol I really loved how well this story was written and came together. The way it pieced together a real life grown up dating experience. Reading their relationship bloom into a whirlwind spectacular adventure. Although I doubt Greer would agree lol

I am very excited to read all about Julie next. I get so invested in these characters lol and just have a hard time letting go.

Thank you ME for giving your readers something new and interesting to read about. And for a birds eye view into just a tip of what special needs kids and their families encounter on the daily.

Not real life

In case you don't know it, I don't read romance for real life stories. Reading romance for me is about escape, loving characters that you know don't exist. M.E. Carter did it again with Grayson. This beautiful, kind hearted man who gets his woman. It's so swoon worthy. Maybe there are people out there who have the man of their dreams, I'm just yet to find them, so for now I'll read and dream about them. Luckily there are books like this one that give me that opportunity, throw in the mix of real life, relatable feelings and insight, and well I'm simply mush and gush, sitting here with love heart eyes. #HEA4TheWin

Sometimes a romance novel is more than a romance novel. Sometimes it’s a giant hug when you need it. Sometimes it’s the confirmation you need that you are in fact doing awesome (even when it doesn’t feel like it).

I loved Greer. I mean, Ace is great, but good grief I loved Greer. She says the things you’re thinking that you think no one else thinks. This is the book that parents of special needs kids or kids who are differently-abled should read. This is the book you should read if your friend or loved one has a special needs kid and you want to know more about their struggles as a parent. Really incredible storytelling.

Amazing Ace!

This was a sweet friends to lovers story. Ace was amazing! He was thoughtful, kind, patient, and family oriented. I liked Greer through the first 2/3 of the book, but the last part I was frustrated with her because I felt with her internal dialogue, she kind of took Ace for granted. Although, all was well at the end. I am intrigued with Julie’s story coming up!

Loved this book. I’m usually very picky about couples in their 40s but I completely adored this book. I can understand their struggles and what they went through. Grayson is a such special man; the way he treated Greer and her children is such beautiful sight to see. He is amazing, understanding, loving and caring. Loved the storyline and dialogue.

Once more... a decent read... but, they are starting to feel a little repetitive... for example, all the women use the phrase 'closed up shop'. Whilst this is relatively common... it isn't that common that several women would use it. Just a little frustrating cos it makes it feel like a copy, edit and paste job. Still... a nice enough read with a very sweet epilogue.

Wonderful

This look at a single Mom with a special needs child was lovely. Realistic enough to teach everyone something, but still joyful and hopeful. Highly recommended.

A sexy, sweet soul of an alpha male, mixed with a sassy, driven mother of two, Amazing Grayson was a mixture of it's characters, but unfortunately didn't quite hit the spot for my Rom-Com loving heart.

I love Rom-Coms. I've been reading them since I was a young girl and have always been driven towards the lighthearted, humorous storylines that they usually entail. I'm sad to say that Amazing Grayson fell short of my expectations. While it was sweet, and funny in some areas, the majority of the story was focused on issues that I had a very hard time connecting with. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll refrain from any sort of spoiler, but part of me wonders if I could have possibly just been too young for this novel. Don't get me wrong, I have 2 kids and have been married for 6 years, but I knew the moment I felt myself connecting more with the main heroines teenage daughter than the actual heroine of the story, that this book just wasn't going to be for me.

So while I didn't care much for the story, and actually didn't care much for the main heroine Greer, I absolutely the main hero from the story. Ace was so sincere, loving and just absolutely precious. He might actually be my favorite male character that ME Carter has written since Rowen from Groupie.

And yes, the storyline was a little too serious for my romantic comedy loving heart, but the book wasn't all bad. It hit on some issues that others could have possibly connected with on a much deeper level than I did. And in my opinion, the end was written much better and fast paced than the first half of the story, and I really did enjoy reading the last few chapters.

So if you like a good mixture of humor and seriousness, and feel as if you could connect well with a single, middle aged mother, then this book could very well be for you! And I just have to say, that after finishing the book, I'm STOKED for the next book in this series. I can't wait to see what the author does with my favorite character from this book!

I really enjoy this series by ME Carter but I have to admit the Pride and Joie books are just a bit more enjoyable than this one. They were a bit more light-hearted and I connected better with those characters than the ones in Amazing Grayson. Now, don't get me wrong this one is still good it just was a bit conflicting at times with the RomCom I am used to with this series.

Greer is fairly relatable as a single mom and I understood for the most part how she got so wrapped up in certain issues but there were also times I wanted to shake her and tell her to open her damn eyes. There were obvious signs that her daughter needed her but always seemed to get shoved to the back burner no matter the issues (fairly big ones in my opionion) that arose with her until they blew up in Greer's face. Maybe that's what she needed though because it was only then that I truly ended up liking her. Rooting for her even. But on the other hand I cannot quite possibly understand what she was going through with her son so maybe that's why I had such a hard time connecting with her at times.

Ace is pretty much perfect. I love reading about just all around nice, good guys. It's always refreshing to read these kind of guys in a world of alpha's. I think he brought out the best of Greer and even her kids and that helped me love this story a bit more. And let's not even mention the fact of why he runs his ranch the way he does. I mean, who needs ovaries after that explosion?

All in all another good, solid story by ME Carter. You can tell she poured her heart into this one and I look forward to the next one!

M.E. Carter’s My New Life series are some of the most true to life books you can find. There’s no sensationalism, no over the top Hero or Heroine, no outlandish plot twists, just good ole’ everyday issues that many people deal with on a regular basis, that she brings to life in her own unique way. Amazing Grayson is no exception. And by paring away all the filler and getting down to brass tacks, she’s written another endearing, totally relatable couple in Greer & ‘Ace’.
What do you get when you throw a frazzled, divorced mother of two teens (one with special needs) in with a sweet, sexy cowboy who’s let a personal life pass him by? Sparks, people! Beautiful, beautiful sparks! And other surprises best not mentioned here! This book was not only precious, and real (as always) and just… so good, but it was funny too! Do yourself a favor and read this one. …but don’t get too attached, cuz Ace is mine!

I really enjoy Carter's #MyNewLife series. This book took me a little while longer to get into but I love Carter's humor in her books. I really enjoyed the hero in this book. I liked that he was different. He was kind and thoughtful and sincere.. His character was a nice break from the typical alpha male concept. I would have liked to have seen more interaction with Greer's daughter, Julie, with Greer and Ace, but I really liked how great Ace is with Greer's son, Oli. I really like how Carter can bring up some hard hitting issues, like parenting a special needs child, and still keep you laughing and maintain the love story. I loved Ace. He's got a heart of gold.
While this isn't my favorite book of the series, overall, I enjoyed the story.

One of my favorites!

I’m a huge ME Carter fan, and I have to say that this might be one of my favorite books of hers!
I nannied kids with special needs for most of my life and seeing what Greer goes through on the daily hit very close to home.
Greer is one strong momma! She takes care of her kids & loves them with all her heart; especially with all the exhaustion, stress, & fears that comes with being the parent of a special needs kid.
I love that Grayson gets it. He knows what Greer is going through and it makes it so much more enjoyable watching them fall for each other.
The whole book is just awesome!

This book was really hard for me to get into, I guess it was because I was expecting a rom com, but to me it didn't feel like a rom com, this felt like a heavy book, it had real life issues and while the heroine tried to find humor in the situations, it was hard for me to feel connected to her and the hero in the sense of their relationship, I did love the relationship he had with her kid, but I felt sorry for her daughter too because there were parts that were simply brushed off in my opinion, overall a good story, I guess it was just me that had an issue with it...

I love everything ME Carter has written and Amazing Grayson is no exception.

Greer is a tough woman who has had all kinds of curveballs thrown her way. Ace is a farmer with a heart of absolute gold. Together, the two fall in love in an absolutely spectacular and completely believable way.

Carter is the master at writing stories about real problems and life experiences. Amazing Grayson is, all at once, heartwarming, hilarious, and uplifting.

M.E. Carter has a way with words no matter if you like the story or not. She writes with her heart and pores all of her love, frustration and energy in her words. And that's what I love about her!
The story is romantic and hopeful and it actually was very instructive to me. Soometimes we just need to be put back in our place. It has also quite a bit of humour and I loved to see how these two characters got to grow together with having issues in their lives.

This book is not your typical ROMCOM, it's hard to read and beautiful all at the same time. I adore Greer and her family! This book warmed my heart, but still made me smile. It fits right in with the rest of this series!
