Rate this book
She needed protection from her lecherous old employer, and he needed to be married in order to inherit. Alice Quinton and Luke Barlow married before they knew each other well, before each could be sure of the other's heart. Still, Alice expected their love to last, at least until the old man died suddenly and her new husband seemed confused by her presence.

Convinced that she is unwanted and unloved, Alice Barlow disappears into the wilds of London, vowing to keep both her identity and her location secret from her legally wedded husband. If they meet, she might reveal to him how her heart still catches every time she sees him. Or that, in secret, she has been bringing up their child.

WTF was that?!? There were too many loose ends!! The Hero was not really that much assertive and could not stand up to his mother!! And the situation at their home regarding his grandfather? It’s insane!! I just finished reading this just so I could finish reading coz i do not like living a book unread... Totally would not expect the route of the story....

Terrible storyline.. so many loopholes.. The h sleeps around with every man she meets after separating from her so called "true love". What made it a real head scratcher is that the H and h didnt seem to have any chemistry at all. Infact she sleeps with him when she meets him after many years, and on the same day , sleeps with someone else! Cant call this a romance! Really bad.
