Emerald is still alive or alive again and finally has a true home. She's no longer with the pack, shunned and abused. She has two parents who love her, accept her, and want to make up for the years they were separated. She's back with her best witchie friend, Britt. She has three soul ties, Talon, Dev, and Nik that she's falling for more each day. Sure there are challenges; grandparents who seem to despise her, forgetting to eat and trying not to kill Talon but Em and her beast have never been happier. Except, each time she leaves the coven, she gets attacked. Is this an unfortunate coincidence or is someone trying to kill her? Again.
Silver Blood picks up where book one left off. It is more. More Em, more Em and Britt, more Em and her soul-ties, more Em and her family, more Em and a possible mate. More action, more suspense, more sexual tension, and more danger. More enemies, more allies. More heartbreak, more love. More twists and turns. More story. Just more. It's so good! It's definitely a 'read late into the night' kind of book. I devoured it. It is absorbing, entertaining, surprising.
Then there's the ending. Now anyone who reads Tamara White's books knows she loves a good cliffhanger. To be honest, so do I. I love that moment that leaves you speechless (possibly screaming) and stunned. Cliffhanger doesn't begin to describe the ending of this book. It's not nearly strong enough. A new word needs to be invented. Verona Rupes is a huge cliff located on Uranus's moon. It's the tallest cliff in the solar system and if you jumped off it, you'd fall for twelve minutes...I'm thinking this is a veronalhanger. It left me shattered. If you do not like to be left hanging by a thread in the WORST possible way, wait until the next book is released before reading this one. Although I am afraid it will only get worse in book 3. Tamara has a cruel streak. Part of her appeal! Wow, I need more!
