Grant Wolves #2

Shallow Grave

Dead man walking.

When Chris woke up in his coffin, he had one thing on his mind: getting out. But getting out is just the beginning. How do you get back to living when the world thinks you’re dead?

Joey thought Chris was gone forever. Now he’s back, and all the rules have changed. When their joyful reunion turns sour, she tells herself that time and space is all they need—no matter how much it hurts.

A fresh start in a new city may be just what the Alpha ordered, but it won’t come easy. From the moment their pack meets the Seattle pack, they know something is wrong. And when an uninvited guest crashes their “welcome to the neighborhood” party, Joey and Chris are caught in the crossfire.

As the body count rises, can Chris and Joey set aside their differences and stop the killer before they, too, fall prey?

Exciting Read

This is a fun, fast paced story that's filled with action and drama and plenty of unexpected turns. Can't wait for the next one!

Okay Chris is now awake as he really wasn't dead just an astral projection that we aren't sure exactly why this happened although Cathy the former High Priestess as she believes that it was his wolf heritage that allowed this phenomena. The family is shocked but very happy. Joey and Chris come together then Joey shies away because she is scared. Adelaide the Alpha has decided it is time to move to a new territory as they have been there thirty years and the humans will begin to notice they don't age. They move to Seattle Chris's former pack area before he lost his parents.

Things are happening fast and Chris and Joey haven't seen the last of spectral hauntings if you will. A problem to solve keeps them busy and draws them closer but of course you have to grab your copy and read it because I'm not telling anymore of this story

I voluntarily read a complimentary copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.

After the fiasco of A Turn for the Worse, the Grant Wolves pack has to ditch CA and move to Seattle. The pack there is odd and Joey has to figure out what it is that stinks so much in Seattle—and get their own personal business resolved. From decent bands with nutjob vocalists to hidden agendas, can Chris and Joey survive the party from hell? Oh... and there's something in the house...

Here's what I liked: it's pretty much fast paced, on the edge of your seat, reading once they get to that party. The action, the tension doesn't stop. Drake has some lines in there that will get you to snort. I liked that we got to see the dynamics of another pack and how wildly different it is from the Grants.

Here's what I didn't like: not much really. Any nit-picks I have would not change the story or my enjoyment.

(I was given an ARC for my honest review)

Joey and Chris have been summonsed to their childhood home by the Alpha, their mother.
There are too many slaughters of wolves happening and she feels happier knowing all her family are safe under one roof. This is fine with the feisty Joey for a short period and when she complains to her mother she is sent off to infiltrate one of the other homes where a pack of wolves are running wild. Chris mustn't know where she is, and if he contacts her, she is not to say what she is doing away from home or how long she will be.
Tempers are rising and whiskers are bristling and there is a good chance that there will be mutiny in the Grant household unless mother tells her pack what is going on.

Paranormal fantasy

Action packed paranormal adventure. A few things did not gel in my opinion, Joey calls home but no one comes to help or check up, she calls Dean and again nothing. The first book ended with Dean interested but no follow through, at that point Chris was not back. Nothing about when he came back. Ben's friend getting killed was unnecessary. Roger didn't listen or work with anyone. Where was the wife? Other threads did not seem to flow

A very good follow up to an exciting series! It was definitely nice to get some answers from book 1, and how this story developed was intriguing. Many emotional roller coasters in this story! I enjoyed how the relationship between Joey and Chris matured. I’d be very interested in finding out what happens next for all the characters and both packs.
*I received an ARC of this book.

Well this book was certainly intense!! I love Chris and Joey! It was fun figuring out what was going to happen next but there was also lots of sadness when people you liked died! Also Chris being 'buried alive' was a shocker and especially how he got out of the grave! What an interesting take on the werewolf genre!!

Not interested in rating but kindle won't let me close the book unless i do.

Wtf, amazon? Just let me out of the flipping book already. What's with both requiring a review and requiring a minimum of non-repeated words?

Hoo boy was this a good one

I can usually figure out who dunnit pretty quick in the book but this time I was scratching my head the whole time and even after the confession. In a good way. It was very well written and realistic as ghosts and werewolves can get.

I would definitely recommend reading this book if you want to find out the answer if Joey and Chris learn from holding in feelings. Was a great read! Can't wait for the next book
