This is my preferred potty training book. My son likes the fact there's a dog, and the whole superhero theme makes the process seem worth taking to a toddler. The cool looking big boy pants are also a nice incentive.
The book is simple, but I think wordy books aren't particularly helpful for this process - especially for my son.
My son is only 10 months old, so he doesn’t really know what potty training is yet, but this is a great book to get him familiar with the idea of using his own potty. It shows that the boy wanted to go and play instead of using his potty, so he had an accident, but he decided that he would use his potty next time and was successful because he waited until he finished.
I'll be honest and say that a potty training book has to be pretty darn exceptional to knock my socks off. This particular narrative is mid, and the speed at which the main character goes from potty failure to potty superhero is not realistic.
This book is short and sweet but tells of some of the ups and downs of potty training. I think it is simple and boys would love it. It definitely makes me chuckle.
You've started showing interest in the potty at only 20 months so Grandma quickly bought you three books and Mom and Dad got you a potty! Your favorite part about this book is the "doggo!"
Even superheroes have accidents when they don't stop what they're doing from time to time to pee & poo. Like the other books for kids & parents to read together while potty-training that I have seen, this one keeps it short & sweet. It depicts delivering one's waste to the appropriate receptacle not as a chore, but as an act worthy of a hero, and it is just long enough to focus my son's attention on the business at hand. I bought a second copy for a friend whose son is beginning the training process, and I would recommend it to others.
