Brilliant set of 12 stories here! It starts with a man taking a Bend in the Road (good expression for being unfaithful to his wife). Then we meet a man being 'A Shadow Of His Former Self' (be aware of your shadow). With the third story the book really takes off. In 'Marciella' we see a puppet obsessed by the ghost of a murdered woman (absolutely loved the diary style and this was my favourite story). 'New Town' shows a fellow bum being murdered by a kind of vampire. Now Jack is followed by an eerie creature. 'The Bus to Texcatl' is absolutely creepy showing a strange character at the Day of the Dead celebration (another favourite). 'Carousel' leads you to a haunted fair. 'I thought You'd Gone Forever' shows a woman talking to her deceased husband. But is it really her husband? 'The Halloween Party' here is extremely uncanny. 'Tiny Claws' shows Yulia's revenge on a group of youths killing a lizard. 'The Sideway Dancing Woman' is on a sinister woman following Ben back to England. 'The Chrysalis' is very disturbing. What really happened to Joe. 'Bloody Christmas' shows two siblings terrified by an evil goblin named Jack Frost. Wow, what an anthology. Those stories are extremely well written and will scare you in a proper way. Highly recommended!

This kindle ebook novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account

There are twelve short horror stories in this book. Each story is different with interesting characters action, misdirection, and some violence leading to each conclusion. As with books with multiple stories some are better than others but that is always true! 🤗

I would recommend this novella and author to readers of fantasy world 🌐 tales of horror, adventures, thriller tales novels 😮🎉 2025 😆✨

Steph's stories are original, compelling and filled with vivid characters. I've always loved stories that tease the reader's imagination into life. If you enjoy horror and spooky tales of the night, then this is a great collection to read. Highly recommended.
