DNA technician Dani Jones can’t believe she’s being framed. But there’s no other explanation for the illegal drugs in her trunk—or the deadly target on her back. Though former DEA agent Gideon Marshall has learned to stay guarded, he won’t let Dani go down without a fight. But can Gideon and his retired drug-sniffing dog make sure she survives long enough to clear her name?
DNA technician Dani Jones is chaperoning teens on a mission trip to a reservation when her van is run off the road. Loner and former DEA agent Gideon Marshall finds the van in a ditch and offers Dani and the teens shelter for the night. Later, when illegal drugs are discovered in Dani's van, Gideon offers to help her find out who is framing her and who is after her. This story was fast-paced and action packed, but I never found myself as connected to the main characters as I would have liked to be. I did like Gideon's retired drug-sniffing dog Lou, but I wished Lou would have been featured more throughout the story. Despite these things, this was still an enjoyable enough read.
Woohoo! A spectacular debut romantic suspense and a new favouite Love Inspired author for me to enjoy (hopefully for years to come!)
Lou, the retired drug-sniffing dog captured my heart immediately. What a hero! And as gallant as only a noble K-9 can be! His 'partner', Gideon isn't half bad either -- and just about as furry. :-) Though he has some issues that make him gruff and grumpy and a tad untrusting. Which isn't in Dani's favour 'cause she's in a heap of trouble! Love the way the plot unfolds -- great action and suspense but with enough quality breathing spaces for a relationship to develop even though this all takes place in a whirlwind couple of days!
Jaycee Bullard is on my reader radar now and I'm excited to see what she has in store for her next Love Inspired Suspense novel! Can't wait!
I really enjoyed this book by Jaycee. Its about a young woman who has structured her life because she blames herself for the death of her twin. Dani Jones is such a neat character that is easy to relate to. Gideon Marshall is another person easy to relate to. He blames himself for things that happened and because of that has made some tough decisions. This is her 1st book and it is awesome. I loved how its fast paced and keeps you guessing as to what happens next. She also shows you how you can trust someone and it can be misplaced. For it had happens to both of the characters. You will find this book fascinating to read.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Framed for Christmas. This is Jaycee's first book for LIS but I have a feeling we will be see a lot more from her. This book is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I really enjoyed it and I know you will too.
DNA Technician Dani Jones is taking a group of teens on a mission trip. She stops at a gas station to refuel when a tan SUV tries to smash her between their vehicles. She is later run off the icy road. Was it the same SUV? Now they were stuck in a snow drift somewhere in North Dakota. A huge hairy stranger rescues them and takes them to his cabin.
Former DEA Agent Gideon Marshall feels something isn't quite right about the woman and the teens he rescues so he returns to the van after they are settled. His drug-sniffing dog alerts on the van and Gideon finds drugs in the back of the van. He also see a tan van that seemed to be looking for something or someone in the woods where the van was stuck. He likes the woman and the kids. What was this woman's story? Could he trust her? Who were these men?
A journey to find who is setting Dani up. Can he protect her and the kids? Can they learn to trust each other? Can the trust God to get them out of this mess? God has a plan for them; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.
I liked this story. It has all the elements of a great story, a little romance building, danger from unseen attackers, persons who care for each other (basic human kindness) love for animals, and the cold of winter. The characters are very believable, and the plot is easily followed. I do highly recommend this book.
This book is a little different than the usual romance because of the suspense of finding out why the main character is having such trouble. Jaycee Bullard created a nifty little diversion for a hot summer day
