As efforts to dismantle the prefects intensify, another dead girl is identified as one of the missing girls. Torn between declaring the girl’s death a murder or suicide, Neti, Shabaka and Moses face even more complex developments as Ramesses hands them a new mandate.
A mandate that results in a great deal of pandemonium from all the craft halls since it opposes all of the founding traditions of the Egyptian empire. Events also question whether they are getting too close to those responsible for the kidnappings and murders, or if they are merely coincidences.
Their findings finally reveal a far greater evil than expected ...
A disappointing entry in the series. Character development is flatlining and it's clear this novel cannot stand on its own. I had not thought it possible for the editing of Burns work to get worse, but it has. Grammatical errors abound, misspellings, and punctuation errors have ascended to new heights. For characters with so much potential, Burns falls short here.
This series just gets worse and worse-sloppy editing and misspellings and rather incoherent plots. It has the potential to be interesting--I do not understand how the author can release the work in this form. I like the characters but the writing is just not acceptable.
I have enjoyed all the books in this series so far and this one told them all. Neti and Shabaka have solved many crimes together but this was the most disturbing and I was anxious for the outcome. Ramses judgement in the end was very wise and fitting! Loved the book!
The story was slightly ruined, by the atrocious printing errors on every page, it must be one of the worst, that I have read, or should I say try to read
