Aurelia Chronicles #1

Queen of the Fireflies

Rate this book
I have only ever wanted a normal life. A life where I could have friends, go on dates, have a career, you know, the boring stuff. But, what if my life was never meant to be normal? What if I was meant to be extraordinary?
My fate was put on hold the day I was born, but all of that changed when I met Brogan. He made me feel things I didn't know possible, and awoke something I didn't know existed. He set my fate back into motion. My name is Alya, and this was when my life really began.

This book contains sexual situations and some strong language, so 18+ is recommended.
It is the first book in the Aurelia Chronicles series.

I loved this book it has alot of detail about the characters in it and it's gets you excited for the next one which I now can't wait for it to come out....there's not much more then the building of the relationship between the FMC and her man but that's ok cause that's what first books are meant for.....it ended on one hell of a cliffhanger that will leave you in a tortured happy state lol I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and Fantasy 😊

Cant wait for the next book

Really was so gutted it ended!!! Please can I have book 2 NOW. Really enjoyed this book as you have probably guessed. The characters were all relatable even the secondary characters like Joe and Tessa, they all came together to make an amazing story of friendship and love.

I wanted to like this because I like fairies and all sorts of paranormal creatures. This story however, just had such a slow start and when something finally did happen, it wasn't all that exciting. I felt the whole story was rather boring. This one is NOT the book for me.

This was a great first book and the beginning of a series! I liked the characters the story flowed easily and it was well written. I look forward to finding out what happens for Alya and Brogan, after their whirl wind summer romance and the outcome of it forcing Alya and her mother to move back to Aurelia. I also love the particular types of magic in this story and how original the whole thing is. I’m very glad I read this story and I feel Rinna Ford has a bright future writing, this story was creative, original, well written, easy to read and enjoyable. It had all the elements of a great read, heart break, a great best friend/sidekick, sarcasm, humor, a sexy man, some steamy moments, love, a bit of mystery and drama and a sprinkle of the paranormal, can’t wait for book two!

This was a wonderful start to the new series Aurelia Chronicles. Alya is a normal 20 year old collage girl enjoying life to the fullest. She heads back to her Mum's for the Summer where she has a whirlwind summer romance. The story has a bit of everything, action, family drama, steamy sex, best friends, twists and turns, heart break and magic. It certainly gets me wanting to read book 2.

The book ended on a cliff hanger, which I don't like much, especially as I can't jump straight into book 2. But I'm really looking forward to the next book, where we will hopefully learn more about Aurelia and it's people.

You would think a typical romance, playful banter, actual dates, stupid boys, heart break, summer romance, best friends, and a over protective mother. All is not what it seems in this magical world. Give this book a read and ride the rollercoaster which is Alya's life, so many surprising twists and turns you won't be able to put the book down! This book will have you laughing, crying, and yelling at the book, but maybe just maybe it will instill hope in all hearts, as it did mine. Excited for book 2!!!

This is a one sitting book, I just didn't want to put it down. A good book is like a good pizza recipe with the right ingredients it comes out delicious. 😉 The book holds nothing back it jumps right into the story no waiting for it to get juicy. It's has just the right amount of sarcasm, romance, family drama, hiliarous best friend, secrets, and steam. You can't go wrong with this one I LOVED IT. Alya has some great spunk to her excited to see what happens next. Oh and that epilogue, I need more of that. Not so patiently waiting for the next book. 😂

Rinna Ford captures you from the start and won't let you go - even at the end of the book you are compelled to buy the next one. The range of emotions that runs through Alya's life are breathtaking and she takes you along for the ride. Brogan is just what she needs for a summer romance - and the heat just keeps on coming. You will read long into the night with anticipation of the next page. Rinna is in a class by herself. Awesome first book, awesome read!

A compelling story that will keep you hooked from start to finish. I literally could not put this book down once I started. Ford brought a unique twist introducing magic in a normal world following Alya’s journey to find herself and who she really is. Prepare for nonstop mystery in this clever and exciting read.

Rinna Ford’s Queen of the Fireflies (Aurelia Chronicles Book 1) provides a wonderful summer romance between its leads Alya and Brogan - with real magic. It’s a great story with a superbly crafted set of characters and a strong plot with some pretty powerful reveals at the end about Alya and her mom. Great stuff and lots left unanswered, even though the major plot-line is handled (so not really a cliffhanger). Totally enjoyable. Frankly, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed, I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

This book was an unexpectedly good read from a brand new author. There are a lot of potential directions to go with the story which makes the sequels worth looking forward too. I’m excited to see what comes next and where our MC ends up.

The first book of the Aurelia Chronicles left me wanting to read more. The book introduces you to Alya, her mom, and her best friend who are all great characters. Alya decides to come home for summer from College to help her mom in her flower shop. Alya has a summer fling, and falls for the guy who's visiting town even though she knows he'll be leaving town in a couple weeks. Some strange things start happening and she doesn't really realize it until later when she starts putting things together but I won't get into it too much because I don't want to spoil anything. I wish that it didn't end in a cliffhanger because it was just really starting to get interesting to where I was getting into it and it ends. The book is slow in some areas, its like its interducing you to the characters and letting you get to know them and understand them. The book has friendship, romance, and heartbreak. I can't wait until book 2 because that seems when the real magic begins.

I started this book as I was getting ready for bed. I need something to relax to fall asleep. This was not the book. I looked up from the pages to realize it was 3 am and I needed to be up in a few hours. Needless to say once you start to immerse yourself into the pages you are there for awhile. The story keeps you involved. I loved how The author developed the story line. I had an inkling but was not sure until the end. Now I am so excited to read book two! A wonderful storyline. I loved it!

Enjoyable read

There was sort of a cliff hanger ending, and I really wish I had more answers than questions at this point in time, but it will come in the next book, I hope. I enjoyed the storyline though, and really do want to know what happens to Alya's story. Will she meet her father, will there be a home to return to, is there war or unrest in Aurelia? This was more of an introduce the characters and get to know their personalities book compared to a lot of action/angst etc which is good because some books are lacking on character development.

Help! I Need More

I ship Alya and Brogan so hard. Ughh. My heart. I need book two now. Help me Tom Cruise, I need more! Ford has started an epic romance laced with hints at an extraordinary world. This book lays the foundation for an amazing fairy tale that is riveting, complex, and leaves you dying to find out more.

Queen of the Fireflies is the first book in the Aurelia Chronicles, and if you're expecting a new world straight away, then prepare to be disappointed. 99% of this book take place on good old Earth! Alya has just split up from her boyfriend and decides to spend the summer with her mother. Whilst she's there, she meets Brogan and they have a hot, summer fling. They both know it has an expiry date on it, but neither are prepared to stop seeing the other before they absolutely have to.

This is NOT at young adult fantasy as there are some very steamy bits in it. They are an essential part of the story though and I loved every scene. It is heartbreaking, joyful, hopeful, and sad - the perfect blend of summer romance for a young couple.

It does end on a cliffhanger though, so fair warning! I can't wait to continue with this series, and have no hesitation in recommending it.

What a fantastic first book!

Queen of the Fireflies brings us magic, love, heartbreak and fantastic characters. The premise is quite easy to follow, we have a 20 yr old girl going home for summer break following a breakup and then having a whirlwind summer romance with "the one". Although it is a fairly standard plot this book is very far from standard!

The characters are fantastic and full of life. They all work well together and the banter and love that they all share with each other is perfect. Each character has an opposite paired to them that compliments both personalities and makes it so much fun to read.

The descriptions of each character and places they go are so well thought out and explained that you feel like you are along for the ride. I couldn't put this book down and I can not wait to read the next one! It is a fantastic read and anyone that loves anything to do with magic and the Fae should read this book!

Holy books!!!

First I was waiting for my fae to reveal, ((thinking not another silly romance)) and was almost surprised when things started spiraling in plant magic... The magic could have been integrated earlier in the story. But it's way good enough to draw you in from the start.
This first book leaves a lot of little loose ends, and a pretty big cliffhanger, with him feeling That!! ... Darn you evilauthors 😆💔 I need the next sequel I'mmediately!

This books was absolutely amazing. The world created and character development was incredible. Alta is a strong woman who just started college and goes to work in her moms flower shop in the summer where she meets a mysterious guy named Brogan. Little does she know her life will be for ever changed because of him.

Excited to get my hands on B2

Alta is a girl growing into herself the Summer she turns 21. She leaves her college town, homeward bound, to get away from a man who didn't love her. Little did she know, what she had was nothing compared to what she will be experiencing with Brogan. It's a lovely story with heart ache, but luckily, there is a book 2.

The storyline of the book is excellent, and I enjoyed the take on the Fae/magical realm. Love Aurelia’s connection to nature and how it plays out. The writing itself was a little choppy in parts, but I imagine that will improve in subsequent books. It didn’t detract from the overall premise of the book or the enjoyment of it.
