This is one of my favorite yaoi series. Kana Miyamoto's stories are really non-stereotypical, often involving bisexuality and questioning of sexuality. This is probably my favorite of all of Miyamoto's manga I've read thus far.
Mom, you don't have to read this review. It's okay.
This series is refreshing in two distinct ways. 1: I actually really dig the characters. The realism and likable characters is what makes this manga, where many yaoi manga fall into stereotypes or jerk love-interests. This isn't one of those. There's also a love triangle (sort of) that's resolved fairly quickly, and you actually find yourself following, as opposed to rolling your eyes. Very well done. The second thing is the fact that this deals with actual homosexuality and has yet to spring the "but we're both guys/girls" line on me. I always found that line strange, since isn't the more natural reaction nowadays to someone of your own gender hitting on you to say, "Wait, you're gay?" not "B-but we're both boys..." *Blush*
Either way. The realism is what sold me on this series, as well as the likable characters. However, it only gets three stars because it is what it is. A slice of life yaoi, and though it's not cliche-ridden or irritating, it still doesn't go above or beyond expectations. A pleasant surprise, but not mind-blowingly amazing. It's cute and it's frank, but it doesn't keep me awake at night with its awesomeness.
But if you like yaoi and you're bored, this is a series worth reading.
I have read this series online since it is not published in English. This is one of the best, if not the best, Yaoi stories around. What great characters and what a realistic portrait of people. I know that if this is ever published here I would be the first one to buy it. Just doesn't get better than this and Kano Miyamoto's stories are always interesting.
