“As scientists put it, the brain is plastic, or moldable. Yes, the actual physical architecture of the brain changes based on what happens to us.” – Daniel J. Siegel

Discover the true meaning of the word “discipline” and that’s not about shouting or punishing but instructing. No-Drama Discipline is like a children’s negotiation book where you’ll learn how to talk to your child and turn negative situations into win-win discussions.

Identify your own discipline philosophy while mastering the best ways to communicate with your child and instruct him.

P.S. No-Drama Discipline is an extremely helpful book that will finally teach you how to deal with your child’s tantrums and tears.

This was a one hour summary audiobook of the real No Drama Discipline book. So this was a bit of a cheater way to “read” a book that has been haunting my bedside table for months. It was helpful, I was able to quickly glean strategies I can use now in my parenting. I will also mention that either the written text had some poorly formed sentences throughout, or the narrator had a less polished audio recording made. Overall, this was helpful and got the job done in a quick way when my brain doesn’t have the capacity to absorb the full and real book. Strategies I want to remember when in the heat of a kid tantrum:
-Compassion
-Teach
-Connect
-Acknowledge Feelings
-Listen
-Kid Brains Not Fully Developed Yet
-Embrace the Positive
-Redirect & Repair

This was just a summary of the entire book. I'm not sure how the two versions compare. I wish I had read the book 25 years ago to better understand how my reaction to my children's behavior could have been metered to be less gut wrenching.
