A well written book but lacks depth. Contains erotic scenes. Some parts are engaging to read but in some parts you can skip.

DNF AT 43%. I should have known not to even read it, because the THIRD sentence already had spelling errors. But I continued. I skimmed many parts because of the boring droning on and on about the piano and her mother can’t afford piano lessons thus the tragedy of her existence. Ugh. And there were more spelling and grammar issues as the story went on. My final straw? That she was basically raped but she was conflicted about it all because she was “so drunk” but the alcohol was leaving her system and it just kept going back and forth. Look, I get that people are in this situation sometimes. Too much alcohol and you wake up in the morning not sure if you liked it or not, what the social repercussions will be, but this just seemed so out there. During the event, it is very evident she’s not enjoying it, but she defaults to the fact that it’s her crush and he’s popular so she should just let it happen, and she doesn’t know how she got there because she’s drunk, but then will say something that leads you to believe she does in fact have her faculties about her. To be clear, she does not say stop, or protest at all. But she hates what’s going on? I was confused and just felt extremely uncomfortable about the whole thing. The only way this book could get marginally better is if she somehow tells him he was wrong and she wasn’t comfortable and stays away from the guy- permanently. I’m thinking that won’t happen since she does get mad at him but still has a crush on him. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. I just couldn’t stomach it any more. To really add insult to injury, there isn’t any warning that there are triggering/rape scenes in the book. The whole thing is a mess. I’m not usually this harsh, but everything about this just rubbed me completely the wrong way.

This is a box set of short stories that follow the same characters. The stories are well written and interesting. The characters Marla, Brandon and Jason have a ménage going on. My problem is that there is not ending. I don't know if the author plans to do a follow up but it would be nice. I would read this author again.

A box set containing three short books where you follow the same characters. It is well written but lacks depth to both story and characters. It has dark elements and lust in it. It is a menage read and has some interesting and engaging elements. I am one that hates cliffhangers and I think this one has one ending that is close to that. I hope there will be a sequel to finish this story off.
Worth the read.

Marla is a shy piano player. Marla doesn't like for anyone to hear her play. This book is about Marlas journey with her three way relationship between herself and Jason and Brandon. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So disappointed

This book had so much potential, I was so excited when I read the book description, then I got through the first two chapter's. I skimmed through this thinking it was going to get better and it didn't. Very boring and the characters were high school children having an adult relationship. Just didn't do it for me

Steamy 🔥 🔥🔥

This was a quick read, filled with sex, sex, and more sex. Sprinkled with music, growing up figuring who you are & overcoming teenage insecurities. But steamy non the less 🤷🏽‍♀️

Glad I didn’t buy this book. I skipped through a couple parts because it became boring at times.

An okay story

This was an okay new adult romance, but it still needs the help of a professional editor to take it out of amateur level writing, IMO.

I combined both the sounds of the black and white keys; creating a piacere. I liked that word. It meant that I was creating sounds at the pleasure of the performer; for nobody else except myself. - Marla Dawes

This is a complete erotic romance series featuring a menage relationship. I found it quite difficult to review after almost abandoning the series mid-way through the first book. The series has serious moral grey areas and seriously needs a trigger warning for those in sexually abusive relationships and rape survivors. Brandon is an ass, I can't think of a suitable punishment for his behaviour. His later actions in the series don't make up for his actions. Marla's blindness to his actions frustrated me.

It wasn't all bad. Marla had brilliant elements of realism. I saw myself in Marla for one reason the uber distracting crush. I remember more than one getting me into trouble academically. And my most memorable was a transfer too. Jason is adorable, his shyness, development and confidence, he was quite appealing. He is so different to Brandon, some of the descriptive passages about them made me wonder what was going on, what someone less confident in themselves would take away (yes its fiction, I know). There is moral to the story always trust the bestie, Michelle's a good character, I feel like someone ignored their bestie in the past and this is their apology. Even her major misstep is real. I actually thought it was very well written, there were some brilliant sections of writing that felt like it could have been pulled out of a young woman's head. I really like the term piacere which I'd never heard.

Overall mostly good characters, well written but seriously flawed in the plot department. If you can overcome that you will like it.
