I'm a middle-aged woman who works in insurance, doesn't have children or pets, can't drive, has lived in Christchurch my entire life, and currently reside a two-minute walk from where I was born.
For some reason, I've developed a rich fantasy life.
I like to write mysteries, some set in my hometown of Christchurch, others ninety minutes up the road in the beautiful township of Hanmer Springs, or in the quasi-fictional town of Pinetar. These mysteries range from hard-hitting psychological thrillers, through to police procedurals, or the lighter adventure of a cozy mystery.
Well that was a wedding from hell and quite unbelievable. With so many things going wrong I imagine the bride and groom would have been upset at some point. Plus how someone can be shoot in such a crowded place without anyone noticing is hard to believe. I hate to say it but |I'm glad this is the last one as I don't think I would want to read more.

This is too weird a take on how folks would react on a wedding day. No way anyone would be that laid back about that chaos. Finally some solid relationship changes for Holly though.
The author’s writing seems to have gotten sloppier over the course of this series. I got hooked reading book 1 (Cupcakes and Conspiracies) and devoured the remaining books, but by the time I finished this last one, I was so frustrated with the numerous typos, inconceivable situations, and loose ends.
There were so many plot points not answered at the end, and with a cozy I expect all outstanding questions to be answered by the end. I also disliked how Holly’s love life ended up - without spoiling it, it felt bizarre and unsatisfying.
This book had so much potential that it’s a shame.
Holly helps Crystal to set up her wedding and finds out just how difficult it can be when vendors keep calling in to say they can't make it, but have alternates who can substitute for them. The day of the wedding ends up being a big messy celebration, when a murder occurs just after the vows are taken. Can Holly help the Sargant figure out who murdered the town's theater owner and why?
I enjoyed this story of adventure and suspense, the author has done a great job of telling her story though her wonderful characters. The story is a mystery and romance together, well written.
This small town sure does have a not good track record of weddings without incident! Holly and some friends set out to solve a murder at her sister’s wedding and it was entertaining to read the whole time.
Yes, Crystal does get married! No, that is not a spoiler. But Crystal invited people without telling her matron of honor. Well, it is her wedding. Things do not run smoothly but Crystal does not care. What else could go wrong? Did Holly really ask that?
