This book is about Ben, a kid who can't wait for his wiggly tooth to come out. He is constantly moving his tooth back and forth so it can fall, but it is just taking a long time. He sees all of his other friends loosing their teeth, but he still can't and that gets him upset. Later on, what the reader and Ben are waiting for happens!
Ben is a dynamic character. He starts off as a desperate kid and towards the middle of the book the learns to be patient and that is when his wish is granted. This teaches kids that patience is key.
The story is given in first person point of view (Ben's).
The book also has rythym to it. As you are reading it, you can tell that it is much like a song you can sing. It is flowy and fun to read!
The theme is explicit, as the message is easy to catch and understood.
I enjoyed the book! I feel that students amongst first and second grade who are loosing teeth, would benefit from reading this book to learn that they need to be patient and not just because their friends are loosing theirs means that they should be too. Everyone is different.
