In the Florida Keys, you have to take the shady with the sunny. And Tarpon Cove has more than fifty shades of shady going on. Shady No. 1: When Brad is framed using the dead body of his crazy ex-girlfriend, the Westin family—which now includes Fab, Didier, and Creole by default—gathers to plan a strategy. Shady No. 2: Fab is having a hard time keeping her promise to go legit. It’s not her fault she tends to attract clients who want their problems solved without getting the cops involved. Trying to keep her reined in is a full-time job, and a thankless one, since Madison keeps getting roped in on “easy” jobs that wind up getting the kind of messy that requires specialized cleanup. Shady No. 3: Ferreting out the info needed to save Brad means using sources so deep in the friend-of-a-friend network they’re anonymous even to Madison. The only thing not shady is Creole’s love. Madison’s kept her promise never to lie to him. Mostly. But when the killer wafts like smoke through the cracks in the investigation, the danger reminds her she should’ve eaten dessert first more often. Because once he’s through with her, the mess that’ll need cleaning up will be her.
Deborah Brown is the author of the Paradise series, Crazy, Deception and Trouble Florida Keys mysteries, which makes the reader laugh, cry and cheer...
My personal ad would read:
There's nothing a new pair of shoes can't cure.
Redhead. Long legs. There's nothing like a strawberry-lemonade in summer. Favorite activity: Filling my pockets with seashells. An avid rule follower when eating Animal Cookies: Broken ones get eaten first, match up the rest, duplicates next, line them up favorite to not, least favorite go first. South Florida is my home, with my ungrateful rescue cats, and where Mother Nature takes out her bad attitude in the form of hurricanes.
I'm not going to rehash the plot, that's up to the author in book description. Besides, this book is SO FULL of twists and potential spoilers, I wouldn't know how to navigate that minefield. And it is so jam packed with action and suspense, as well as plenty of the drama that we've all come to expect from the Westin family.
You would think that just for once, all the characters would behave. But then that wouldn't be any fun, would it? If you liked the first 14 books in this series, you'll love reading this one! Way to go, Deborah Brown!
Have I ever mentioned I've never been in the state of Florida in my life? Well, that is probably why I am always looking so forward to the next Paradise book. Its setting is some place I've never been.
Set in the Florida Keys, Madison is helping her brother Brad out of a tight spot. His car is stopped and, lo and behold, his ex-girlfriend's dead body is in the trunk. While everyone in the family thinks Brad would be within his rights to take care of his ex-girlfriend, Brad swears he was set up. To help, Madison may have to withhold information from her boyfriend, Creole, as she uses some interesting connections.
It's in Psycho in Paradise that Madison and Fab find out the true identity of one of their anonymous sources. You'll have to read the book to know how they find out this information.
Pick up a copy of Psycho in Paradise, grab a cold drink and settle in for a true getaway from, at least my, reality. I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
After more than a dozen books in a series with the same characters, you might expect things to get boring. Not in the Paradise series by Deborah Brown. We gain not one, but two new members of the Fab & Madison clan this time around--one related to each of the girls. Unfortunately, there are some dark flashbacks of characters best left forgotten by the family, as well. At least one of those bad guys is dead now. That should be a good thing, except that the body turned up in Brad's car.
There was a bombshell ending to the last book, Blownup in Paradise, so I was eager to see how that would play out in the newest book, Psycho in Paradise. You know those crazy family dinners where brawls break out and things go horribly awry? That's how that unfolds. There's still more to come in that particular part of the story line, so that's something to look forward to next time.
While summer may be ending for some climates, you can hang on to that beach vibe by escaping into Psycho in Paradise for your mental Florida vacation, even after school starts.
I loved loved loved this installment in the Paradise series.
I have read all of the books in this series and they always hook me. They have humor, suspense, mystery, thrill, action, and romance that draw you in and keep you sucked in.
This was one of my favorite reads of the series. It held all the same humor, suspense, mystery, thrill, action and romance as the previous books but had an amazing surprise; as well as a slight edge on the suspense part.
I have grown to love the characters that we have met and followed through all the series and cannot wait for more! Just when I thought the action might be slowing down and coming to an end, Deborah Brown through in a twist that gripped me!
I highly recommend the entire series (I have loved them all) but each book can be read as a stand alone. The author does an excellent job keeping catching us up on previous books so you won’t feel lost.
This is definitely one series you won’t regret reading.
I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
I've read most of the books in this series and I've fallen in love with the characters. They've become like good friends, and I'm always looking forward to their next story or adventure. Madison and Fab are best friends and although they've calmed down over the years, they're still good private investigators. They are just trying to stay away from the more dangerous cases. Somehow, though, that doesn't always work out.
Brad, Madison's brother, is caught with the body of his dead crazy ex-girlfriend in his new SUV. Although his family knows that he's innocent, it's going to be difficult to keep him out of prison unless they can figure out who killed her. The police are investigating, but Fab and Madison feel the need to get involved, which has both good and bad consequences.
Both Madison and Fab are engaged and I've been waiting for a wedding. It looks like one is finally on the horizon. And there a couple new family members! The Paradise books are fun to read but they also tend to tug at your heartstrings. What more could you want from a book when it can make you laugh and cry, sometimes on the same page?
Although this series is best read in order, all of the books stand alone. I definitely recommend them if you like independent women who are loyal and passionate about family, life and love.
Deborah Brown does a phenomenal job writing Madison and Fab - their adventures draw me in every time! I enjoy reading long-term series (like this one!) and often find myself getting bored, finding errors in details from reading earlier books in the series, etc.; however, Deborah is spot-on every time!
Madison and Fab are always finding themselves in a bit of trouble and end up wrapping their loves, friends, and family into the mystery mix. Fab is trying to stay legit but we all know that these gals are like a magnet for intrigue, mystery, and adventure. Honestly, I wish I could go on an adventure with them. I'm sure they'd open my eyes to a whole new world! Deborah does a fantastic job of keeping the characters in sync with who they were from book one, while still managing to make them grow with each new book.
When Brad's crazy ex-girlfriend is found dead, in his SUV, the girls take on the mission of proving his innocence. I always think they're too close to the case but they never disappoint in how fun they make a bad situation. Definitely a good thing because I keep on coming back!
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
In Book 15, we find ourselves elbows deep in the usual hot mess situations. Brad, Madison’s brother, has a familiar dead body in his trunk. Fab is doing her best to make sure she doesn’t go back on her promise to stay on the straight and narrow and Madison? Well Madison is just dealing with the chaos one situation at a time.
Now, like I said before, this is book 15 in the series. I would most definitely recommend reading them in order but not because you won’t understand this book as a standalone installment but because there is so much history and the characters have all really grown up and out throughout these books. I have enjoyed the journey so much more than I could have anticipated when I originally read Book 1. Now I impatiently wait for the next book to devour it like all the books in the series before.
As always, Deborah Brown has written a fun mystery that will make you laugh out loud and keep turning pages until the very end! I adore this series, and this book is another great addition!
Brad is in a seriously tough spot, and Madison is always there to help her family and friends (and to be perfectly honest, she helps complete strangers too). In the meantime, Fab is struggling to stay legit and Madison is finding it hard to keep things from Creole.
This book can definitely be read as a standalone book, but I really really recommend reading the whole series!
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
Psycho in Paradise is a fast-paced adventure that is well written. You get a little bit of everything when reading this story – action, mystery, drama and humor. She definitely knows how to captures the reader's attention from the beginning to end. This is an easy to read story that will have you escaping for a few hours of pleasure.
This book is part of a series however, you do not have to read the prior books to understand and enjoy this book. I recommend reading the rest of the books in the series to get more of the quirky characters and mysterious adventures. I recommend Psycho in Paradise to anyone that enjoys reading amusing contemporary fiction stories with a twist of mystery, humor and action.

This is the story of Brad, Madisons brother who has been framed for murder by is psycho ex-grlfriend. With the body being found in the trunk of his car, what is he to do, he is adamant that he did not do it and enlists the help of his sister Madison to help clear his name and keep him out of jail. Madison gets help from her best friend Fab and this leads us on a journey to uncover the truth, with lots of twists and suspense, as well as putting themselves in a lot of danger. This will keep you on your toes and finaly you’ll get to know the identity of GC. I would recommend reading the first set of books in this series as this is book 15, just to get an idea of all the characters especially the Westin Family including Fab, Creole, Didier and Madison. But it can be read as a standalone
The Tarpon Cove crew have done it again! These people tend to find themselves in every sort of mess imaginable (and some not so imaginable ones as well!!), but it always makes for great reading.
This entire book was full of twists and surprises, even more than most of the others. There is also plenty of action, suspense, and humor, with occasional snippets of romance. We meet a couple of new characters in this book, one related to each of the girls--there should be more to come in those storylines in the future. The book is easily read as a stand-alone novel, but if you want to get the full impact of all the interpersonal relationships, I would suggest reading the entire series. It will be well worth your time.
An amazing addition to the Florida Keys Mystery series, Psycho in Paradise will absolutely blow you away. Trying to go completely legit isn't easy, especially when you need the money or your brother's life hangs in the balance. How far would you go to prove the innocence of a loved one? When the killer starts to slip farther into Madison's life, she's forced to make some tough choices. A suspenseful read that has you guessing at every turn, with strong female leads. A great end of summer read that you don't want to miss!
Oh my goodness - this book threw in some pulls to the heart strings (two types of family additions!) and I LOVED it!! Even with the same set of characters, this series is very entertaining, each with their own twists. A fun read for the beach!
As many have said, I think this is the best book in this series to date. Madcap might be an understatement. Wild and crazy, action packed and more for sure! When I first began this series, the crazies felt like a bit much for me. Over time they must have grown on me, because now I can't wait to read what troubles they have gotten themselves into. This is definitely not the lifestyle I have encountered and am far from being used to. It is dangerous and fun and NEVER routine.
Fab and Madison are best friends, partners of a sort, closer than family. What goes on in this stand alone addition to the Paradise series is very much about family. And about friendship. And taking risks and believing in an end result.
I have not read all of the books in the series, but this was still quite enjoyable to read as a stand-alone novel. It is a fabulous mystery that will capture your undivided attention. It is always nice to read a story with strong female characters. The characters are undeniably intriguing. The Author has a fantastic writing style that will have you looking forward to reading more from this series!
When you pick up a book in the Paradise Series you just know you are in for a mad-cap ride with Madison and Fab.
Every book has some sort of family drama or some sort of shenanigans that the girls get in to so with a title of Psycho I did have to wonder what on earth could go on in this one!
Well, I didn't have to wait to long for an answer, Madison's brother Brad is being framed for the murder of his psycho ex girlfriend who is found in the trunk of his car! He swears blind he didn't do it and Madison enlists Fab to help uncover the truth, though that puts the girls in danger!
There is never a dull moment that is for sure, and you would think 15 books in that the girls would learn, but Deborah still manages to make each book unique, engaging and gives you a hook to get you to come back and read more.
We are in for a surprise with this story when we learn who the identity of the elusive GC, I have been dying to find out who it was and Deborah did not disappoint!
For all this is book 15 it is easily read as a stand alone, but once you start you will want to go back and start from the very beginning - I guarantee it!
When Madison’s brother Brad is arrested for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Patti, Madison vows to do everything she can to clear his name. But will it be enough? Now with psycho Patti dead, that’s one nuisance gone for Brad, but what Madison uncovers will change his life forever.
When I read the title, my first thought was, how can things get any more psycho than they already have? Plenty more, it seems. All the usual characters make their appearances, along with the usual drama and catastrophes that follow. It’s a wild ride in the Florida Keys so you better hold on for dear life. But, you’ll no doubt enjoy it to the end! I always do.
Heavens--now every one knows that Brad, Madison's brother, is upfront and honest. Of course he also has horrible taste in the women he dates! When one of those women is found dead in the trunk of his car---you know the entire clan is out to find out who set him up and to exonerate him!!
Plenty of other really crazy stuff going on. Some good--some bad. Fab is really trying hard to stay away from shady cases--and drawing Madison in with her--their boyfriends are ever vigilant-ha--good luck with that!
Someone is getting married--and someone else is trying to hide the fact that she is engaged---you will really have to read this book to find out--I am not spilling the beans!!
The Crazies Are Out in Force This book is part of a series that takes place in South Florida. The story revolves around two women investigators, their boyfriends, and their families. All sorts of crazy things happen in this episode and you will love the ending. I had to read it twice. I have been binge-reading the series and loving it. The backstory and interpersonal relationships are so important that I think this series should be read in order so that the reader has the full force of history to deal with the emotional depths that fuel the episodes. I would call these clean mysteries, not cozy, but very clean.
Prepare your heart to melt with a beautiful baby girl. She is so precious and will melt your heart out. This book is the sweetest ever from the series. It is fun filled of adventures from the two sisters from different mothers. These girls never stop to amazed you with their lives full of family love, chaos and danger stunts.
The Westin's and their closed friends will blow your mind away. I really enjoyed reading this book. Fab had her happily ever after and cannot wait for Madison and Creole.
Once again Deborah Brown has delivered an incredible story filled with action, romance, & humor. I love the quirky characters & the zany situations they get themselves into. Intriguing plot twists kept me guessing & turning the pages nonstop. I laughed & even shed a few tears. I can’t wait for the next installment to see where everyone goes from here, especially with the introduction of several new key players.
Brad is back. The old Brad we fell in love with in books past, not the most recent Brad since he hooked up with Phil. In this book he is st up for murder and that's not even the most shocking surprise. Madison and Fab do everything in their power to help, but it outs Maddison in the cross hairs of the killer. Numerous side stories, most random but interesting. We also finally learn the identity of the illusive GC.
Each of the "Paradise" books brings you to a new milestone in the lives of these great characters. Since I've read each in order, I can see the growth in every character but, never once, did the author fail to add the humor that I've come to expect. With every book read, yes, I've started the next, I sadly realize how near the end of this series I am. What great hours of reading Deborah Brown has given me.
Book 15 in the Florida Keys Mystery Series, is a fast paced action packed continuation of Madison and Creole 's romance. The Private Investigators get involved in another murder mystery that hits close to home, a fire, a hospital stay and a wedding. Action packed plus a good visual idea of life in the Florida Keys make this a very entertaining read. I highly recommend starting with book one and reading this series.
With this being book 15, you would expect some fullness or repetition but this author has a rare talent of making each book just as good as the previous and still leave you wanting more. The whole gang is back with the same craziness. There are things revealed, a wedding happens and there are still threads that need to be explored. Well done!
Again, a good read with engaging characters, but Madison’s meddling mother is getting on my nerves. If she meddled in my life as much as she meddles in Madison’s, I would have walked out of that relationship. Imagine your mother setting you up on a blind date when your adult child has seriously been dating a guy for quite awhile.
There have a good many moments and stories that wind in and out of the lives of the Westin's, but few challenges came as close to harming the Friends and family as those in these last two books. Things are looking better for them all, and that is a scary thought. Because when ever things seem to be too good, they usually are.
Brad has been arrested for murder, and Madison is determined to prove his innocence. Add in the crazies at the cottages, the pseudo violence at Jake's, and Madeline, and it's another wild ride in the Keys.
As usual this story does not disappoint. I love this one a lot and finding Brad's little daughter was terrific. It will be fun seeing what they do about living quarters. Hopefully we will not have to wait long.
I have enjoyed each book in the series equally. Psycho in Paradise was my favorite. I'm glad that they introduced little Mila to the Weston family and is the readers. I suggest that you read this series and you won't regret it. Very enjoyable.
