These are 5 unique tales of horror. Some content may be considered HIGHLY OFFENSIVE. You’ve been warned. To enhance the reading experience, the author has graciously provided music, drink, and even frame of mind suggestions that pair well with each of these devilishly demented stories.
PAWN SHOP APOCOLYPSE This tale is best imagined in grainy detail with bad acting and poor special effects, much like the B horror movies of the 70s and 80s. Power ballads and hair metal are a must here! Drink of choice: Boilermaker with cheap beer and rye whiskey.
LADY AND THE CORPSE Think bright colors—green manicured lawns, white picket fences, freshly painted homes with beautiful gardens. Treat yourself to a nice scotch or a martini. Put some malt shop oldies on the radio and wonder what’s happening behind the doors of those pretty houses.
THE DEVIL’S STRAWBERRY PEPPER JELLY Who makes things? Who packages them and inspects them, guaranteeing their safety before selling them to you? Do you really know what is in that jar? Have a strong Bloody Mary with a dash of cayenne. Play some southern blues nice and quiet, with a heavy emphasis on guitar picking.
A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND Set the mood. Light some candles and relax on your bed or sink into the cushions of your couch, thinking of that one lover who touched you just right. Then think of how they betrayed you. Uncork a bottle of pinot noir and play soft, rhythmic music that, almost subconsciously, makes your body move.
IT ALL STARTED WITH AN ASS Flashback to those young years when your existence consisted of the daily pursuit of pleasure. Drinks, drugs, and sex ruled all. Tejano music played loud under the hot sun or the bright neon lights of a cantina is perfect. Enjoy Mexican beer and tequila. Yes, both.

Some very memorable stories in here, full of vivid description and imaginative, horrific scenarios. "The Devil's Strawberry Pepper Jelly" was the best of the bunch, IMO. I always knew consumers of pepper jelly were possessed by something...oh, and this collection has interesting commentary by the author. Looking to get into PCHIII? This is a great book to start with!
Five fantastic tales featuring different types of horror that simply keep on giving and giving.
Particularly enjoyed meeting the free-thinking corpse, very good, and the folks found shopping on my apocalyptic visit to the downtown Pawn Shop.
A brief introduction and insight into each story by the author was a master stroke.
Look forward to reading much more from this storyteller of gruesome, yet highly intelligently crafted fun horror adventures, from this extremely talented wordsmith in future.
A short anthology which surely should not be missed.
Rating: 4.6 glowing stars of devilish ‘adult’ amusement.
A great offering of some brutal horror. This is the perfect little collection to read on the beach or if you want some nasty stories. These are graphic, violent and explicit; fans of splatterpunk will love them all.
For those seeking a book that will offend ALL groups and subsets with equal opportunity, and a fine collection of bizarre horror fiction, look no further than 5 TALES THAT WILL LAND YOU IN HELL by PC3. Whether it's sex toys with a mind of their own, kinky orgy slayings, really, REALLY bad pepper jelly, a self-aware corpse, or an apocalypse at the pawn shop, you can't go wrong with this brief collection.
PC3 knows how to freak you out, GROSS you out, and make you laugh out loud all at the same time. These brief tales are truly bizarre, perhaps the red pepper jelly story mostly so, and if you like bizzaro fiction, you do yourself a disservice in skipping this one. I've never laughed and gagged quite so much in close proximity while reading, and I definitely want more of this southern fried author's work.
All the stories are good--even very good--but I think Lady and the Corpse is likely my favorite. It's about a rotting dead man who's wife still sleeps with him, feeds him food, and dresses him...and he's not only aware somehow, HE'S the narrator! To me it was the creepiest of all the tales, and also full of pitch black humor. Of course all the stories in here are darkly comedic, and PC3 manages to make it work on all fronts. Your mileage may vary, but that was my pick of the best of this litter, and it wasn't an easy choice because I loved all the stories.
Bizarre? Check. Erotic? Check. Gag-inducing? Check. Hilarious? Check. Frigging awesome? Double check. RUN--don't walk--and get yourself a copy of this delightfully repugnant mashup from an author who's only just getting started. I can't wait for more from PC3.
I stumbled across this collection of stories that the author kindly was giving away. It’s a great way to give readers a glimpse into your writing, and I must say I was impressed.
This collection includes many fun stories with interesting premises. It was fun to read. Each story was fast-paced, gripping, and contained interesting characters that I could relate to. On a few of them, I would have loved to be able to keep reading. The endings where great, though, particularly in Lady and the Corpse.
My favorite story was Pawn Shop Apocalypse. It was action-packed and full of good descriptions that helped set the scene. The characters felt real. I think this story would make a great novel.
I especially liked how the was an introduction to every story in this book. Each story had a little background about how they came to be. I really recommend this book for fans of extreme horror. You won’t be disappointed. Dip your toes in and test the water, this author knows how to tell a story that you won’t soon forget.
I've become quite the fan of PC3 over the last year, and this collection just solidified that even more. 'It All Started With An Ass' was easily my favorite, but there's not a bad story in the bunch here. Not as heavy on the extreme side as the more recent stuff, but the storytelling is fantastic.
The cover for this book is a piece of art, it’s like an 80’s horror comic novel sold for 30p in the old mag shops or a movie poster for the creature of the black lagoon. Some stories more interesting than others and some more messed up than others. PC3 knows what he’s doing, be it short stories or novels. It always pertains to gore, horror, erotica and glob ( a word i’ve heard him use in every single book he’s written, really man? No more adjectives you can think of? )
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has a story for any kind of horror reader, from extreme, to monster horror, to erotic horror, to just plain weird. I'd definitely recommend it. And I loved the ending.
Harrison's an awesome writer. I enjoyed all these stories, but my favorite was probably "Pawn Shop Apocalypse." I'm looking forward to more from Harrison. Highly recommended!
No doubt about it, all the little stories were fantastic, PC3 always delivers with anything he puts out and this was no different. Absolutely fantastic
