Joey and Chris are finally settling into something remotely resembling normal in their new hometown. It’s great, aside from being in separate packs.
But when Joey’s Alpha is kidnapped, it’s all wolves on deck, and what begins as a ride to the rescue devolves into the road trip from hell. The situation only gets worse when Chris, too, is taken.
Now Joey is left seeking allies in unfamiliar territory while the captives fight for their free will as well as their freedom. Can Joey reclaim her loved ones before they’re lost to her forever?
Dang this was a very emotional story for me. It seems as if one thing after another gets thrown at Chris and Joey. Mom gets kidnapped, their relationship has gone physical as they truly weren't brother and sister, Chris has taken over the pack on his ancestral territory which put distance between him and his Mom. How are Chris and Joey supposed to proceed knowing that Joey is to take over the Grant pack should anything happen to Mom. Dean is still in the area as Roger still fills connected to this plain after wrongfully being murdered. Oh and Chris is also an astral walker.
Ms. Drake just kept me on my toes throughout this whole story. I cannot wait to see how a few things are resolved in the next story. I voluntarily read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way. Get you some wolves.
Chris and Joey are finally starting to settle in and figure out what to do about both packs (It's not a merge of Grantins unfortunately) when the fit hits the shan again. Someone has taken mom. Chris and Joey go on a road trip from hell to rescue her before it's too late... but they get separated, and one of them suddenly isn't quite themselves anymore. What can Joey and Chris do to not only save their mother, but themselves from a mad supernatural collector of people? Fast paced with lots of funny one-liners. "Witch! I said Witch!" hahaha. Drake is up to her usual antics with this one, but she does leave the packs in a place that neither of them know what to do next. Looking forward to the next book!
I tell you it gets a little hard to read after a time. I read the first two books and this couple has the worst time with problems. Things work out and then for a little while they have it good. It seems like it's only a week or so then things get started again. I don't know if it's just me or what. Joey is very smart and she thinks out side the box. Sometimes that kind of thinking is what saves them. I hope that they can come up with something soon. This story is also very good and intense. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Not really a fan of shape shifter stories, because there really don't seem to be a real theme. But this story has a real plot and theme. Great characters, great plot, this is really an enjoyable story. It has a great storyline with a great flow.
Alphas kidnapped and injured, fights between witches and wolves and sorcery galore. It's hard to write a review without giving any of the game away, safe to say though, that I thoroughly enjoyed this book, number 3 in the series and have started on Grave Legacy. Thanks to Lori for writing such riveting books.
I am really liking this series! I'm so glad they finally got rid of Marc!! But so sad about Adeline! It really throws a loop in Joey and Chris's relationship though! It'll be interesting to find out how they solve this problem!
