The first chapters had me in stitches. Promise not to Fall is cute and sexy. This book is about finding love where you least expect it. It's a quick easy read and I definitely recommend it for one of your lazy afternoons.

Jake is just a cheeky one, “I’d say I could put the fire out… but my kisses are hotter than that.” Jake often tines surprises his woman and she doesn't know what to think of it, “what’ya say we get outta this effing resort and I show you what the locals do?” He’s asking me out someplace? With him? Alone?" I liked this book, I loved Jake the man was just so sweet and he surprised me with his thoughtful adventures he took Kendall on.

I absolutely loved this book, Kendall is an OCD control freak and Jake is the laid-back bartender who is full of dreams.
Being dumped and jobless was not the plan, Kendall has everything planned always. Going on holiday with your best friend and her fiancé who is definitely not your favourite person wasn’t the plan either. Kendall went into bar with the goal of trying all the drinks on the menu and maybe even sampling the gorgeous Bartender too; Jake aka Island Boy.
Kendall and Jake had amazing chemistry and their hot and heavy encounters did not disappoint at all. Shey brought out the fun, sexy, flirty sides to each of the characters but also had them bringing their hopes and dreams to surface too.
Shey you have done an amazing job of producing this fun and addicting book, I couldn’t put it down!
I personally loved every part of this book and also the minor characters I can only hope that we get to hear their stories too!

Tropical romance
This is the a perfect book to lose yourself in and enjoy the ride. I loved OCD control freak Kendall and hot head alpha protective Jake. There was heavy romantic vibes from the start and I soaked up their flirtatious energy. The playful banter between them is hilarious and sizzling! There was plenty of laughs, love, and mixed drinks to go around. I immediately fell in love with Island Boy and his City Girl!
Even though both leading characters keep secrets and inner insecurities from each other, it was good to see them both letting go when they finally got to spend quality time together. It allowed them to break each other’s personal barriers and letting everything hang out.
I immensely enjoyed each and every page of this hot summer read! Well done again, Shey! You continue to amaze me with your writing. Keep up with your amazing work!

I really enjoy Shey Stahl and I love books set in the place that will be my favourite when I get there - Hawaii. And it's a good romance, in that it has all the elements, but something just missed the mark for me with this one.
The heroine has OCD but we saw little to no evidence of this. She came on holiday as a third wheel, with a man she despises, and we're supposed to believe someone with OCD would do this? I doubt it, but maybe I misunderstand OCD.
The man she falls for is a bit all over the place, and doesn't really go deep to change his behaviour, just excuse it.
But I do enjoy the way Shey writes and I enjoy the dialogue, sex scenes are good, that sort of thing. So I'll keep reading her books.
It's literally just occurred to me, that the third wheel thing may be setting up for the sequel of the book and that's why it feels a little disjointed?

Kendall and Jake were so much fun! I was looking for an easy fun loving book and that's exactly what I got!
Jake, the Island Boy, knows when he sees Kendall, the City Girl, his world is about to change, but he think it's just fir a night. If he's lucky maybe two. Instead he finds love with someone who is his total opposite.
Jake's relaxed personality helps calm Kendall's type A personality. She finds herself having fun for the first time without worrying and trying to control things. But when she falls for Jake and has to leave him, hearts break. Jake has his own story that will make you fall for this island bartender. He truly is a good guy.
Kendall and Jake share amazing chemistry along with such an ease between them you become invested in them. They become more like friends to read about.

I absolutely loved this book! Not only is it a sexy read that will spice up your summer, there’s a different drink recipe at the beginning of each chapter to add to the fun. Kendall and Jake aka City Girl and Island Boy are both interesting complex characters that add depth to a fun storyline. Personally, I can relate to Kendall’s control freak ways and can sympathize with her reasons for sabotaging relationships (even though this characteristic is rather frustrating). This book is about letting go of what is comfortable and safe to find true happiness and love— sometimes traveling the unexpected path reveals opportunities meant to change our lives and show us who we are really meant to be. I am honestly reviewing an advance copy of this book provided by the author.

Kendall the stressed out control freak is talked into a vacation in paradise with her best friend and best friends fiancé. Yep can you say third wheel. Ditched the first night she finds a unique little beach bar and decides to make the most of it. Now throw in a tattooed Island Boy(*sigh* Jake) the sexy bartender and Kendall's plan to work her way through the entire drink menu! lol. Sounds like a good idea right? Her OCD tendencies and lack of verbal filter mixed with Jake's dirty talkin ways is a recipe for pure entertainment!!!! Such a fun read I want more of this island paradise and its crazy people, Yes I mean Nash ;)

If you are looking for a fun, flirty, sexy summertime read.....then you definitely need to read Promise Not to Fall. A tropical setting, fantastic characters, lots of laughter and love...….you will absolutely fall in love with the City Girl and her Island Boy!! Kendall and Jake had this instant, magnetic chemistry from the moment they locked eyes in the bar, and no amount of perfectly mixed drinks (and body shots) would keep them from seeing where it would go. Definitely a vacation to remember for Kendall, and one that completely changed her life for the better. This is one of my favorites from the author and definitely one I will read again!!

I got lost in this book; it was a sweet, sassy & sexy adventure. Then Shey Stahl throws in an overprotective alpha male and you've got yourself the recipe for one hell of a summer read. The push and pull between these two was fantastic! Jake and Kendall were opposites in every way.. both hiding behind some insecurities and secrets; but when they both let go and just live; oh I loved these two so hard! Promise not to Fall is yet another amazing read by Shey Stahl; I recommend it to any and everyone! 💋

Wow! This was such an amazing read. I was instantly in love with both characters and felt everything as they did. I couldn't put this book down. City Girl had a piece of my heart from the start because I knew that there had to be more to her and Island Boy kept me guessing the whole time I was falling in love with him and his sweet affirmations. The only bad thing about this book was the fact that it ended. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!!!! Great job Shey!

Shey Stahl never fails. She has a way of capturing you, pulling you into the story, making you a part of it. Promise Not To Fall is an emotional tale of self discovery, learning to let go and trust someone other than yourself.
Kendall takes you with her on her journey, from Phoenix to the Bahamas, where she meets Jake. Island Boy meets City Girl and thus begins an adventure that changes both their lives.
Well written, as is the norm with Shey, and full of emotion and humour - I couldn’t put it down.

Another great book from Shey!!! The novel has everything, it was sweet, witty, sarcastic, sassy & sexy! It feels like you are right there in the Bahamas. I loved Kendall & Jake, they had amazing chemistry. I loved how at the beginning of every chapter there’s a different drink recipe; I will definitely be trying those drinks this summer. This book made me want all the drinks!
Love it! It’s fun and romantic, full of life and laughter. Loved the story and the characters. And no it didn’t remind me of cocktail. I think it was better. I sort of felt like I was there, well I wanted to be. I mean hello hot bartender on the beach. Ahhh to be in my 20s again. Loved the ending I was wondering if she’d ever do it! Ha she cracks me up. Such a fun book.

Something Went Very Wrong
Rather than stream of conscious writing, this approaches stutterings of vulgarity. The language, the actions, the brain cell flickers (too chaotic and amorphous to be actual 'thoughts')- all soon this as a wretched waste of time. Was this a joke? The author has written some enjoyable books, but something went off the rails here. Still, I'll try another in the future because of her overall output.

Jake and Kendall. These two just are incredible. Jake my god Jake is HAWT!!! When these two are together holy melt your panties!! I was sucked into the book right from the start and I didn’t want their story to end. One of my favorite books of 2018!!!

Shey Stahl has written another amazing love story. I feel this book is much different than some of her other book. This to me is a more serious romance and love story about discovering to let yourself fully be who you are. This book does make you want to sit at the bar and drink as you read to try all the recipes.

Another great book from Shey!!! It literally felt like I was there in the book, and now I want to go to the Bahamas on vacation. Jake is definitely going into the category of bookboyfriend, kendall was hard to warm up to but once she "got out of her own way" I loved her. I loved the ending banter between the two of them, and hoping I'll have the chance to one day see pigs swimming in crystal water in person!!
