Found in a damp, cold alley at the age of seven, Lila’s life was transformed when she was found by Clay Richards and his three adopted sons.
Years later Lila leaves the home she loves, heartbroken, knowing her love for Gavin, Trace and Colin will never be reciprocated. How could it be? They looked at her like she was a little sister, not a woman.
Gavin, Trace and Colin had long ago decided that there was only one woman for them, Lila.
They just have to convince her of that.
When they get the devastating news that Clay is dying, the four of them are pulled back together and discover that their feelings for each other have only grown over the years.
And that no one, not a greedy mother, or a crazy stalker will come between them.
Welcome to Haven, where the men are handsome, sexy and overprotective, and where their women are the center of their world.
This story includes the spanking and elements of domestic discipline. If this offends you, please don’t purchase this story.
Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.
I've noticed a distinct pattern with the books from this publishing company and I don't like. The women in the books are basically treated like children until it's time for the bedroom acrobatics. I don't care for weak female leads. It's one thing for them to start that then show growth, and another when they continue to let the males control every aspect of their lives, treating them as less than.
In my country this would be called domestic rape - or rather just rape. She says no, but they still punish her. If she says she doesn’t want a butt plug and they force her because she’s been doing something they don’t approve of - that is rape. Doesn’t matter if she gets an orgasm or if you call is domestic discipline. It’s not DD if not everyone in the relationship is in on it - if not, it’s abuse and rape. And she never said she was ok with spanking or DD. This book is over the line sooo many times. They say they love her but they get to decide what is safe for her to do or not to do - she's an abused girl that don't understand relationships or love, would anyone in that state of mind say no to three guys saying they will love her if only they let them spank her? This is not DD - it's abuse.
Then add to the facts that this girl was saved from an abusive parent (who was whoring herself out and laughing when men hurt and touched her 6 year old). The “safe” brothers wants to show their love by controlling every aspect of he MCs life and thinks this is an ok way to do it... no. Just NO!
In need of a simple, quick story,i ended up finally reading this one. I’ve had it in my library for ages, and now was a good time to read it. A story that has the necessary ingredients: a little girl in need of rescue, and a grown man, with 3 adopted sons, who does the saving. They like the little girl, and she likes them. But misunderstandings, and a low self-esteem drive them apart. Until the man is terminally ill and they come to bring her home. A few typos, but otherwise an enjoyable quicky.
Re-Read: 12/12/21 4.3 stars. I enjoyed this book even more this second time around. I am completely in love with this author’s writing.
This book moved at a little bit of a faster pace than some of her others, but it was mostly because these characters all already knew and loved each other. They just had to build onto their existing relationship.
This was emotional and sweet. And sexy, thought I am disappointed that we never got a full on group scene.
Still. I had a really good time reading this book and I’m glad I get to reread it and the rest of this series before the newest book comes out.
Sweet DD book. M/F/M/M Light sex (sadly) I liked all of the MC. Writing was engaging. I just wish LR developed the plot more b/c I loved the story. More steam was needed.
I've read all of the authors stories and this was one has been my favorite.
Lila is a very special lady. She is very loving and caring. She's strong and faces every thing bravely. Her men make her strong. Their love journey is Amazing to read. This story teaches you to love and accept yourself. Author Laylah Roberts is a writes addictive steamy romances.
Lila’s Loves is a short read and if a quick fantasy-escapism is what you’re looking for, this story will probably satisfy that craving. But this book has made me realize why I’ve built up such an aversion to its style of female-centric-ONLY stories.
For me, reading a story like Lila’s Loves is akin to sitting down to lunch and having a spoonful of sugar. It’s excessively sweet when sweet AND savory taste so much better. It’s empty calories that tell your brain you’ve eaten, but does nothing to satiate the appetite.
Happy to lie back, be pampered and pleasured into exhaustion and have every need met, it’s all about Lila in this story.
I get this fantasy. Truly. The mom who works all day then goes home to her family to cook and clean until finally, finally dropping into bed exhausted, yearns to be pampered and the focus for once. Just once in a while, she’d love for it to be about her.
Personally, I want my fiction to be a world I can sink into. For me, that means the story/ characters/ world building, must be plausible within their context and hold the required intimacy for a lasting relationship. To feel there’s truly a HEA, a balance must be met where the needs of all characters are fulfilled. The natural ebb and flow of give and take between people which ultimately must find balance for it to last. The balance which exists no matter the level of kink.
If everyone were sharing and the men were as intimately involved with each other as with Lila, my take on this would be quite different. Instead, Lila’s Loves is female fantasy I read with distant ambivalence.
I can’t believe this book is only 198 pages long, as it felt a lot longer. I did enjoy it but it dragged in places, and didn’t make sense in others. The author starts a few plots that could have been really good but they never go anywhere, and it’s frustrating.
When Lila is seven Clay who is the foster dad of Gavin, Colin and Trace finds her sat outside in a storm. When it becomes clear her mother doesn’t want her he takes her home with him and she becomes part of their family. Yet she doesn’t feel like she belongs with them but never talks to any of them about it, they don’t talk to her about it either. It hints that she may have been sexually abused by one of her prostitute mother’s men, yet she never has counselling or needs it? It never actually says she was abused just that the men ‘touched her.’
It fasts forward to Lila being 23 and the men go to bring her home as Clay is dying. This is where I struggled with this book. She was brought up with the men as their sister, but when she gets older she has feelings for them and they have feelings for her. It felt a bit icky as they looked after her like a sister but then want her as a woman. I did struggle with moving on from them being her brothers to her lovers.
Once they all are in a relationship it’s rather boring and drags as they don’t date her, they have sex and watch movies, and it feels at times like she’s their sister. Which creeped me out. After having sex the first time that’s the only sex scene which didn’t help make me feel they’re madly in love.
I didn’t really identify with any of them either. I don’t know their ages, one of them is 29, Gavin is the oldest but no idea how old. The author seems to skim over a lot of things so I never felt a connection to them sadly.
Not the best I’ve read from this author but I still enjoyed it.
After a few traumatic early years with her abusive mother, Lila ends up being adopted by Clay Richards, who treats her like a loving father, even if she never felt she fit in with his three adopted sons. When Clay dies, Lila comes home to his ranch in Haven, Texas, where multi-partner relationships and domestic discipline are common, and discovers that her adopted brother share her less than sisterly/brotherly feelings.
I really like the relationship between Lila and her adopted father, though it is weird that she's now dating/living with/marrying her brothers. If they were all legally adopted, is that even legal? Worse is how there's no negotiation about the BDSM aspects of their relationship. Instead, Lila is treated like a little girl who has no choice but to do what she's told. Still, the writing isn't bad and the series has potential, though this is definitely not my favorite book by this author.
I felt let down with this in the last quarter of the book it had been good and the just lost it's appeal to me as if it was rushed to finish it and not a whole lot of explanations to sara or her outcome of what happend to her just let down
I planned to enjoy this one because of the synopsis. However, the execution of the romance and story didn't vibe with me. So much of this story was focused on everyone's backstory and some over the top drama. The sex scenes that we barely got felt so mechanical. Wasn't for me.
DNF. I would have rated this book higher if the women had been treated as adults. Haven is an unusual town; one with several menage relationships. No problem with that at all. I do take issue with the women being treated as children, with the men calling to report "bad behavior on the part of the female, and her men spanking her. There was no eroticism with these spankings; they were demeaning, for "risking her safety or well-being". Forgetting a cell phone or speeding warranted punishment. The women were told to strip and put their nose in a corner until they were ready to deal with them on more than one occasion. The women are "precious" but then spanked 20 or more hard hits. The wife is treated like a child, unable to make her own decisions, then after spankings, she tearfully agrees with how wrong/stupid/inconsiderate she was to have put herself in that situation. They all need this type of relationship. Offensive.
Since I didn't finish this story the first time around and it's been the cover advertisement each time I open my Kindle for weeks, I decided to try again. I finished, but my opinion of the story or the author did not improve. Again, if this had been a spanking kink, there would be no shame. It is not. It is condescending. Women can't be trusted to know their own minds or take care of themselves. They need big, strong men to make sure they get through the day safely. If they do "endanger" themselves or act up, a spanking is in order. Now, mind you, if a man does the same, and it's suggested he be spanked, his response will be a firm "No, I'm an adult man". I don't know what happened to this author to make her think this is acceptable. Children deserve more respect than women are given in this story. Since I first rated this book, I have adopted a 3-star or higher policy with respect to authors. I am not going to change my rating. Respect isn't an issue this author takes note of.
Several things annoyed me about this story. The h slept constantly, it was weird and unrealistic. The spankings are one thing but to be told to go stand in the corner naked with your butt out until they already to spank? Ummm no thanks. The build up to the sexual relationship was good and then the sex itself was extremely rushed. I don't think I've ever read a manège story (Oaks, Dwyer for example) that was so rushed or pretty much non existent
This is a Rape book wrapped up in disguise of romance, I like age play sometimes, the ones I have read are okay, This is not however, 3 against 1 for a start, doing things to a young lady when the word NO has left her lips is RAPE no matter how you wrap it up with a nice neat bow. NO MEANS NO. I have read a few BDSM books its really not my thing and some have turned into phenomenal reads, this one should come with a warning. In today's climate especially.
Wow, I literally could not stop reading this book. I even drained the battery on my phone. I was drawn in by the prologue, and more by the first chapters. It is an amazing story of finding love, learning to trust, loss, and in the end gaining more that you could ever imagine. To be fair I will give a warning that this is a book of three men and one woman that do make love a few times in the story. It that is something that is offensive to you, well you may not want to read this book. If you are offended by men being protective and enforcing that protection in a loving manner but see a spanking as brutal and abusive then this book is not for you. If you can look past that you will find a wonderful story with which I believe has a strong plot. I have to admit that the first several chapters I cried buckets. I used paper towel to dab my eyes cause they are just way more absorbent than tissue. Remember when you read this it is a romance/fiction. Let the story carry you away. See how these four people strive to build a relationship in their own way. I loved it and to be honest though I don’t think I could handle living with more than one man I wish that more men would care and love their partners like this. Everything was done with love.
Lila had a very difficult start to her life. At seven years of age she snuck out the window of the apartment she shared with her mother as she had a so call guest coming in. A guest that had mean eyes to Lila and she was afraid of him. She sat crouched down in the alley in the cold scared when a thunderstorm hit. It was her luck though she didn’t know it at the time that Clay and two of his foster son’s Collin and Travis had come into the alley to escape the down pour. Clay found her huddled there freezing and terrified. He then found her mother beaten in the apartment and had her rushed to the hospital. It was at the hospital Clay found out that her mother didn’t want the child. Clay was determined to take her back home with him to Texas and to his ranch and take care of her.
Lila never felt secure in her heart. She had tried her best to be the perfect child. Never getting into trouble; making perfect grades. She had the constant fear that if she did something wrong Clay would send her away. In truth he would never do that he loved her and adopted her as his daughter. She grew up with Gavin, Trace, and Collin. They were not his blood children either. The parents of Trace and Collin had died in an accident. Clay was their godfather and guardian if something were to happen to them. Unfortunately he was out of town and the two young boys were put into the foster system. It was in the foster home that the met Gavin. Gavin took an instant liking to the boys and protected them from the other kids. When Clay came to get Trace and Collin they told Clay they were not leaving without Gavin. After hearing what he did for the younger one Clay took him home as well and they became a family. As she grew up Lila realized that she had feelings for the three guys that were more than a sister bond. However she felt that they didn’t want her, and she had to leave so that she wouldn’t have to deal with the heartbreak of being around them all of the time. It was a huge misunderstanding, and unfortunately it took tragedy to have the guys go and fetch to woman they loved. They all had a lot of work to do to make things right, to over come things of the past. But then the past literally came back up and confronted them head on. Not once but twice. Will they be strong enough to withstand the trials that they will encounter? Will Lila be strong enough to open her heart with out fear and embrace the love she thought she would never have.
Lila’s Loves by Laylah Roberts (Haven Texas, Book 1)
Laylah Roberts' Lila’s Loves is the first book in the Haven Texas series, and while it strays from the DDlg dynamic that many of her fans, including myself, might expect, it still delivers a compelling and deeply emotional romance. This book surprised me by focusing more on the Dom/sub dynamic without the Daddy/little girl element, but it was still a captivating read.
The story follows Lila, who was rescued from a bleak life at the age of seven by Clay Richards and his three adopted sons, Gavin, Trace, and Colin. Raised in a home filled with love and protection, Lila's feelings for the three brothers evolve from familial affection to deep, romantic love. Heartbroken, Lila leaves, believing that the men see her only as a little sister and never as the woman they could love.
However, Gavin, Trace, and Colin have always loved Lila, but their own fears and misunderstandings kept them from pursuing her. When they get devastating news, they are brought back together, and the men realize they made a mistake in letting Lila go. Determined to make her theirs, they vow to never let anything come between them again, not even a greedy mother or a dangerous stalker.
What stands out in Lila’s Loves is the deep emotional connection between the characters. The protective, alpha nature of Gavin, Trace, and Colin shines through, making it clear that Lila is the center of their world. The absence of the DDlg dynamic was unexpected, but Roberts still creates a strong, compelling romance that kept me turning the pages.
Although I initially missed the Daddy/little girl aspect that I love so much, the intensity of the relationships and the tension in the storyline made up for it. The blend of romance, suspense, and heartfelt moments creates a narrative that is both gripping and touching.
In the end, Lila’s Loves is a book that offers a slightly different flavor from what I’m used to in Laylah Roberts' work, but it’s still a great read. If you enjoy protective alpha males, strong emotional connections, and a bit of suspense, then this book is worth picking up. I’m definitely looking forward to continuing the series and seeing how the characters and dynamics develop in Haven, Texas.
I loved reading Lila’s Loves(Haven, Texas Book 1). All about Lila West is seven years old & Clay Richards and his three sons. Clay and Colin & Trace found Lila huddled next to a dumpster hiding from the rain in rags in an alley. They picked her up and brought her back to their hotel. Lila’s mom was beaten & left for dead, Clay called the ambulance and they visited her in the hospital the next day. Abigail West gave Lila to Clay and never looked back. Clay took Lila & his sons back to Haven, Texas to his big ranch and raised all four children to grown adults!! He loved his best friends children Colin & Trace like they were his own. Gavin was in the foster home and looked after the twins, and he adopted him as well. Lila came along and completed there all male household, and he loved every minute of their childhoods!! Read about Lila & Gavin, Colin & Trace and see if they can make living without Clay a happy affair! It’s hard to lose the one person who loved you unconditionally, to cancer! But they have each other and they may have been brought up together, but they are not related by blood. And each one loves the other fiercely, now can they make it work long term, that is the question!!! I enjoyed reading this book, and I can not wait to read the next five books in this series!! Haven, Texas is big on ménage relationships! So if you enjoy reading about these types of loving unions, then this series is for you!!!
It was good, had many strong parts but the whole 3 alpha men, 2 blood brothers Trace and Colin, and their older BFF brother Gavin, falls for the much younger adoptive sister Lila. She was 7 when Clay the father figure saved her for her abusing mother and took her from Chicago to Texas to be a family with his 2 godsons and their best friend. For 16 years her mentality is that is she breaks the rules, acts out or rebell then Clay would kick her out, she didn’t trust him not to, she never knew or couldn’t comprehend that Clay saw her as his heart in their family unit, she was the best and his light in life. She would know his true feelings when the Will was read and his letter to his ‘children’ was read for her to know how much she was loved. Now her fear is for the brothers to kick her out when she does something they don’t like no matter how many times they reassure her that they love, care and protect her. And when her mother comes back she will see how the boys will protect her even from her own stupidity. Now the parts that were a bit of a drama but too short lived would be her mother and Sara, a women from Colin’s past, who wants what Lila has... Another point is the time frame, I see that Larken and Savannah has their books as 2 and 3 but will they coins in with this or are they in a differ prior timeframe before this book?
Very disappointed. I'm sorry, but if I'm reading a menage book I expect the sex to be frequent, hot, and descriptive. As another erotic romance novelist said, if the reader isn't wet when they are done reading the scene, then the writer hasn't done their job. It's a shame because the story and characters held my interest. Also you need a new editor. The grammar was bad. Using his where it should be her... I got tired of trying to figure out what the word was supposed to be. By the way the past tense of smell, is smelled not smelt. Smelt has to do with melting metal.

Lila’s Loves is the sixth installment in Laylah Robert’s Haven, Texas series. In it she chronicles the polyamorous romance of Lila Stacia West Richards and Gavin, Colin and Trace Rivers. They were all adopted by Clay Richards. None are blood related. Clay knew that his three sons loved Lila and wanted her as theirs; however, he made them promise to give her space to find herself. After several years the foursome is reunited with Clay dying of pancreatic cancer. However, demons from both Lila and Trace’s pasts haunt them. Can the foursome disperse those demons? Will her three men keep her safe? Can they find happiness? To find out, you must read this book.
I enjoyed Ms. Roberts’ romantic suspense story. Her characters, both primary and secondary, are complex with multiple layers. I liked the chemistry between Lila, Gavin, Colin and Trace. Their conversational and internal dialog was well-written. I appreciate Ms. Roberts’ continued use of a two-prong plot. One prong being the age-play romance and the other the suspense of the actions of Abigal West and Sara. Ms. Roberts used dialog and descriptive language to move her plot along and to paint vivid pictures. This captivating polyamorous romantic suspense story was a great find. Outstand job, Ms. Roberts.
At first I didn't understand what was happening with this book. But pretty soon you find out that Clay who is really the hero of the story has adopted his god sons and their protector and friend from the foster home Gavin. So their is Colin and Trace brothers whose parents have died in a car accident adopted by their Godfather along with their brother as far as they were concerned because of their time at the foster home in New York by chance stuck in the rain in an alleyway and hear a noise thinking that it is an animal they look and find out that it is a little seven year old girl you know what happens Clay finds her mother and see the squalor she has been living in and the mother beaten and abused. He takes her home with him and she becomes his daughter, oh by the way her name is Lila, if you haven't guess, he always wanted and the story evolves around these adopted children and their lives their in Haven Texas. It ended up being a pretty decent story. I loved the evolution of their relationships with each other after their father Clay dies of cancer. You want a good short read, read this story. Make me want to buy and read some more stores by Laylah Roberts.
Edge of Your Seat, Heart Pounding And Oh So Sexy Romance , A Must-Read
I would gladly give more than five stars if I could. Author Roberts Rocked my world with Lisa's Loves! Sexy, Smart, Hot as Hell Alpha Males. The strong, beautiful lady lucky enough to have them. Edge Of your seat, MMFM, Tragedy, Romance.
This is one of the best Multiple Partner romance Stories, I have ever read! I was on the edge of my seat from the start. Enraptured thru and thru! I could not put it down. I fell in love with Gavin, Trace and Colin and how the treated their Lila. My heart pounded, my temperature boiled and I felt as though I was there feeling every bit of sadness, happiness and oh the pleasure!!! I didn't want it to end. Lots of yummy feels.
This was my first by this author, but definitely not my last. A must read that I absolutely recommend. A new to me Author that has a Marvelous Talent of Capturing you utterly and completely! A new favorite for sure! I cannot wait to read more of her work!
I honestly was a little sceptic to buy this book based on some of the comments, but I'm glad I did. First of this book contains Domestic Diseplin (DD). It's not about abuse, not about making women feel like less of a person, minimising women, just the total opposite. This book is about 3 brothers falling in love with a strong yet vulnerable woman. It's about finding love, trust and happiness. It takes place in a fictional town of Haven, Texas where the men protects the ladies, and thats where the DD comes in. The ladies get their bottoms spanked when they put them selfes in danger or don't follow the rules.
Now, if you don't like DD, chances are you are not going to like this book. And thats okey, don't buy it:) But I like it, and I really liked this book, so two thumbs up from me😄
providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via BookFunnel.
The female lead in this book was an annoying immature brat. she went from saying I want sex to no I don't want sex then Ok it is a good idea to wait for sex. She was denying she was sick when she clearly was and after fainting she wanted to go swimming. Why were any of the guys interested in her she needed to grow up well I guess that is what they were looking for as they were all dying to spank her.
What is with all these books and spanking and why do the women all willing endure it?
I'm all for a ménage story but where are the ones with a strong female lead who are there because they want to instead it is usually a little girl who needs to be constantly rescued usually from their own bad choices and looked after told what to do and spanked for being naughty.
Wow! This is my first read of this series and I truly loved it! Lila melted my heart. When she is found as a young girl and brought into a loving family, that’s when my heart melted. But while she loved her new family, later on she fell in love with Gavin, Trace and Colin, but felt they would always look and treat her like like a little “sister” so she decided to start a new life. When tragedy happens, Lila is brought back to face them. Little did she know how her life would take a dramatic turn. I loved the trio and how they showed Luka how worthy she was of love. I really enjoyed the journey these four took me on. Now I can’t wait to read more about the Haven community!
Great book! This is my first time reading a book from Laylah Roberts. This is the book first to a new series Haven, Texas. This book is about Lila, Gavin, Colin, and Trace. Lila is a sweet, tiny, tough, woman that loves unconditionally, but is insecure and leery of trusting people. She is found by a kindly giant named Clay and 2 of his 3 adopted sons. This story teaches you how to love and accept yourself. This book, the characters and storyline were phenomenal. Once I started I couldn't put the book down till I was done. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves reading about MFMM stories. I will be definitely reading more from this author. Keep up the awesome work!
Iv seen lots of negative reviews about this book and i could not understand so i decided to read the book which only confirmed my love of the authors talent even more.
Lila was rescued at the age of 7 by Clay a loving rancher who already had 3 adopted sons. Instantly Lila feels safe with Clay so thats were she ends up after her mother abandons her.
Years later she is living on her own trying to do her best when home calls she needs to get back because Clay is dying.
This is a beautifully written book with lots of emotions trials tribulations some drama and a whole load of heat.
