I am keeping this workbook forever! It has so many things and so many prompts which are practically helpful/useful for me.
📖Who is it for?
🖌️Perfect for all age groups specially for beginners and new adults
🏷️Prompts are specific and will make the reader reflect on various aspects which we normally don’t think about enough each day but would affect us in the long run
💎 No worries about the content to be less as the workbook provides enough space for each activity for the day or week or month whichever is convenient for the one using it
Honestly I usually don't like motivational books but I'm trying out new things and I'm very happy with my choice. The thing that I loved most about this book was that unlike most motivational content, it didn't keep repeating the same set of instructions over and over again. It was simple and sufficiently to the point! And the other great quality was that the book was not consistent of repeated cliche inspirational quotes that remind you of fortune cookies! It was filled with activities and questions and ideas. So by the time you finish it, you'll find that you have a diary/ scrapbook which you can use in different points of like. Sort of like an encyclopedia to YOU!
To begin with, I derive inspiration primarily by reading and living through the feats of others. I see myself amongst these influential individuals, and I find these sources empowering. Take for example Cheryl Stayed, and her autobiographical work, Wild. A woman who goes through hell and back to find confidence in the independent person she is - through adversity and strife. One of my personal heroes.
When a friend recommend this book, I took it with trepidation. I find that inspiration from oneself is counter intuitive, and honestly I am happy to say I was mistaken. This book is riddled with prompts, activities, and quotes that had a significant impact: forcing me out of my comfort zone. Physically detailing my fears and laying them out in front of me through drawings, lists, etc eventually led me to believe that I can be my own source of inspiration.
Please pick up this book. It’s actually a lot of fun and sometimes unconventional and unique ways of exploring your heart and mind can only lead to good things!
Worthwhile tool for those seeking a proactive approach to fostering self-confidence. The information is presented in a way that makes a complex topic accessible, and the activities are well thought out and provoke meaningful self-reflection and insight. I appreciate how akin to Keri Smith's Wreck This Journal, the book facilitates and encourages exploration and the nonlinear completion of the various exercises. Definitely a title I will be adding to my list for gift giving ideas.
I found the exercises in this book to be standard, elementary, and often too broad and simple. If you really haven't explored much in the way of self-improvement, this is probably a good place to start. After all, the standard advice is standard because it works for a lot of people. But if you're well versed in self help concepts already, you probably won't find anything new here.
This book is for someone who is just starting out on their self confidence and self love journey. I liked that all the prompts are vastly different from each other (not a repeated theme continuously.) However, this is a very beginner and basic book in this topic so I didn't get much out of it.
