What a beautiful little book! The illustrations in this book are gorgeous, soft and reassuring, like the prose. This is a great book for children about the times when they may feel anxious or alone.

This is a Christian book and so God is discussed in relation to always being with you even when your parents or other caregivers are not.

I found it to be a gentle and reassuring book that my 3 year old grandson enjoyed.

thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Aww, that was so sweet! The illustrations were so starry and lovely, and little baby owl Quinn and her daddy were such sweet characters! The theme of God always being with us was so well done and put in simple metaphors for little children to understand. I appreciated the applicable verses included in the back of the book. Overall, a short, sweet, adorably illustrated story to teach your little one about God's presence!

What an amazing children's book! "Quinn's Promise Rock" tells the story of a father owl teaching his child about God's everlasting and unchanging love, comfort, guidance, protection, and omnipresence. The main message in this book is that God is always with us and that He cares for us more than anyone or anything else ever could. The father owl's words in this book are very touching and the illustrations are absolutely stunning! I highly recommend this book for children!

I received this book from NetGalley and the book's publisher in exchange for my honest review, for which I am very grateful.

This book is truly lovely. Beautiful artwork throughout, and a wonderful message of the love, strength and dependability of God. I read this to my 3-year-old and she loved the pictures and our discussion about God and how right the truths this book professed are, and how they pertain to our own lives.
It was so thoughtful that the author added little facts about owls at the end of the book as well as scripture references (and parental reassurance) to back up what the book declared.
Such a lovely book from cover to cover, both in words and pictures!

This is a sweet little book. Every child can understand Quinn’s fear of getting lost or alone. Then they can learn as she does that they are never truly alone.
In this book, the lesson is more prominent than the storyline. While it flows well, the characters are only there to illustrate the lesson. It is very well done though and you never feel that the lesson is forced.
The illustrations are beautiful. Their gentle dark colors make it a perfect bedtime story.
I received this as a free ARC through NetGalley and Harvest House Publishers. No favorable review was required. It was my pleasure to provide my honest opinion.

Such an adorable book! Very well written and the illustrations are perfect and keep little ones with short attention spans engaged and interested in the book. I read this with my 4 year old little wiggle worm and she sat through and listened to the whole book. The owls were a plus to use as its not seen in tons of children's books and my daughter thought it was so cool and was able to have a good discussion with her, especially since she has been having some separation anxiety lately. Will be recommending to family and friends to read with their little ones!

This story was such a joy to read to my daughter. From a parents perspective, the story is well written and does a great job of explaining the Love and Devotion of God to little ones. Quinn’s Promise Rock is the perfect length for a bedtime short story. The book was easily relatable for my 5 year old. She wanted to continue the discussion about God’s love, and led to great bedtime prayers. Great read!

Quinn’s Promise Rock was so moving to me that it had me teary-eyed just a few pages in. It beautifully illustrates (dual meaning there ;)) the promises of security we have in God. (This book is especially great for children who struggle with separation anxiety or anxiety in general). Both parent and child will benefit from the reminders of biblical truths expressed in this book through the journey of Quinn and her father. The words flow easily. The story is captivating. I’m eager to pass this one along to my littles (and my momma friends) and help them find their promise rocks. Thanks Christie for creating this story for us!

A picture book about finding God at a young age. Little owl is flying around with her father but she is concerned about what she should do if she ever gets lost. They fly to the mountain where her father likens the mountain to God and how he is solid, always there and will show you the way home.

Quinn a fledging owlet takes flight with daddy one night and expresses to him all the worries she has stored up inside of her.

"What if I get lost?"
"What if you dive and I don't notice?"
"What if you get too far ahead of me and I can't find you?"

She is extremely worried about being separated from her daddy and wise daddy owl takes her concerns and uses them as a perfect teaching moment in her life. He leads her to the top of a large mountain and while there he uses the mountain as a symbol of God... He is rock solid and cannot be moved. A huge storm blows in. Using his wisdom once again he shows Quinn a cave where they can take shelter until it passes. He compares the cozy safe shelter to God ... He is a sanctuary, a refuge in time of trouble. He then passes his fearful little owlet a small stone and asks her to tuck it inside her feathers. He instructs her that the little pebble is a reminder that God is omnipotent. He will be with her no matter where she goes. He will never leave her or forsake her. It will always be a comfort and a reminder that God is with her. Always and forever.

The watercolour illustrations are charming and the positive message of the book is inspiring. I love the deep relationship between daddy owl and his precious little owlet.

The book's mission is to help kids with separation anxiety. The author has included Bible verses at the end that further describes the attributes of God. Just as much as little owl reveres and loves her earthly daddy there is a bigger Daddy ( Father God ) who will be there for her! This story is simple, the message positive and powerful and it is written from a Christian point of view. I highly recommend this book.

As a children’s pastor, parent, and former elementary teacher,I am always looking for books that are relevant to children. This book addresses the common fears of children. The father reassures the young owl and teaches him that he has a Heavenly Father that loves and cares for him also. This reenforces the lessons of the Bible. I loved the illustrations also.

3.5 Stars rounded up to 4. This is a Christian picture book about dealing with separation anxiety. It is a beautifully illustrated story with soft, peaceful pictures of an owl father and his son. The prose is also very reassuring. Quinn is worried about getting separated and lost from his father when they go out at night to hunt. His father takes him to the mountain and talks about it always being there, just like God. They get caught in a storm and shelter in a cave and once again Quinn listens to his father tell him about the sheltering arms of God and finally, once on the ground, Quinn receives a small rock to symbolize that God is always with him. This is a great book for children to share with them Christian beliefs about God and that he is with them at the times when they may feel anxious or alone. The back of the book has a Note to Parents about using this story along with some bible verses. This book is not going to be for everyone, but is very sweet. The publisher, Harvest House Publishers, generously provided me with a copy of this book upon my request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

"Quinn's Promise Rock" is a sweet story with lovely soft illustrations about a young owl who is worried about getting lost. Her father shows her some helpful landmarks and likens them to God - helping her understand that she is never alone while giving her tools to help herself.

I was taken in by the cover art and completely overlooked the religion and spirituality category - which might have caused me to pass this book up. I'm glad I didn't! The author's similes are simple, clear, and in my opinion, generic enough to appeal to anyone who is willing to seek comfort in the idea of a higher power.

Quinn’s Promise Rock is a beautifully written story about putting our fears aside and trusting God to take care of us. As a mother of a child with anxiety, their fears are often too big for them to handle so what I love about this book is that it provides tangible ways God protects them and they are able to visualize the ways that God does that for us. From the illustrations to the words in this book, you will feel peace and calmness as Quinn goes from being fearful to knowing peace because she knows God is always with her. I love this book and can’t recommend it enough!

My boys and I loved this sweet little book on God's all encompassing love. The prose is thoughtful and the storytelling is engaging—the illustrations are lovely. I also appreciate how the security of God's love is explored in this book, a more rare find on how steadfast and sure we can be in His love. What a reassuring thought to children (and adults too!) One of my boys pointed out how he used a similar, clever strategy in the book (don't want to give it away) to help him through a period of anxious thoughts and new beginnings. It is relatable, wise, and charming. Definitely a book to keep and gift!

4 stars.

This is really a beautiful book. The story was sweet, well written and the illustrations are just beautifully done. I loved the shades of the colours that were chosen. The story gives the reader that sense of comfort while also sending the message that you are always being cared for and are not alone. I really liked the way the Father Owl spoke to his little Daughter Owl, Quinn, by calming her fears by telling her how to find her way home. It addresses anxiety in children and that's pretty important topic that does need to be addressed. Definitely a lovely book for a wide range of ages, including adults.

This book is about a little owl who is afraid of being separated from her father. The illustrations are beautiful and the text is simple. It sends a great message about faith and conquering fears. I think it will be easy for kids to understand. There is a Christian element to the book, which may make some people uncomfortable. Otherwise, I think it's a great book.

Anxiety and fear can rule our little ones heart. And with fear, it becomes impossible to love but love cast out all fear when we receive the love of God.

A father Owl shows his son Quinn how God keeps his promise when we are fearful. While little owl puts his focus on what could go wrong, father owl reminds his son on the promises that God will be there and knows his fears. He reminds his son what God has done and will do.

This can be abstract as a parent as bad things happen but as a parent we can reassure our children of our own love and desire to protect those that we love. Just like the Lord does for us. It is taking our circumstances and emotions and looking at God's perspective. That is a life long lesson for all who follow Jesus and one we want to instill in our children. This book is a great resource for just that.

A Special Thank you to Harvest House Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Quinn's Promise Rock could be a comforting book for the child who struggles with anxiety. I seriously wish I had this book as a resource when one of my children were younger. The concept that God is near when we are afraid is a concept that young children will be introduced to in a tangible way. I can see this story being used to launch an ongoing discussion between parent or caregiver and child about anxiety and fears. Not only is the book wonderful, I found the illustrations absolutely charming. I highly recommend Quinn's Promise Rock.
