Mechanikat and Dogwood team up to rain four-legged fury upon Earth. Only one foal can foil their evil plans - Comet the super-horse! This stallion of steel won't stop until he's corralled the crazy critters and protected the planet.
My kid LOVES this book. Like wants it read 2 times a day. I was very skeptical when our librarian handed it to us because it is a chapter book and some pages don’t have pictures (my kid is 3). But he loves animals, super heros, and stories so it is a win all the way around. Glad we took a chance!
Reason for Reading: Ds read aloud to me as his reader.
It's been a little while since ds has read a book from this series and he was excited to get to another one. This book is on par with the others in the series and has an exciting story. Ds enjoys it when the pets' superhero/villain owners make a cameo appearance but even though they didn't show this time he really enjoyed the villain characters of Mechanikat and, especially, Dogwood, who belongs to Poison Ivy. Though the book is called Superpowered *Pony*, Comet is indeed a *horse* and another one of Supergirl's pets. The story is a lot of fun with giant robot cats, one of the villains secretly working against the other and the superhero using that to gain his support. This all makes for an action-packed story sure to please both boys and girls. A fun reader for those on about a Gr. 3 level.
I rolled my eyes when my kid check this out from the library. Then we read it together and I had to take it back. Not bad. I hate super hero stories, but this is a pretty decent little book for young readers.
