Re 'Burn'. We'd save a lot of trees if the author didn't pad the book with one and a half page chapters. Fast read, no need to pay attention, gruesome subject matter (canabalism- but it's minimal tell, no show) flat characters, marginal plot, no surprises. If it's a toss-up between reading this and the side of a cereal box, pick this. It's more engaging but just barely. Meh
I really liked this book. It started out great but the ending sort of fizzled. I thought there was so much potential for a great story when Michael got called to the ombudsman neighborhood position. But halfway through when he went back to crimes dept., it sort of went down hill. The whole cannibalism thing didn't really work for me either.
They keep you wanting to read more. I like that Michael is a kind, man who values family and has morals. I'm on "Gone" now so almost done with the series.
